They good but better with mix amp just make sure these are the ones u want before buying them

It seems that the headphones just aren't that great in general, they seem a bit quiet at times and a decent amount of people tell me my mic quality is bad.

The headphones fit fine, but the sound quality was not what I was hoping for. No surround support on console.

These were OK but for the money I didn't think they were great.

The boom microphone reliability on these headphones was really disappointing. Even after replacing it with a new one from the manufacturer, it failed again. For your hard earned gaming money, I would look elsewhere for a gaming headset.

Online description says it’s for PS4 when really they are intended for pc. Although they do work with ps4 would have purchased something else. The box they are in does not even say they are compatible with PS4.

I've been using Astro headsets in some capacity for 13 years. This makes the 3rd set of A40's that I have purchased while using my original mix amp. They have changed a few things over the years, They are easier to clean, and less prone to the cable shorting out with the newer input design, but one thing that hasn't changed is the fact that Astro headsets are extremely comfortable. I have never felt like I NEEDED to take them off due to the top of my head hurting, or from ear fatigue, or from the sides of my head hurting. They are light weight and do not put a squeeze on your head like other gaming headsets tend to do. No they are not the greatest sounding headset ever made by man like some would have you believe they are good; however, there are better sounding headphones that exist for sure. I have other more expensive headphones that I use as well from time to time for various reasons. But when it comes to gaming a pair of Astro A40s and A50s have always had a place on my desk at work and at home. They are the only headset I have ever owned that made my ears more comfortable to wear than to not wear. I can keep them on for any amount of time. Not kidding I have gone to lans and literally worn them for over 24 hours only taking them off to go to the restroom or whatever. They are one of the best gaming purchases I have ever made and I will continue to replace them as they get old or I want a newer set. I cannot recommend these enough. All the hype and advertising aside, they absolutely amazing for their purpose. Long gaming sessions by people who don't want to think about anything else but their game. If you are considering buying a pair, do it. They really are amazing!

They sound great. The mic never worked. Way too much time spent trying to resolve this issue.

I was a previous owner of the Astro A40's before it became Astro A40 TR. I didn't feel the need to upgrade at first, as the A40s were working just fine. Then I accidentally broke the USB part of my Mixamp and had to get a newer mixamp (the TR version). After having it for a couple of months, I decided to pull the trigger and buy the TR headphones. I wasn't expecting a lot of difference, but there are a few perks I like now: This headset feels more comfortable than the older A40. I have earrings and an industrial that hurt after playing a while with headphones. So far that hasn't happened to with the newer padding on the TRs. I want to get the mod kit to see if that adds more comfort. I did notice a boost in sound quality. I'm not an audiophile, so I can't tell you what is going on or why. But it does sound clearer/richer than the older A40. I think both still have great sound ,but the TR slightly better. People on my games are saying they can hear me better on my mic. That is always a good thing. overall if you are looking to buy a new pair of headphones, I love Astros. I will keep buying from them as needed. If you are looking for an upgrade, it depends on what you are looking for. The older style A40 may be just fine for you. If you like having newer and able to mod it with the kits, then definitely look into these.

These things are great. They work with PC/Xbox One Controllers/PS4 and any 3.5mm jack. They surround sound is great and paired with the mix amp they have great adjustability. The best part though it the material they use for the contact with your head. Its very comfortable. Its not like the stuff cheap rough plastic found on other so called hi-end headphones. Looking at you Turtle Beach. ( I returned there 800x right away after trying them for 5 minutes ). My only grip is I wish the cable was longer.. Its short and when you have a mix amp it can limit your range. Sure you can get a 3.5mm extender but then it just doesnt look as clean. I liked them so much I purchased the a50 as well. So far I am a fan and I've had this pair for 6 months.

Had issues with drivers and apparently if u don't use mix amp the whole headset is horrible quality imo.

Had item 2 months. No audio. Audio cable is proprietary, limiting replacement cables.

The sound and bass is amazing. very good noise cancelling. no problems and a very well built headset well worth the money!
