I searched for several months to find a watch that will count steps, measure heart rate, and allow me to see incoming calls and texts. There were a couple others I was going back and forth with but all reviews seemed to point to the Apple Watch. I was also torn between the series 1 and series 2, but ultimately, it came down to what I need the watch for. I am not a swimmer so I don't need a water-proof series 2, and I also don't go anywhere without my phone so I didn't need the watch to have GPS. From my understanding, these are the two major differences that the series 2 has and the series 1 does not. Although I found similar functionality on other brand fitness watches, the Apple Watch seemed to have it all and then some. I actually found other functions offered by the Apple Watch after purchasing it such as the calendar sync or the "time to stand" prompt to be extremely useful. Plus, it's fun to customize my watch to look the way that I want it to. I always seem to be pleasantly surprised with each Apple product that I purchase. The Apple Watch (Series 1) is definitely everything I expected and more. I highly recommend this purchase.

This has been a great way to keep track of and respond to iPhone notifications in a more unobtrusive way (and respond quicker) and a great fitness tracker, tracking my daily exercise and motivating me to complete workouts, hit target goals and just generally be more aware of my fitness. I bought 2 of the Apple Watch 1s for my daughters and an Apple Watch 3 for myself, which has the added benefit of being faster and waterproof (the 1 is water resistant).

My wife isn’t a big tech fan as I am, but being a RN I felt she needed to be able to get certain alerts without having to look at her phone or have her phone alerts interrupting the time devoted to caring for her patients. So I decided to get her the 1st generation Apple Watch. To date it has served the purpose and then some and my wife actually likes it. The basic difference I noticed between the generations, which I felt would impact me more so than any upgraded chip or display, was the waterproof feature. And since my wife isn’t a swimmer, I figured I’d try the 1st generation, despite the side-eye the sales rep gave me when I asked for it. So far so good and at less than $200, it’s definitely still worth a look for anyone looking to score some decent tech without missing a car payment. I have a Samsung S8+ Edge as my primary/personal phone (iPhone 6 Plus for work) and have the Gear S3 smartwatch. I love my watch, and phone but would have no problem wearing the Apple Watch if my primary phone was an Apple

Easy to use. Tracks the basics and exercise without effort. Like phone and text access and notifications.

I purchased this watch because I am a working professional in a position where I cannot check my phone often or I have my hands full. This watch links with my phone and I can check messages, decide if I need to answer a call or not without touching my phone, among other things. Plus the activity tracker helps me to make sure I'm always up and moving. I did replace the band for something more suitable which was easy to do. A good buy overall.

Great way to stay motivated to move with the activity tracker and getting text and phone calls without having to carry a phone is awesome. The first time I sent a voice text through the watch was cool, but actually answering a phone call and talking through the watch was, to me, a major wow. I gave it four stars because I don't like having to charge it daily and the sport band it comes with was boring. Fixed that with a rose gold metal link band and now a have stylish and super functional watch. Great choice!

I was very skeptical about “buying into the hype” so I waited over a year before buying 1. I got it at Best Buy during their Black Friday promotion. I love that I can get my notifications discreetly on my wrist. With this watch, you can do so much like change the watch face, organize your app, and make phone calls! I easily get buyers’ remorse when I splurge on expensive things, but I’m enjoying my watch! Worth every penny!

The good Costs less than Apple Watch Series 3. Has Apple Pay, heart rate functions, and runs all the same apps. Similar design and uses same bands, too. The bad Lacks swim-ready water resistance and onboard GPS found in Series 3 models. Only comes in aluminum. Doesn't have the Wi-Fi music streaming and Radio app of Series 3 models. The bottom line If you're not a runner or a swimmer, the entry-level Apple Watch has most of what you'll need at a more affordable price.

I would rate this 10 or 100 stars if it were possible, it is such a great product! I’ve been hesitant for years about buying an Apple Watch even though I have an iPhone. This is really only because they were so expensive, as all Apple products are. But, I must admit: this Watch is great! I love being able to directly respond to any text message, and even the ability to talk on the phone and have the person on the other end of the line being able to hear me clearly. My parents are always looking to me for tech support, and they were very impressed by this Watch. They aren’t very tech savvy people, but they found the Watch functions very easy to use. It has a silent function, if needed, which is great for the movie theater. I like having the magnetic charging cable so there is no port to accidentally break. The smooth aluminum design is very nice and scratch resistant. I also like the fitness tracker on it. It’s kept me going every day! I love this Watch in its entirety.

I love my Apple watch. Great product with lots of cool features. The band it comes with goes with just about everything too. It's lightweight and looks super sleek. My absolute favorite feature is how you can ping your phone. I have a black on black iPhone so it gets lost a lot. Not anymore!

Much easier to use especially easy at the gym. Only negative was wished it was water proof.

I love the watch! The color of the band I love & also being able to buy different bands for different occasions. The watch has features that are very helpful. I always leave my phone in another room - now my watch lets me know when someone is calling or sending a text. Great feature!!
