I'm a long-time engineer and IT professional. I bought this as a lightweight computer I could tote along just in case I needed a basic computer wherever I happened to be. It's fine for email, basic web browsing or even playing videos. I also use it to do remote assistance connections, so it's quite useful. My company only uses Win 7 and Office 2010, but I needed something I could use in case a situation came up that called for Office 2013 and Windows 8.1. This computer includes both, and cost less than buying copies of just those software packages! So I actually made money by purchasing this for $150! And today I see it on sale for $130! I may buy another one at that price. I also added a 64 GB micro-SD card for more storage for less than $25. I had one instance where it didn't shut down and reboot properly, but other than that it's been flawless. With casual usage I only charge it every few days...battery life is excellent. Still not a Win 8/8.1 fan, but as I said, that's one of the reasons I bought it. For it's intended purpose I could not ask for anything more in this price range.

Has everything you need to do most everyday tasks without all the bells and whistles. I expanded the memory with a microsd card and it has more than enough space for light downloading and more than enough for document creation. Great for surfing the internet or checking email when on a trip due to its small size and portability. Also a great battery life.

Like most other reviewers, I was primarily a Mac user. However when I saw this open box for $138, I decided to try it out. It is solidly built for being plastic (this plastic is very, very sturdy and matte) and the design is very curved and beautiful. I didn't expect this much from a Windows PC! Especially one under $200. I upgraded to the free Windows 10 (but had to hook up an external drive since there was not enough on board storage.) Speaking of storage, beware that even if you plug in external drives/micro sd cards, ANY apps downloaded from the Windows Store cannot be transferred as of the latest W10 build. Hopefully Microsoft addresses this soon. However, programs downloaded from other sources may be installed on external drives. The computer is a little slow on CERTAIN content-heavy sites, but gets the job done more conveniently than a smart phone. But most sites are optimized well and the experience is smooth overall. Especially with video streaming sites like YouTUbe, etc. I have even installed steam and can pay older games on lower settings. This is okay for me and a nice little bonus. Overall, if you're only using this for traveling or getting work done, it is definitely worth it. Not to mention it looks nice.

This guy is small and light weight, just under the dimensions of a sheet of paper. It replaced a dinosaur laptop running vista. The battery life is great, you can easily get through a good day of surfing on a single charge. These things should come with Windows 10 installed, I needed a 9+ Gig USB flash drive to complete the upgrade because of the windows 8 partition scheme. Beyond that I had no issues with the upgrade. Once you are on windows 10 it runs faster and you have much more drive space then on Windows 8. I loaded Office 2010 as I have a retail copy, it runs perfectly on the device. I picked this up on sale and I am very happy with it.

The Asus x205 TA is a great pc for a student. The battery lasts for a long time, at least 8- 10 hours. The notebook has a good size screen (11.6"). The keyboard is responsive, and the trackpad is excellent. This is the best value priced notebook I could find. Free Microsoft Office for a year, light weight (2.2 lbs). and long battery life.

For a $200 laptop, this is a very nice PC - and the fact that it comes with a year of Office makes it worth every penny. We bought this to replace a ~4 year old Dell Duo, which had a noticeably smaller keyboard and screen. The ASUS is by no means 'big', but the screen size and keyboard layout, along with the large track-pad, is definitely more comfortable that the T100 ASUS transformer that my daughter uses. The only thing you give up at this price point is a touch screen of course, but I still highly recommend this laptop for web browsing, document editing, and general office workload.

We intended to buy a computer for my daughter's first year of college. She decided to choose her own with some of her grad gift money. I was pushing for her to pick something with more features but the sized and convenience are actually very useful for her. The only thing we have had issue with so far is amount of memory. After she upgraded it to windows 10 there wasn't much left so we bought some more.

Great laptop, needed a new one after mine decided it wouldn't be used without being plugged in. Windows 8.1 is awesome. Fast, smooth movement between Windows 7 and Windows 8.1. A lot of customization options. Overall a really good laptop. My ONLY complaint would be the really low storage space. I was trying to install Windows 10, and before the download, it told me I needed 5GB free, so I deleted 4GB worth of stuff, did the download and now during the install it decides to tell me that I need ANOTHER 8.4GB free? Oh well, guess I'm not getting Windows 10 afterall. What a waste of time it was going through all that

This is a great sub-laptop if you are looking for very light (<2lb) and long-battery life (10hr+). These days, I bring this wherever I go, it proves day-long battery life and no issue if you primarily use it for note-taking or web browsing. One down sides though. is that the screen is too glossy and too much reflection from the screen. I may need to purchase screen saver separately.

My primary computers are Macs, but I wanted a low cost notebook to test out Windows 10. This is not a top of the line machine with top of the line parts. What it is an extremely economical, light weight, small laptop for basic computing. It will serve my needs of using it for Microsoft Office, Netflix and general internet surfing. For well under $200 I got a full Windows 10 laptop with Microsoft Office 365 and 1TB of storage for a year. That is a steal of a deal! On top of that the notebook battery last longer than any laptop I've ever used.

I was surprised how light 2lbs was, using it at work was a breeze. It does the job at fraction of time, I have local apps due to limit of 32gig on-board, but most of time I remote to my desktop that does all the crunching tasks.

I purchased this smaller laptop to replace a full size one and I am very satisfied with it. It's lightweight and compact, so it's very useful at meetings. It starts quickly and I haven't had any problems while using it. I haven't saved any informstion to the internal flash drive. If I need to save a file, I use a thumb drive. I would recommend this computer.

I need a computer small and light enough to havve with me all the time for work, documents and spreadsheets, and correspondence. This little guy helps me cope with the impossible delays on the northeast corridor. Others climb the train car walls, but I pull out this so far trusty little Asus, and the battery has been holding out better than the patience of my fellow travelers.

I got this while on vacation after accidentally leaving my laptop at home. It is lightweight, small and easy to pack away. I have used it several times while sitting on my front porch and prefer it over my older laptop because it is lighter and has a better screen resolution. I really can't see me going on a trip now and not packing this away to go with me. I have three trips coming up in the next 6 weeks and it will be going with me. It's easy to hook up with a new WiFi network, easy to learn and the battery life is excellent.

It is a truly remarkable product especially at the price it was offered in. My choice was either between this Asus laptop or a similar Acer one, I chose this one over the Acer simply because of the color and it felt more durable. Once you get use to the settings and how the laptop works, you will truly love it. The battery life rivals that of more expensive laptops. On a single charge, I can use it for a very long time (over 10-12 hours). Also, I like the design of the charger, it's not a hassle to carry out, there is no battery pack in the middle, everything is at the end of the adapter. This laptop was just a perfect match for me, apart from the time that it gets hot after continual use, I have found nothing wrong it (I've had it for about 2 and a half months now). Get this laptop. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars because I don't think anything can be perfect and there was no option for like 4.7 or 4.8, it was either 4 or 5. so you know.

My laptop no longer worked and it was so old that there was no point in attempting to bring it to working condition. So I bought this until I got all of the parts to build my new rig. This laptop is slim and lightweight, making it perfect for portability. I did a lot writing, web surfing, and was even able to play League of Legends. If you need a small, slim, lightweight laptop for lightweight workloads, this is the laptop for you.
