My 18 year old self would be stunned by what I’m wearing on my wrist. This is now the world I play in a half-century 50 later. Even business opportunities are like “musical chairs”. I can only play successfully if I’m instantly aware. My imagination could never have imagined this. + All forms of modern communications at my wrist, easily attracting my attention. I’m always at the ready. The spam phone call is quickly rejected by tapping my wrist.The important call no longer requires fumbling for the phone. Family incidents are here and now. + Family photos are on command. +I can talk to my wife in the back yard using the walkie-talkie feature on both our watches. + Is the stock market holding up today? No one needs to know I’m up-to-date in the middle of a meeting or at lunch. +My wrist reminds me to relax and breath at a schedule I create. +I’ve got a daily, comprehensive record of my heart rate and a daily (single lead) EKG to show my doctor as we discuss how I’ve been doing. +I choose how complicated my wrist watch is; or what fashion statement I want to make. I “slide” my more practical watch faces into view during my work day, my activity faces after work, and my super cool, or maybe Mickey Mouse face, when I’m in the mood. +There’s my calendar, the weather, shopping list, music recognizer, home door announcer, travel messages. +I can control my music. I can signal an emergency. +I can pay my food bill. +++ There surely more to come. Thanks Apple. SETUP: It doesn’t get easier. I did all the installation (mostly customizing, selecting, rejecting) which fits more into the fun category rather than work. Get on Youtube and do a Google search to find comprehensive guidance from some informative characters. I prefer a text (with some photos) guide, which worked perfectly for me. Play around and mess up a few times. You’re not going to break anything. A few days later I knew what I didn’t know and started some tasks over from scratch. SUMMARY: Read above. The only other recommendation I have . . get the Nike iteration of the Apple 4 with the Loop band that’s woven with reflective thread. Very comfortable, easy to use, and makes losing control when removing the watch virtually impossible. You’ll also get a few extra faces and Apps which you may or may not find useful. It doesn’t cost more and you trade away nothing. I’ve waited my entire life for the technology future. It’s here and I’m liking it.

Having purchased the 42mm Series 2 in late-2016 for $399.00, I was hesitant to upgrade to the Series 4 model, especially considering that the Apple Watches seem to depreciate at a more rapid rate than their iOS counterparts. Having said that, the redesign is refreshing and the difference in screen size is noticeable. The latter point is crucial, especially when purchasing one as a gift for someone who might be on the older side. Older (age 55+) family members have remarked how the Series 4 is easier on the eyes. This, along with the new suite of safety features (fall detection, EKG), makes it much easier to reach into the wallet. Speaking of wallets, is it worth $429.00? Sure, the price tag is still relatively steep, but one should realize that Watch pricing has remained somewhat reasonable when compared to iPhone pricing. After adjusting for inflation (CPI-U), my $399.00 Series 2 Watch in 2016 costs $417.41 in today's dollars. As I already mentioned, I can justify the marginal price increase considering the Series 4’s new functions. Here’s where it gets good. Just for fun, let’s take a quick look at the pricing on the iPhone side — in 2016, the 128GB iPhone 7 Plus was the “Goldilocks” model and retailed for $869.00 (+/- $100 for 32GB/256GB variants). After applying the same inflation adjustment, the $869.00 for the iPhone 7 Plus in 10/2016 equals $909.11 in today’s dollars. Now, consider that the equivalent “Goldilocks” flagship model in the current lineup (the 256GB iPhone XS Max) retails for $1249.00. This represents an eye-popping price hike of 37% from our adjusted figure of $909.11 for the iPhone 7 Plus. I do realize that we might be comparing apples vs. oranges here, so this is purely for illustrative purposes. Even if the analogy might be imperfect, the Series 4 Watch at $429.00 suddenly seems like a downright bargain next to the iPhone.

Wife got this for my for my birthday! I had the Apple Watch 2 before so this is a huge upgrade because of the bigger screen. This watch is fast and responsive. Love it. I use a protector to protect it from cracks if I hit something accidentally.

I am obsessed with my new Apple watch Nike+ Series 4 Space Gray watch.What sets it apart from the regular Apple watch are the extra Nike watch faces and the reflective Sport Loop band that you can not buy yet at Apple store for now for the same price.I can not wait for more colors of Reflective Sport Loop band to be released at the store.

Great watch and got it for a great price. I highly suggest getting one if you are a big Apple fan will not disappoint

I upgraded to apple watch from my 4 year-reliable pebble time, which finally gave out to battery problems. I wasn't looking for anything fancy, mainly notifications and keeping up with my calendar; but since I've been a dedicated iPhone user since the 7 I figured a matching watch couldn't hurt. This watch is amazing. from the sleek looks to the fluid os. What was even more surprising to me is how well of a fitness tracker this is and better yet a fitness motivator. Every day I'm wanting to ensure I close those circles and reach the activity goals for the day. I find myself more aware of what I'm doing to be more active everyday. I recall watching a video about the difference in the apple watch and the nike + edition and in short, you get a few more watch faces with the nike edition for the same price as the standard apple watch. Battery life on the watch was one of the biggest things for me because with my pebble I only needed to charge it every 5 or so days (never made the whole 7 days with it). I got use to wearing it while sleeping, and being able to track my sleeping habits as well. With the apple watch I've come close to a full 24 hours. I normally put my watch to charge when I go to bed at night. I read up on sleep trackers available for the watch, but I advise against them since you may have to sacrifice time wearing the watch during the day and needing to charge it at some point.

I opted for the nike version after doing some research and based on my recent focus to fitness - first of all, this reflective band is going for north of $150 on ebay which makes me think, just buy the watch with the reflective strap and buy other band for cheaper. Especially when there are absolutely no differences in performance between the nike and regular apple watch. As an added bonus, you get more faces with the nike version. I have realized that notifications on your wrist are a lot better than missed ones in your pocket. I am more up to date on things happening, with me being an eBayer, this has helped me a lot. The fitness tracking is very impressive as well. I am currently doing the C25K challenge and have found that the app and watch are right on when it comes to distance tracking. My wife has had the original version since it came out, my research found everyone is raving about series 4 being worth the upgrade. With that being said, I purchased one for my wife and decided to early Christmas gift me one as well. Happy wife, happy life...and I am very happy with my apple watch to date!

My Apple watch 2 got damaged and instead of repairing it, I took a credit and bought the 4. It's a significant upgrade from the v2 and well worth it. Screen is bigger and the display seems cleaner. It's also fast. Really fast compared to v2 and even my wife's v3. Battery life is about the same, but given it's quicker in pretty much every way, that's not an issue. If you have a 3 and don't need the EKG/ECG function, you might want to hold off until the 5, otherwise go for it.

I went with the 4 instead of 5 as the difference was minimal. Basically, the 5 can display the time always. Since I like mine to stay dark, I’m good without. Plus the 4 comes at a Discounted price. $329 during Black Friday preview sales which is up to $100 less for 44mm. Lastly, the 4 is a good upgrade over the 3. Slightly larger display, faster & all around improvements.

Has more memory. A little faster. A little thinner. Runs a lot smoother. A little more accurate. Overall a decent upgrade. If you have a series 3 I wouldn’t upgrade it’s only a minor upgrade. But if you have a 1 or 2 it’s a massive upgrade. Bigger screen makes every thing more detailed. Overall a good purchase. It’s an apple addiction

I really like what they’ve done this time around. I owned the Apple Series 3 and I thought it was a pretty good watch already. But the S4 is a much needed upgrade. Here are some things to consider: Pros: -The display of course, it just looks better and feels so much spacious in comparison with the S3 (I picked the 44mm case) which leads to.. -The size feels just right, like a proper watch and not some kid-friendly toy attached to your wrist. -If feels faster all together. -The screen material is superb. I accidentally smashed it on a corner of a cement column ..and it took it like a champ, the case itself got a little scratched of course since is aluminum, but I cant see any scratches ok the screen itself. -I also like the second speaker, makes using siri so much pleasent. Cons: -Somehow, it feels like the battery doesnt last as long as my S3. I workout pretty often (5-6 days a week, for at least 1:30hr) and somehow it doesnt last me the two days that I was used to with my S3, and I already tried disabling some features with no luck. Over all I think is an excellent watch.

I probably waited too long to upgrade but the difference in speed and performance of this Series 4 is so worth the price and wait. I couldn't justify spending the additional money on the S5. Very happy with my purchase.

Had the original Apple Watch and after years and years I finally decided to upgrade. Love the series 4. Battery life is crazy good and the bigger face makes using apps and reading messages much easier.

Absolutely the best fitness tracker there is. I can't believe all the features they pack in this! Battery life is great updates are frequent. Apple really nailed this.

My series 2 died out after 2 years..not sure why so I upgraded to this one. Love the nuggets screen and the sport loop is by for the most comfortable band. 3M is also an added bonus

It works just like I expected, I mostly bought it for tracking my activity but do like my notifications if I can’t get to my phone to see them

I upgraded my Apple Watch 2 to this Apple Watch 4 series and there is a huge difference in speed and the size of the screen. I also love the new EKG feature.
