Battery life horrible

I have other Apple products so thought I'd love having this watch. I'm very disappointed. Even though I've done all the things recommended to use the least amount of battery, the battery barely lasts through one exercise walk/run if I'm using the phone or listening to Audible. I bought it so I wouldn't have to carry my phone while exercising. I've ended up having to carry my phone because the battery has pooped out in the middle of a workout. Checking messages, emails, etc. is a great feature, but given the battery life, I don't recommend this watch. I hope Apple can figure out how to get battery to last longer.
