Had trouble setting it up, but haven't had issues with connectivity since. Kind of works similar to an air tag for tracking. I haven't had to use the emergency button yet. It's nice to be able to see family members location and such. I was disappointed that this is a separate application altogether from the cameras. I thought I was getting 1-year of the camera features with this. Value is 4 stars due to I got it on a deal.

When it comes to family safety, you can't be overly cautious. There are many tools that help with keeping family members safe. Arlo has came up with something that attempts to extend that safety net beyond your average tracker. There are other brands out there that can track things (like your laptop or keys for example), but what about a person? That's what this attempts to protect. The units are about as small as a battery and can clip onto clothes or attach to your keys. I have them attached to both sets of our keys so each vehicle has one. To me, these are best used when your in your vehicle. They do have a crash detection, so that would be a good thing if an accident occured. When you push the top button on the unit or an accident is detected, you will first get a text and then a phone call to confirm you need help. If they don't hear from you, they'll automatically send help. I found this out accidentally, the second day I had the thing set up. I was driving our family back from the pool when I received a text that stated I needed to answer a call that will be coming and that help was on the way! I was confused. I didn't even think of this item being responsible for the call. Then the call came and I answered it and a live agent spoke to me about me needing help. I assured her I did not need help and that somehow it was a false alarm. She was very nice and pleasant and told me not to worry and that she would cancel the submission. Although it all seemed to work well in regards to their response, I was put off by how the thing was accidentally pushed when it was attached to my keychain in my jacket pocket. It wasn't the best of first impressions. Also, when I came home and explained to my wife the false alarm, I got on the app and my unit showed just 13% battery left. I installed the battery 48 hours before! That's what this does that most trackers don't. It has its own help line and agents looking out for you. Think of it as having a security system in your house, but for your safety outside the home. Is it completely necessary? Maybe? But if there are easy false alarms, I can see it being more of an annoyance than a feature. Most of the other aspects of this tracker can be done with your phone or many other, cheaper alternatives. This has a subscription for the service, which gives you a free trial when you set it up. I'm not sure how much it is monthly, because it doesn't tell me as of yet. I imagine it will when the trial is done. There are things I love about this bundle. I do like having an automatic 911 caller helping me if the off chance of an accident occurs. I also love the size of these. They're easily managed. What I don't like is the false alarms, subscription based, the dependence of a phone connection or battery life. All the cons outweigh the pros for now. Maybe some software tweaks can make this better, especially regarding the battery life. But as of now, I don't think I'll be continuing any subscriptions.

The Arlo Safe Family Bundle with 1-Year Arlo Safe Family Plan is great as long as you have the proper expectations and understanding of what it can do for you and your family. I had to deduct 1 star for the setup. The instructions are straight forward and presented as 4 simple steps. Unfortunately, It was not as simple to complete the setup as the directions would lead you on to believe. While setting up my account, I ran into several instances where I had to close out of the app and re-launch in order to have my settings properly applied and to move past a few steps in the account activation as well as the pairing process for the Safe Button Accessories. Once everything was set-up properly, to app does a great job explaining how to use the service. The Safe Button Accessories DO NOT USE GPS (they don't claim to be, but that was my initial expectation)-- they are Bluetooth only. You must have your phone with you for the Button Accessories to work and ping your location. Think of the buttons as a faster way to access your 24/7 Personal Safety Expert than unlocking your phone and calling for help. I set one Accessory Button up for myself and one for my wife. I placed one on each of our keychains and love the peace-of-mind they provide. My wife is a Registered Nurse who works long hours and is required to park off-site in remote lots. Knowing that she has the Safe Button on her at all times is just one more layer of security that keeps my mind at ease. I would love to see a GPS enabled version in the future that would allow me to offer the same level of security to my grade school kids who do not have phones. That being said, I have also instructed my children on how to use the Safe Buttons. In the event of an emergency where my wife or myself are non-responsive, my kids will be able to call for help and need not worry about having to access our phones.

***TLDR:*** It didn't work for the whole reason I wanted it. ***I was excited to have a quick solution to out and about safety for my wife, since she does Door Dash and regularly walks our dog in a place with a lot of foot traffic. Unfortunately, the Safe Button would not connect to her Pixel 7 Pro. It had no problem connecting to my Samsung S21 Ultra, though there's actually a note to that as well. ***Regardless of what we did (clear app cache and data, re-sign in, check app permissions, re-download the app), the Pixel 7 Pro would not complete the Safe Button connection process. The app would tell us the button had been found, another connection screen would pop up, but then the fields would remain unpopulated. Her phone got hot trying to connect, so we just gave it up. ***As for the note regarding connecting my Ultra, my (the second) safe button battery actually died in my pocket. I must have accidentally started it pairing before leaving the house. Buy the time I got to trying to set it up (about 3 hours later), I went to grab my jacket and felt the button had gotten really hot. Not connecting, I took the battery from the second button and it worked right away. As I don't need the button nearly so much as my wife, I'm actually pretty disappointed. ***As for app usability and sign up process, it went smoothly for me, though I had to adjust my device's font size down to read all of the tutorial text for the button. ***I don't want to actually test the emergency services side of the app or my button, so that's hard to review, so it will neither add to nor detract from my rating. I'm going to assume it works. ***CONCLUSION:*** I'm bummed it wouldn't work with my wife's phone. It could be a Pixel problem, it could be something else, I don't know. All I know is, it's a neat concept a compatibility problem killed for me.

The Arlo Safe with two Safe buttons is a unique device where it's one of those things you never want to use unless you really have to use it. Setup for this device is one of the more tricky devices I have come across because I ran into issues in pairing it, where once paired to your phone the app would not update in real time and you were forced to close out the app in order for all the different features to unlock in the app. This took about 3 different times opening and closing the app for the device to be fully synced. This is an easy software update that will probably be fixed at some point but at the moment I found this to be really annoying and confusing with the initial setup. Also when setting it up for the other user you wanted to give the other safe device to, you had to create their own personal account and would run into the same issues as I stated above, where 1 family account where you could add users would be more preferred. Now the tricky thing about reviewing this product is that it's kind of hard to give it an honest review because that means my significant other or myself would have to be in danger and set the alarm off and have the emergency services come out for essentially a false alarm to see if it works in a timely manner. So it's really just a peace of mind product that if something bad were to happen you have something to alert the authorities. This product I feel would be best used for say a daughter going off to college or someone living in a big city where they have to walk by themselves alot. One thing I wish the Arlo Safe button did do was being able to set up a macro for the button where instead of two different settings for the emergency button, you could set the button to one tap to alert the other person you “checked in” to your destination, instead of having to open the app and go to the map and click the “Check in Button”. I personally feel like this feature would get used more often than an actual emergency. Overall this is an okay product in theory, with some minor app issues but it's really difficult to give a full review on how quick it can alert the authorities in a compromising situation, but it's more so giving you that peace of mind that you can alert them if something were to go wrong.

Summary —---------- I really wanted to love this and I think it has a lot of potential once they fix the kinks to make this a very reliable device. As is, I don’t trust it will always work when I most need it and it drains my phone battery very quickly. I love the idea of being able to summon the police for help anytime/anywhere and to notify my emergency contacts, providing everyone with my exact location, all just with the click of a button! I’d give this 5 stars just for making it so much faster/easier to get help if only it worked reliably and assuming help arrives quickly. However, I found a few big issues that makes me not trust it will “always” work when needed the most: 1. The Arlo Safe app does not always work properly (more details in “The Bad” section) 2. The Arlo Safe Button does Not always automatically reconnect to the phone. This is a deal breaker for me as the point of having a safety device is for it to reliably work which is especially important in emergency situations. 3. You cannot share an “Arlo Safe Button” within your family since every button can only be paired to one specific phone. This doesn’t work well for us as my wife and I share a car. That means that if the Arlo Safe button that got paired to my phone gets attached to the key chain, it would not work when my wife uses the car. This would force us to have separate car keys, each with its own Arlo Safe button, which might not be an issue for some, but it is very annoying to us (what if you can’t find your keys and you take your spouse’s keys?). 4. The app drains the battery. When I checked, it had consumed 21% of the total battery in the past 24 hrs. 5. I found the lack of documentation extremely frustrating. I expected the app to make it super simple to set up the Arlo Safe Buttons, but was I wrong! The lack of documentation, combined with the app not being intuitive on where to add an “Arlo Safe Button” to your account, and the app Not working properly (the “My Account” icon, which it turns out it’s the place where you add a new device, was not clickable until after restarting the app multiple times) made the entire process of adding the Arlo Safe Button way more difficult than what it should have been. And for safety-related products, usability is very important as the user needs to trust that the device and app will be there for you when you most need it… but if just setting this up causes so much pain, the trust in the device decreases. Details —---------- The good: + The app has a clean and intuitive interface (not for adding the Arlo Safe button, but once it’s added, which is a one-time thing, the app is very simple and intuitive) + Multiple ways to summon for help (i.e. notifying both, the police and your emergency contacts, providing your exact location automatically): + By using the app. There is a big button in the app that you can click + By using the physical “Arlo Safe Button”. This does the exact same thing as clicking the button in the app but it is much faster! You save time by not having to unlock your phone, look for the app, open it and click the button. + Having 2 ways to do things also means that you could reach whichever device is closer to you. The Arlo Safe button will work as long as it’s within Bluetooth range of your phone. + Easy to cancel the alarm/call for help by typing in a 4-digit code on the app. This is especially useful if you clicked (and released) the Arlo Safe button by mistake. Note that if you leave the button pressed, the alarm won’t get sent. You need to release the button after at least 2 seconds of having it pressed for it to trigger the alarm. + The Arlo Safe Button starts vibrating when the alarm is sent. This gives you a nice sensory feedback that is useful for your peace of mind knowing the alarm got sent; or to let you know you need to cancel the alarm if you pressed the button by mistake. + A text message gets immediately sent to your phone and to your emergency contacts whenever an alarm is triggered. Another text gets sent if/when you cancel the alarm by entering the 4-digit code. While it can potentially be annoying for the emergency contacts to get text messages when pressing the button by mistake, I think it’s better to err on the side of caution (what if you are getting assaulted and they force you to enter your 4-digit code to cancel the alarm?) + Car-crash detection. This is one of the features that you hope you’ll never use, but if you are involved in a car crash, it’s good to know the app can automatically call and dispatch help at your exact location + I love that Arlo figured out a way to simplify calling for help. In case of an emergency, seconds can make a big difference. And instead of dialing 911, wait for an answer, give a description of what happened and the address… you just press a button, either on your phone or the physical Arlo Safe Button, and done! The app sends your exact location and you just have to wait for help to arrive. + The app has a section named “Arlo Family Safety” where you can add and monitor family members. I like that you can click to request a family member to check in. They receive a notification asking for a check in, and they can click on a “Check in” button which will send you their location. I also like that I can click on “Send Help” on behalf of a family member that I added to the app. When doing so, you and your family member get a text message saying I am sending help. And I also can cancel sending help. + The real value is how reliable this is and how fast help can arrive. But I can’t comment on this given that [fortunately] I haven’t been in a situation where I needed to use it. The bad: - A few times the “Arlo Safe Button” did not connect to my iPhone 12 mini and sometimes it was Not easy to make it reconnect. Once I had the button next to my phone and the app said it was disconnected, I tried refreshing the app, closing and reopening it, but that didn’t work. I then went to my Bluetooth settings and I could see that my Arlo Safe Button was disconnected. I had to click to reconnect, which it did. Yet, the app still said it was disconnected and the button didn’t seem to work. I had to close and reopen the app until finally it said the button reconnected and everything worked. This makes me NOT trust this will work all the time. - The app consumes too much battery while running in the background. It requires you to allow it to monitor your location all the time, even when the app is not opened. While it probably makes sense, the last time I checked it had consumed 21% of my total battery usage in the past 24 hrs. If the battery gets drained, that means nothing will work and you’d be in a worse situation if you can’t even use your phone! - You can only pair one “Arlo Safe Button” per phone! This means you cannot share your Arlo Safe button with any member of the family. This is very annoying to us. Since all buttons look the same (they could have color-coded them), what if you take the wrong button by mistake? What if you share one car, like us, and the Arlo Safe button is attached to the keychain we both use? One person won’t be able to use it! - Adding a family member was Not easy. Once I added my wife’s phone number as a family member, she received a text message with a link to download the app. After downloading the app, she had to create her own account. After that, we had NO idea what to do because she was Not automatically added as part of my family. What finally worked for us is for me to resend the invitation to my wife. When I did, she immediately got a notification on her app saying I was inviting her to be part of my family and when she accepted, I received a notification as well. - Wrong instructions: - After downloading the app and creating an account, the included tiny instruction booklet said to click on “Add a Device” to add the included “Arlo Safe Button”. I did not find any “Add a Device” and I clicked everywhere. - The instruction booklet also said to go to their website for support and how-to videos if needing further assistance. However, I did not find any support articles about how to add an “Arlo Safe Button” to the “Arlo Safe” app on their website. It seems like “Arlo Safe” (the app and the button) is a fairly new product and they might still be working on the website to include support for it. - App not properly working to setup devices and gives incorrect instructions: - “Add a Device”: It is NOT intuitive where to find this. You have to click on your account icon on the top-right corner to be able to do this. However, I must have clicked on that icon at least 10 times when looking for the “Add a Device” option and it did Not do anything. I force closed the app at least 4 times on my iPhone, and then after clicking on my account icon once more, it finally displayed my account settings which included a link to add a device. This happened on my iPhone 12 mini and also on my wife’s iPhone 11. - When adding an emergency contact, the app accessed my phone’s contacts but did Not find my wife’s contact! I had to manually add her info. On my wife’s phone it was even worse, we were able to find my contact on her phone, but after selecting it, we kept getting an error saying “UserInfo not found”. We tried adding my phone number instead but that also gave that error. We had to close and reopen the app in order to be able to add my contact info to her app. - When adding an Arlo Safe button, the app first instructs you to add the battery. After that, the on-screen instructions tell you to click and hold the button until it vibrates once. This is wrong. The button vibrates AFTER releasing it. The instructions seem to need updating. - Unable to know whether the one-year subscription was successfully activated and when it ends. In the app, when I click on my account, then Subscription, it reads: “Current Plan - Arlo Safe Family” but it doesn’t show the start or end date.

I'm not a fan of the Arlo Safe experience as it currently stands. App bugs, battery draw, features that don't yet feel polished. It's hard for me to recommend the Arlo Safe Family Bundle. With the box, you are purchasing a year subscription to Arlo Safe. Arlo Safe allows you to keep an eye on the location of friends and family members. In addition, you can access an emergency alert button. If you are in an emergency situation, you can tap the button within the app for emergency services that are keyed in to your position. My wife and I are expecting our first child. I thought this would be a great pickup for us. I figured she could track my location and contact emergency services if need be. For $120, you get a year subscription and two Arlo Safe emergency alert buttons. The buttons are an accessory that comes with the subscription. By itself, the subscription from Arlo would run over $100. Adding the button to your Arlo Safe Account is supposed to trigger the yearly subscription. Except, the subscription didn't work for me. I had to spend a lot of time with tech support to get the subscription activated. And, even still, my Arlo Safe Application just shows a trial membership. I had to close the app and open the Arlo Safe website to see that I now had a trial membership that expires in 2024, but still the website lists it as a trial membership. I'm still confused on how this is supposed to work. A prompt on screen when you connect the button to the phone saying your year subscription has now been activated for you and your family members, would have been great. I don't think that would have been too much to ask. As it is, I'm just lost. Adding the button to your account is supposed to trigger the year subscription, but there are two buttons in the box. Who gets the subscription? How does this group subscription work for family member accounts? I can't figure this out. It shouldn't be this complicated. As said before, the application isn't the most polished. In my last few weeks, it has continually been the highest draw on my phones' batteries. With active tracking and driving features turned on, the app was easily using between ten to fifteen percent of my battery between charging. You will need to grant the application all sorts of location permissions to work. For some reason, it didn't always work with my Google Pixel 6. Sometimes it would work fine, other times it would say the device was not accessible and that the user needed to recheck permissions. I wish I could do more to customize the primary emergency alert button, but you can add emergency contacts. The automatic crash response is glitchy. My phone and my wife's phone seemed to think we were driving even when the phones were just sitting still on a counter. In theory, it's a nice feature, but if it thinks I am driving even when I am not, could that feature come back to haunt me if I were ever involved in an automobile accident? For instance, could the app later indicate to authorities that I was driving while on my phone even though I was sitting completely still? Then there is the button. Setting up the buttons and adding them to the application was easy. You can install a clip to the button or attach it to a keychain. The button itself is about the size of a shotgun shell. Occasionally, the Arlo Safe app will tell me the battery life for the button is over half used even though I have only had it a month, but after restarting the app, the battery will indicate that it is fully charged. To date, I have never "accidentally" pressed the button. It's only activated when I intended to activate it. Bigger annoyance is that the buttons keep disconnecting and reconnecting from our phones. And, every time it does this, we get audible notifications on our phone that we can't turn off. We can snooze the alert for 24 hours, but that's an annoyance that neither my wife or I have liked. I've been using this now for close to a month. My wife has stopped carrying the button around. I've gotten tired of the notifications and application glitches. The subscription not activating was a huge pain. I like Arlo. I love my Arlo cameras. But, the Safe Family Bundle isn't quite ready. I could see this product being great. But, it's not there yet. There are a lot of alternatives to the Arlo Safe Family Bundle out there, and I can't see any reason to recommend this one. Sorry.

I've had Arlo cams for quite some time now and also used the accompanying application that came with them. They've always been well designed and easy to install and setup as well as navigate to do whatever you might want the camera to do. These I'll call them "safety buttons" are an extension of Arlo's safety family. They're nicely built with aluminum accents and bright white color. The one thing I think I'd have added is some sort of silicone casing to protect them from getting all scratched up being that you're supposed to have them attached to your key ring. They're too pretty to mess up! haha In this day and age any extra bit of comfort and safety is a plus and having these in hand and ready to go sets your mind at ease a little knowing someone is there at the press of a button. It also has location sharing and check in history, and one unique function which thankfully I didn't test haha is accident detection letting someone know if you'd been in an automobile accident, which I'm guessing it uses the gps function in case of some abrupt stop while traveling at a certain rate of speed. Pretty amazing to say the least. Your app allows for personal safety, family safety or car safety. You can also choose what type of help you need whether it be Fire, Police, or Medical. Overall it's a cool little setup especially if you have kids and you want to keep track of where they're going or if they ever come to a situation where they need help. In this day and age with school shootings and chaos something like this would be a Godsend Would recommend to others!

My family has been using another service that allows us to track our drives and make sure that we are all safe. I thought this might be able to take the place of that service. If this is your first foray into this type of service then this might be a good route to go. Unfortunately, having used a couple of others, my expectations might be a little high and this service, while a good start seems to fall short of what I’d want from this kind of service. Setup was relatively simple. I had a couple of glitches that popped up initially, but after a quick restart it seemed to squash those issues. For some reason I thought that the two included trackers would work independently, not the case. After setting up the software, I began setting up the tracker and realized that it pairs to your phone with Bluetooth. The tracker ends up being a physical extension of the app in your phone. This seems great, but I had hoped to let my kids use them, they don’t have phones yet so that’s not going to be a solution. The tracking aspect and quick access to emergency help, along with the crash detention is great. My overall take away from using it for a couple of weeks is this; while the service itself seems kind and convenient, the software experience seems lacking. The UI isn’t very great, and it seems to be missing some niceties that some other similar services offer. I’d say that it’s worth checking to see if it means your needs, but they could really work in their software experience and become more competitive with the features offered.

The Arlo Safe Family Bundle with a One Year Arlo Safe Family Plan is an interesting device which is targeted for specific use cases. All in all, it is a keychain device which is equipped with a button. If you find yourself in an unsafe situation - you simply push the button and it will alert the emergency services (police, fire department, etc) to get you help as soon as possible (there is a period of time you can cancel that alert in case you accidentally pushed the button). One big plus to this is you don't have to pull your phone out and try to dial for help, this thing will do it for you in no time. There are a few things you need to be aware of as a user: this Arlo Safe button device is tied to your phone via Bluetooth and does not have any other wireless capabilities like LTE or GPS. So it is assumed that your button and your phone are going to be with you when some emergency or unfortunate event occurs. I like that it is fully packed with emergency features like not only notifying your 911 center but also your emergency contacts that you can assign (up to 2 contacts). I also like the emergency recording feature. You can record events as they happen and store them in the cloud for future use with Cloud Witness™ Incident Recording. A few improvements I would suggest is the setting up process was a bit wonky and confusing at first, other than that this is a great product for elderly, for young people working night shifts or for your spouses to add a layer of protection in case you are not available.

With so much crazy going today, feeling safe is a top priority. I often travel by myself for work and end up in unfamiliar places very quickly. My husband isn’t a fan so we invested in the Arlo safe family bundle. It came with 2 so we each have one. We are able to put them on our key ring. I have 1 car key fob, 1 actual key and the Arlo safe fob. So it’s not too much to carry around but it’s not something I care to put in my small pockets. Hubby has big pockets so his keys are literally on him at all times. This fob is simple. Add Arlo app, add battery and sync. you are able to do family place alerts and check ins monitoring it will even detect a crash and respond 24 seven safety and you will also be able to save incidence on an electric cloud all of these Lynn to personal safety next level if you ask me. Since it looks like a flashlight, no one would ever know you can discreetly alert, professional security experts during an emergency. You can clip it on your backpack keychain in a purse and always have it with you. It does require a cell phone connection though.

This a great product on the face of it, but it has a major problem that can make it fairly redundant. I gave this to my wife after registering it and sent her off to the park to walk with our infant son, feeling good about the security of having Arlo folks send help with just a button push (or an anti-button push). The device is well made with a very easy to press button. It vibrates when the button is pressed correctly and sends help to your GPS location when you do. There’s also a “hold me till I’m safe” mode where you hold on to the button and if you let go, it’s considered an an emergency call that can’t be dismissed without your pin in your phone. Great, right? The problem is that your phone must be in Bluetooth range. I mistakenly thought there was a GPS or some other transmitter in the device. Wow, if it had that, it would be a massive value! So when I sent my precious family to the park they were really unprotected because my wife had not brought her phone (Apple Watch or Pixel Watch doesn’t count), so if she had used any of the security features, no one would have come. Okay. So the second voyage out, I sent her with her phone but realized she either had to be logged in as me with Arlo, or we have to have a connected set of accounts. If choosing the latter, you don’t get to see a GPS locator of where they are. Thank goodness for Find My Friends and the equivalent on Android! So… why have this? Well, if it’s set up correctly, and you have it in your hand, it’s faster than pulling out your phone and doing the equivalent button press in the app. Precious seconds could be saved which can and does make a difference when there’s an altercation threatening your loved ones. The Arlo app has a big button function that does the same thing as the hardware devices. However, if you already have your phone open and you have the gumption to tap on Arlo, wouldn’t you just make an open emergency 911 call instead? That transmits your location as well. And if you’re in danger, the operator will stay on the line until you’re safe. The buttons are well made, durable, and easy to use and that’s a plus during an emergency, but you have to make sure that your device is nearby, and that’s a big con. This product could be improved by including real gps and cellular connectivity. Maybe that’s coming in a future pro version of this product? OR, if there's an update to a cellular connected smart watch, you might end up with something that really makes up the difference.

I needed to create an account to get started which I expected, but for some reason once I created the account the app wouldn't take my information. It didn't deny my email address and password, but wouldn't allow me to do anything within the app once my account was created. At one point it said, enter your phone number to contact for emergencies and I did, to the "T" and it kept telling me the "User not found". I had no idea what that meant or why it wasn't taking my number. I thought well shoot, maybe I'll create a new account and see if that works. Same thing happened to that. I was at a loss and couldn't for the life of me figure out why this app has such a high rating. Eventually contacted support which was SUPER helpful. They let me know there was some issues with the system and it may be a little bit. Talk about bad timing lol. Waited a couple hours and my account was fine. Paired the devices to my phone and there I was on my GPS view. Setup my wife and blamo, we were there. We ended up handing them to our daughters and off to the races we were. Watching them go to school and it did exactly what we wanted them to. Just the initial hurdle that apparently was a system issue. We decided to remove the app and reinstall the app to see how the devices would react to us removing the app simulating "getting a new phone" and it wanted us to remove the device from the app, unpair the device, and then re-pair it to our phones. When we did it said, "Please reset the safety device" and didn't tell us how to do this. We couldn't figure it out to be honest with you and had to google it. It's pretty easy, just remove the battery, re-add it, and press the button for 15 seconds. It trains you on how to use the panic buttons. Tested it out with just our emergency contacts rather than emergency services and it worked well. I feel better knowing that the kiddos have a way to let us know they're in danger and we can find them. The problem is the proximity to the phone needed to work. I wish it was self contained really, but it's quicker than trying to find the app itself to do this. I'd recommend it for anyone looking for this type of solution

Arlo safe is a great item for families, women, children, and anyone else who may need an additional sense of security. It’s also an excellent tool if you just want to let people know that you’ve made it to a destination safely, or school or work. What you get included are two arlo safe devices, two keychains, two clips, along with directions with 4 very simple steps to setup, and log in from the app. If you are someone like myself with other Arlo products, there is a separate app that comes along with a separate subscription fee. You can still use your Arlo username and password to login to Arlo Safe. It’s advertised that you get one year free trial of Arlo safe family, but I ran I to some issues with that, in which Arlo is working to resolve. Setup was almost seamless, except I did have issues connecting my first fob to the app which was a bit frustrating. Anyone can set it up, and it only involves pushing button to connect to the app. There are features like being able to press the alarm when walking alone, or anytime you feel like you’re in danger and you can also mark yourself safe in the same way. I was recently in an accident and although there is a crash detection option, it did not activate during my crash unfortunately. This is a feature I hope no one has to use, but I did and the Arlo safe did not detect the crash. That, along with the connectivity issues and the others detailed above is the reason for the 3 star rating. It has promise, but needs work.

The Argo Safe Family Plan is a very great idea on ensuring you are safe at all times. With a press of a button on the Safe Button, you immediately send a notification to loved ones and emergency services. And the design is to prevent you from using your cell phone in a very obvious way of alerting you are in danger. Instead, you press the button and quietly and discreetly send the alert. At first I thought this button would work in lieu of the iPhone, where it serves the same purpose as an AirTag or other tracking device. Nope. This works in conjunction with the assigned phone (either iOS or Android). This set comes with two Buttons and initially I had difficulty connecting both of them for both of my children. This was easily resolved by contacting Arlo directly and troubleshooting. Now both my son and daughter are protected on their own devices. You can add up to two different people for notifications, so both my wife and I are on this list and receive notifications when they pop up. The remainder set up was easy and the app provides a very quick setup. Although we haven’t required them to be used in an emergency, the set up process and app site can contact Fire, Police and EMS. A simple input of passcode will cancel the alert and notify loved ones you are safe. There is also an accident alert if you are in an event, you can contact the right response if you are separated from your phone. Overall, this provides us the peace of mind knowing that my children are as safe as possible.

Let's be honest, we all have moments when we just want to know where are teens are at, if they are safe, and if they need help they can get it easy and fast. I got this for my pre-teen son who leaves the group home for walks without really telling anyone. I think I have it set up correctly as I made his home a safe area (where it only pins every 5 minutes to save battery) and then added the wifi at the home. I have both items set to the smallest area to try and get notified ASAP when he leaves the home. But no matter what, it seems to stay on the 5 minute ping because even with the wifi it can take up to 5 minutes after he left to let me know. I thought the wifi saved battery by sending a notification when the connection to wifi gets weak rather than pinging. After he leaves, it seems to still ping about every 5 minutes to get his location. On the map it shows accurately where he is at but the path draws a line from each ping location so it doesn't actually follow the route he took to get somewhere. But when he was moving, I turned on "Live" and it would ping about every 10 seconds but after about a minute, it warned me that I was using a lot of battery life so I turned it off since he was on the bus going to work.

Great little package of protection and peace of mind for your family. It includes a couple of their security “buttons” a couple of batteries for them and some clips and keychain attachments. Setup was easy, you just download Arlo’s safe app and then either sign into your account (if you already have one like me) or create one. Then start adding devices and the app will guide you through the process on how to do it step by step (including instructions on how to open the button, install the battery etc.). Then once it’s all done, the app will get you through a practice mode on how to use the buttons. One mode is just pressing it to request help (like if you are in an accident, in danger of being harmed physically etc.), then another is a “walk with me mode”. Think about this, like if you are walking alone on the street, coming from work etc. late at night or in a shady location and you are afraid of something, or someone may follow you or something like that. You press the button the hole time and if something happens to you, of course your finger will come off and that will bring help to your location. I must say its location finder is on point. Now, remember, this requires you to have a phone with you and the app. If by any chance, there is a false alert, you can set it up to enter a PIN to cancel any alerts (kind of like false alarm and your home’s security system), so you don’t have authorities coming to your location. It can be used for any emergency (not only involving the chance of crime, but in example also accidents, falls, car accidents, camping accidents etc.). This little bundle includes a year of their family plan, and you can add other family members (they include a second button) but you can purchase and add more, one for each family member for example. Now, each member must have a smartphone and a mobile number FYI. Each button shows in your Dashboard app so you can keep track of where they are. They can also add check ins in the app, let you know all is ok. When I initially set it up, their website would recognize I had the free year membership, however the app refused to give it to me, if this happens to you, just close and restart the app after a little while it will recognize you have the free 1-year family plan and let you start adding other family members btw. I gave one button to my elderly mother and now I have and extra peace of mind she’s safe and if something ever happens to her (like a hard fall or something) she can just press it (I put it in a lanyard for her) and get help right away without having to pick up an try make a phone call!! I highly recommend it to keep your family members safe!

This Arlo Safe 2 button kit is a must have for Family Safety. It was a little confusing to set up at first, but once I got it set up, it all made sense and really impressed me. First of all, you download the Arlo Safe app for your smartphone. Follow the directions to set it up. You will only set up one button on each smartphone. Set up your button, then send an invite to another person in your household/family, for them to download the Arlo Safe app on their smartphone. It may take a few minutes for the invitation to come through, so don’t keep sending it over and over, that was my mistake. Accept the invitation on the other device and setup the other button. You will get another notification on the second device to accept, once accepted, then you can set up the preferences on the app. App preferences are pretty cool. You can do live tracking or check-in’s only. You can also get location history. Another cool feature is that you can walk with this and push the button if you feel in danger. Help will be notified and will be sent to your location. There is also a cancel help option that allows you to enter your code and cancel the call for help. The button is small and discrete, fits in a keychain or necklace. This also has crash detection and will notify and send for help. It’s a great little device that is indeed a must have.
