this is the best apple tv I have brought thus far.

I really wanted to like this but after connecting to my 2021 Sony TV the picture was washed out. It took me a day or two to figure out that this product has a problem with HDR enabled. After turning HDR off colors were fine. I have just about every product apple makes but this is a great disappointment. The competition is much more price competitive and software is flexible. I would skip this product and see if they come up with something better.

I need to point out a couple of things so you can understand my review of this product. I am not a fan of Apple for several reasons and for the sake of brevity I will not comment further. On the other hand, I am an audio-video nut and for the last 20 plus years, all my T V's have been calibrated by ISF to squeeze out every ounce of performance. We use Nvidia Shield TV for streaming and used the first generation of the Apple 4K TV. Although the first-gen of 4K was not perfect by any means. The advatage of Dolby Vision and Atmos made this product the number one choice for streaming movies. Now with the second generation introduced this has risen to the number 1 choice to stream anything and everything. Movies that we watched 1,239 times became richer with superb blacks. Atmos also came alive giving more of a pinpoint directional listening experience. Even watching youtube videos were more enjoyable to watch. But the best is the replacement of that previous and frustrating remote. In my humble opinion, Apple has knocked this out of the ballpark. Now I hope the competition heats up and other manufactures step up to compete with this great product.

Worked for a couple months then would not turn on at all. Apple support didn’t not really help much just gave repair options that left me TV-less for 5 days. Unfortunately I was past Best Buy’s return period so I didn’t have any other options or else I would have returned it and bought from a different company. Which is what I suggest anyone thinking about purchasing one of these does.

Warning! If you have an Atmos setup, this may seem like the best option but expect to be frustrated. The sound will cut out and flicker no matter what app you are using. This doesn’t happen on any other device I own but constantly on Apple TV. Google this issue and it’s clearly known for awhile and Apple clearly doesn’t care. Look elsewhere for an Atmos streaming device.

It doesn't work. It was installed by Best Buy. Then I have been waiting for 2 months for them to remove it. They won't remove and install a replacement on the same date since it was sent by mail from Best Buy. The TV they mounted it on is massive. It takes 2 people to remove and the bracket for it is behind. I will never renew Best Buy Total Tech when it expires.
