Customers are saying
Customers commend ARMS' surprisingly deep and fun gameplay, phenomenal motion controls, and ease of use, making it enjoyable for players of all skill levels. Many appreciate the colorful characters and find the game's difficulty to be a satisfying challenge. However, some wish for more content and find the price point to be a bit high, while others would like to see more single-player options.

Lots of punching, blocking and dodging
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Arms is a very unique take on boxing. Your characters all have different weapons that go on their arms for them to hit other players with. There are quite a lot of combinations of arms to use and the characters all have unique abilities as well.

A fun time!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was so hooked after the test punch I had to buy the game! It's one of those games that anyone can play, but the challenging part is mastering the mechanics and pairing it with good timing to get really good at kicking people's butts. Party mode is always good for a fun time, and since the matches are randomized it keeps things interesting. Ranked mode is great for when you're feeling prideful and competitive. I will admit I spent the better part of an hour rematching one opponent back and forth until finally calling it a stalemate and moving on to a different challenger. This mode is unlocked after beating Grand Prix mode on level 4. There are many more ways to play this game, like Grand Prix and a medley of one player mini games, that I won't get into but rest assured they're all fun and challenging in their own right.

Meh
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My son wanted it because he saw someone playing it on youtube. Once he got it though, he played for about 2-3 days and hasn't touched it since. Pretty one dimensional for such a high priced punching game. I probably would not recommend and would return if I could. Waste.

An new style of fighting game
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I picked up a copy of ARMS after playing the demo from the Nintendo e-Shop. The presentation is good, and the music is very catchy. I know it's an odd point to make, but the title screen music alone is very memorable. Each fighter uses different arms to fight their opponents, and each arm can be customized and controlled (both with respect to throwing the punch and by giving the punch some directional input to track your opponent). There are the fighting game staples, like 1v1 and 2v2 fights, as well as the Grand Prix style, in which you fight 10 opponents (think Tournament mode from Street Fighter), but there are also mini-games as well. The in-game currency you get is used to unlock content, and Nintendo hosts themed matches intermittently, which can award more currency. All in all, it's a fun game to play. My only complaint is that the process of unlocking content gets a little tedious at points.

Fun multiplayer game

Fun game overall
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Really interesting fighting game. Both control methods work well but the motion controls are just so fun. I recommend trying it in local co-op for the most fun. It could use more content but is getting updated with more every so often so it should have a pretty good replay value.

A great game held back by lack of features
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Arms is easily the best motion control game I've ever played. The characters each have their own unique style and unique abilities. The worst part about this is that all these characters are interesting from a design perspective, but don't have any storytelling beyond that, at least not in the game. I think that a story mode would have easily solved this problem, and would have definitely made the game more interesting on the whole. Grand prix is exactly what you'd expect, you go through 10 bouts vs. the various fighters in Arms on all of the different maps and through different modes. The online still has problems that are familiar to those who've been playing online on Switch, mainly disconnects. However one major perk of the online is that if you're playing the party mode the lobbies are very well done. You are shifted from group to group, mode to mode, map to map, and it keeps gameplay very fresh. Everything is seamless when it's working as intended.
