Great improvement over previous generation Apple tv

I must have been one of only a few who liked the old remote. The new one is absolute trash - complete with sharp angles that don’t feel good in my hand and I keep accidentally pressing the Siri button as it is now on the side. It looks and feels cheap. Also, if you have the previous version, there is no noticeable performance difference in this one. I’m not upset that I bought it, but the horrible remote is the reason that is gets 4 stars instead of 5. I left the “help us break it down” part of the review blank. I would give the remote 1 stars in all categories which probably isn’t for to the streaming device….but Apple did make the choice to put out something that is so un-Apple.

Ugh. Apple has done it. They converted me. They basically own me entirely. I needed this to cast to my tv and I'm too lazy to hook up my MacBook with an HDMI and HDMI/usb-c converter. You created several inconveniences and then solved them by making me buy more things. Bravo, Apple.

Excelent smart tv, the controller works great, the resolution with a good tv is amazing. Doing exercises in Apple Fitness paired with the Apple Watch tracks your calories and heart rate. I can even use my iPhone, iPad and Apple Watch as a controller if I want to.

Love the new remote and the 4K quality is next to none.

If you're wondering whether or not to get one vs. using your smart TV. What we noticed was, the TV OS was a little slow and glitchy. While the Apple TV is smooth to navigate through. And if you have multiple Apple TVs you can sync them, so all the apps are in the same place on every TV.

Love using our apple tv with our old spare tv. It has given new life to a tv we thought of getting rid of. Perfect for watching sports on our back porch, and love having the apple fitness courses on the big screen.

Works as expected. The new hand held is much better.

As a long time nvidia user I must say this device gives the shield a run for its money. S seems just as piwerful and not as wonky. I still prefer my shield but this is a close second. Can definitely do a lot with the device. App Store could use more options.

Now able to see special Apple-created 5,472 photos screensaver when listening to radio stations without re-powering Apple TV. A few more steps required to begin listening to the stations with the deletion of the radio stations list on old one. Now required to download radio stations apps.

We dropped cable and went to only streaming (and OTA as needed) and added Apple TV to all of our rooms that needed it. So far they have worked out great and glad to have dropped cable. So much more flexible and can watch just about anything with the good amount of apps you can add.
