AppleCare should be free!

How can a company sell you something for a lot of money and then not include a warranty on that item? Even with AppleCare, if you need to use it, you still have to pay a deductible. Will there ever be a company that just stands behind their product? I purchased it anyway, but I wasn't happy about it!
