the Astro A20 delivers a solid wireless gaming experience with excellent comfort, good audio performance, and a mic that gets the job done a strong pick for consoles and PC gaming. I love the wireless freedom it gives you while playing no tangled cords to deal with and the connection stays strong at normal gaming distances so you don’t lose audio mid-match.

The Astro A20 Wireless headset is a good gaming headset with great sound. Out of the box the headset comes with the USB transmitter and a USB type-A to USB type-C charging cable. The USB dongle is huge at 2” when plugged in, long by today’s standards. The type-C charging cable is a nice addition as it is much more durable than micro USB.
First impression of the A20’s was reminiscent of Star Wars gear; they look amazingly cool and ready for Gaming!
The exterior of the headset is made entirely out of plastic which is a bit rigid. The headband flexes the most but held up to excessive twisting. Earcups are made from the same cloth as other Logitech headsets which felt comfortable even during extended periods of use. Headband material is made of a rubber-like material which is comfortable as well. The earpieces do not twist/swivel front to rear like similar gaming headsets. The feeling of the headset when I touch them is an overly plastic tactile sensation with accompanying plastic sound to the ear, not an upscale impression.
Controls on the headset are easily accessible nicely designed and effortlessly controlled in the middle of gaming or chatting.
With “Astro Audio V2” technology the headphones have exceptional sound with three preset EQ settings easily accessible with a single button. The integrated microphone sounds noticeably clear and is outstanding compared to similar headset microphones.
Key specs:
• Frequency response: 20 Hz - 20 kHz
• Sensitivity: 100 dB SPL 1kHz @ 1mW
• Nominal impedance: 32 Ohm
• Total harmonic distortion: < 3% (20 Hz - 10 kHz)
The headset is intended to last over 15 hours off a single charge; however, my headset never ran out of charge, probably thanks to the 10-minute auto shutdown “feature”. The auto shutdown had me constantly having to restart my headphones frequently when no audio is playing. Found the auto shutdown to be annoying and an option to turn off the auto shutdown would be welcomed.
With the charging cable being quite long you can continue gaming while on charge. Nice.
With a 2.4ghz connection the headset’s range is 15 feet. Expected a bit longer range from the size of the transmitter but this should not affect anything. Did notice that when the headphones are almost out of range you get a popping sound, which is not a significant issue.
Delivering wonderful audio with an extremely attractive price point makes the Astro A20 Wireless headset a solid choice if you are looking to go wireless.

I picked up the gaming headset for use with my Playstation 4 and wanted something that would be compatible with my upcoming Playstation 5 upgrade. I also used it with my Mac Pro. The headset offers a comfortable over the year fit with soft ear cushions that also accommodate my glasses which is nice (something that has been a challenge in the past with other headsets).
The wireless connection is solid. The manufacturer claims up to 50ft distance. I am a lot closer than that where I sit, but I've not had any connectivity issues. The sound is good for a gaming headset. The USB transmitter makes it very easy to move use from my PS4 to my Mac and I really like the "Flip-to-Mute" microphone which has great pickup.

These are the best bang for the buck. Long charge life, and the Real 3D sound is next level, even on Hunt Showdown which has the best sound of any Gabe. Mic can me muted simply by sliding it into the up position. Plug and play. Just plugged the usb piece in the PlayStation and it worked instantly. I can chat while across the house in the other room if I have to run to the kitchen in between matches.

The Astro A20 wireless headset gives you the freedom from cables for long gaming sessions. I have a set of wired A40s and as great as they’ve been, dealing with the cables to the mix amp is a pain unless you’re using them at a desk. Aesthetically, I love the squared off look to the headphones, I think it’s gives them a kinda retro but futuristic look at the same time! In game sound is excellent, you have the situational awareness with nice highs and lows. You can choose from three different sound profiles, though I wish the headset said what the different sound mode was when you switched. In game chat has been clear on both ends for me, and the flip to mute for the mic is nice. The ear cups are the same as the A40s, but are not removable and replaceable like the A40s. The mic also can not switch sides like the A40s. This makes sense as these are at a much different price point.
Personally I’ve found the headset to be very comfortable to wear for long (maybe an hour or two) gaming sessions. But, I wear them at the highest setting. If you have an XL head, this might be something to consider, as mine is probably large. The A20s offer a solid value as they work with PC, Mac, PS4 and are future proof with PS5 compatibility.

THE BREAKDOWN:
Overall, not a bad headset. The setup was pretty straight forward and quick. The box included the headset, USB-C cable, and USB dongle transmitter.
Some of the features of this headset are they are NOT only used on one platform. You can use them on Xbox, PC or Mac. For me this feature is amazing as I do no like having different headsets for each platform that I play on. They are wireless and work on the 2.4 GHz range. I found that the range on these headphones was around 50ft like they stated. However, when adding floors and walls the range was around more like 40ft, but for me that worked well as I go up one flight to the fridge.
The sound output was good. I found the highs and mids to be fairly clear and the bass was just ok for me. One thing to add on the sound is that you have Dolby Atmos for Xbox the surrounds sound really enhances the experience.
The flip-to-mute microphone worked well, I didn’t receive any “hey who’s mic is echoing” while gaming rants. One, thing to note is that on mine you actually had to move the microphone all the way up to the vertical position to mute it. On others that I have used they had a midpoint mute which I kind of liked better.
The fit was just ok for me, I have a big head and they fit me but felt almost like they bowed out some around the top. They were pretty comfortable for extended play time. Not the best comfort I have experience but by far not the worst. There is also game/voice balance and EQ presets. These all worked well and as intended.
PRO’s:
-Good wireless range
-Can use on Xbox, PC and Mac
-Flip-to-mute mic
-Comfortable for extended wear
-expandable with additional dongles
CON’s:
-No option for upgraded ear covers
-The earcups do not rotate flat
SUMMARY:
Overall, these headphones worked well and were comfortable, and I would recommend this to a friend if they are in the market for device like this.

This headset exceeded my expectations. The sound is crisp and clear, making calls and music enjoyable. Noise cancellation works beautifully in busy environments, and the fit is very comfortable even after hours of use. The battery life is impressive I can get through a full workday without needing to recharge. Highly recommend for both work and leisure.

I have used a wired version of this companies headset in the past and its been the best headset i have ever used. I still use it on my console today. Knowing this I was excited while opening up this headset. Once I got them in my hands I was a little let down to be quite honest. The build is not as sound as my other pair and the padding around the ears is subpar. The max size of the headset is on the small side too. (Please keep in mind that this headset is designed for the new consoles coming out but all testing of this product is related to the most current 4k version out today. I am waiting for my pre-order to arrive)
Now, build and comfort aside, this headset truly IS wireless as it connects via bluetooth plug in that goes directly into the console. Sound is good but nothing compared to my other wired version. The power and pairing buttons are located on the side of one ear phone. I must say its nice to be able to keep my headset one while grabbing a beverage and not having to worry about wires.
All in all, this unit could use some focus on comfort as it lacks in that category. On the other hand the wireless nature of the set is outstanding and with accompanying sound being decent I would still recommend this product to anyone looking for a true wireless headset for gaming/streaming.

Not hating on turtle beach but thats all i use to buy, but the stealth gen 2/3 just gave me issues non stop, multiple returns, and warranty changeouts. Decided to buy these for myself to try out and it was the best decision that ive made. Very comfortable, clear sound, easy to operate mixer, volume wheel that works smooth, mic seems solid. Now my boy has one and will be getting my wife, and other child a pair.
Thank you for sharing your experience with the A20 Gen 2 Headset! We’re glad to hear it delivered comfort, clear sound, and reliability, and we truly appreciate your trust in recommending it to your family.

But the A20 Gen 2s don't necessarily stand up to features available in other gaming headsets in the same general category. For example, Steelseries and Turtle Beach (there may be others) both offer Surround in their wireless headsets a similar price point.
The A20 does however have a standout feature in it's ability to work with multiple consoles. Rather than having the firmware in the headset itself, it's located in the USB transmitter. Buy the Xbox version and want to use it on a Playstation? Simply purchase the appropriate USB dongle for $20 and you're good to go -- no need to use a different headset. Very cool.
Other features include a flip-to-mute microphone that has a decent level of flexibility, a USB-C charging port, three EQ presets, and an on-ear volume dial.
The A20 offers good sound, and for me they were comfortable to wear for extended periods. The plasticy but seemingly solid frames did not have a lot of adjustabiltiy however
Overall, other than the ability to be used on multiple consoles, nothing really stands out. It is solid at everthing, and you could certainly do worse, but in the crowded gaming headset market there are many other choices either a little above or a little below the A20 Gen 2's price point that may be better options.

After being in a pinch and trying headphones in the store, these astros felt like a cloud on my head. Honestly, these felt really comfortable and doesn’t squeeze my head. There is no sound suppression, which I don’t really like anyways. The lightweight nature of it is amazing, but the mic quality is mediocre. Perfect headset for an Xbox, but you might want to look for a better one if you’re going into pc gaming. It works for pc, but I don’t really get enough bass in these, so I wouldn’t recommend these as your first option. As for wireless headsets goes, it has really good range, top notch comfort ability, decent sound, mediocre mic, and decent battery life.

I bought this headset to replace my previous Xbox One wireless headset that was not compatible with the Xbox Series X. After having used the prior one for YEARS, I was disappointed to have to buy another set. The prior required a Digital Optical Output which is not present on a Series X console. The A20 uses a USB dongle for connection to the console. That being said - I find the A20 to be a decent mid-range headset.
Pros - I found it to be extremely simple to hook up and get going. They are snug around the ears and keep outside noises to a minimum while being very comfortable to wear for hours on end. The battery life is pretty much 'as advertised' based on my experience in the last month of using them. The controls are very easy to use. The sound is 'good' but not 'awesome' in comparison to my last headset. Completely wireless is the only way to go, IMHO.
Cons - While I do find the sound is 'good', I do find footsteps to be less noticeable than with my prior headset (although having recently changed from COD Cold War to Vangard, I find them to be less obvious in Vangard overall). Directional noises are pretty decent though. While the headset is very comfortable, for me, I'd like just a bit more room to adjust the headband slightly higher (although I do have a pretty big head) so the earcups would be a touch lower on my ears (make sense?). My last headset had separate volume controls for game sounds and chat - the A20 does not, so all sounds must be adjusted in Game Settings, not on the headset itself, which was much nicer. My BIGGEST gripe with the A20, is the lack of voice/mic monitoring. By this, I mean the ability to hear your own microphone in the headset. It's like wearing headphones or regular earbuds at a decent volume when listening to music and trying to talk to someone. You aren't really sure how loud you are talking - your own voice is muffled to yourself. If I hadn't had my last headset, or you have never had this feature, you may not even notice this. I dd have this feature and it annoys me to the point that if I would have had more time after purchasing these, I would have probably exchanged them for a different model to compare. I used them probably twice and then left town until my return window had passed. I am getting used to this though. It's not terrible - just very different than what I have been using for 7 or 8 years - and I have been using these for about a month. Oh yeah - included directions are virtually USELESS. I went online to figure things out. Once you know things, the directions make sense but before that, not so much.
I have seen Quality comments about the A20, but I find them to be of good construction feel. My last set was 'known' for cracking issues with numerous complaints but I made it through 7 years with only minor issues eventually showing up (that were easily remedied) but I am not rough with my headsets and I'm not a kid - so experiences may differ. These do feel more solid than my last headset though.
Overall - good headset. Not perfect, but good. The long CON section is not about more Cons - just trying to explain them in more detail. Cons are more important to understand well. The Pros are pretty self-explanatory.

I was looking for a good headset for quite some time, i was spending hundreds of headsets that are supposed to be good and comfortable when they’re quite the opposite. This headset has a ton of good reviews across the board, but was still nervous. However, I love logitech. I just want to start by saying this headset for its price, is by far the MOST comfortable headset I have ever owned. The ear pieces are that really soft velour kind of fabric, i have fallen asleep in this headset its so comfortable. I saw in another review that they disliked the fact that the volume wheel doesn’t separate the voice and game chat. Thats what made me nervous because i enjoyed with Turtle Beach 700 that they have a volume wheel for voice AND game chat. However, where it says “Voice” and “Game” by the volume wheel, those are buttons and they help adjust your audio mix. HUUUGE game changer. I most definitely would recommend this headset, if there was ONE thing i could change about the headset is how long the mic is. But other than that, i think im sticking with this headset for a long time for sure.
Thank you so much for your kind words about the Astro A20 Gen 2 Wireless Gaming Headset! We're thrilled to hear that you're enjoying the headset so much, especially after experiencing discomfort with previous headsets. We're glad you found the A20 Gen 2 to be incredibly comfortable, with the soft velour earcups providing a luxurious fit. We understand your initial concern about the volume wheel and are happy to hear that you've discovered the dedicated buttons for adjusting game and voice chat volume. We appreciate your feedback regarding the microphone length. We'll take your input into consideration for future product development. Thank you for choosing Astro Gaming. We hope you continue to enjoy many hours of immersive gaming with the A20 Gen 2!

What a terrific headset! And what is not to love? It has a great price, it is crystal clear, players tell me the mic is crystal clear with little background noise, there is plenty of spare volume to help find those campers hiding in the bushes in your favorite shooter game, the excellent battery runtime is beyond ridiculous and did I mention that all this comes in a WIRELESS headset. And not a slow Bluetooth headset that will get you killed in a shooter game, but a fast 2.4 wireless headset that is faster than your reflexes. You just gotta love it!

Longest battery life I've had in a wireless headset (16-20 hours)
Better sound quality than my last 3 sets of $100+ turtle beaches
They are LIGHT
And surprisingly comfortable if you wear glasses.
Requires one of your USB ports to be dedicated for the wireless pod
Occasionally have an issue on first gen Xbox ones where audio will stop working until the USB is pulled out and put back in
Could not get this issue to reproduce on an Xbox One X

Battery life is good. Sound quality is pretty good, though it does lack the bass of some headsets I've had. You can flip the mic up to mute, which is handy. Ear comfort is good, though I get some pretty uncomfortable pressure points from the headband portion of the headset. It should be noted that I shave my head though, so I don't have hair to act as a cushion for the headset. Over all, a decent unit for the price.
