Hello everyone. This laptop is not the worse but don't expect high quality from it. Its good for regular internet browsing and your regular music, youtube, microsoft word etc. Problems i found : 1. For me its the speed, if you're someone that likes fast computers or at least decent speed when browsing or doing regular stuff you will not like it. If feels slow. 2. Another disadvantage is that its really difficult to upgrade the ram, only has one slot for upgrade and its under the motherboard. ( 8gb ram max) 3. I tried to install windows 7 with an authentic copy of Win 7 and I always got the blue screen.....googled the problem and found out it was actually a problem with the motherboard. At the end I was able to do it but I had to clone the hard drive from another laptop. Pros : Very light and quiet. Has a DVD drive and huge screen HDMI port and USB 3.0 500 GB hard drive ( i love it, specially at that price) Overall like I said don't expect anything amazing. Its great for a kid or for someone not expecting to have high performance from it. The price is great compared to other options. If you can deal with the slow part you will enjoy it.

This laptop is ok if you are just going to browse the web. but if you want to stream movies and tv shows, get something else! It is sooooo slow when streaming, and it has nothing to do with the internet speed. The screen is choppy and stutters and skips. Can't keep up with the sound and video together.

Bought this computer on 12/19/15 and this is the 4th time I have had to send this computer back to ASUS for problems with the innards. At the second visit good customer service would have been for Asus and/or bestbuy to replace it with a new one and take care of this problem on their time and dime. first had no access to programs installed, then keyboard failed, then disk reader went out now I have power but nothing else, no screen, no keyboard etc. Enough is enough!!!!!!!!! Someone needs to step up to the plate and replace this with the computer I thought I was buying - not offer me a refurbished one.

I wanted to wait a couple of weeks before writing a review. I purchased this laptop during the black Friday sale for $152.00 which included tax. So far I have no problems. My only complaint is installing ram in the future. I wish Asus would have made the ram easier to install without unscrewing the back casing . I love the keyboards, their nice and soft to touch. Everything is running smoothly. For those complaining about the slowness I suggest uninstalling programs that you aren't going to use. Download a pc cleaner like CC Cleaner to remove temporary flies and other junk that causes clutter. Use the disk cleaner that's already installed and defragment once a week. This will help speed up your laptop. So far my pc is fast. You get what you pay for but I'm very satisfied with this computer. I was also surprised at the look and exterior of the computer. It doesn't look cheap.

This review is based on the laptop that Best Buy is selling here. I actually own it and have used it. Be leery of fake reviews made by persons who do not/did not actually have the laptop in their possession when they posted their review. First of all, this is a low-end laptop. No one should confuse this with a high end machine, gaming laptop, or anything like that. Its really best suited for web-browsing and other low-end tasks. The processor, memory, disk performance of this laptop is similar to that of low/mid-level laptops that are 5-6 years old. The Celeron N3050 offers about 50% less performance than first generation i3's. It is comparable to Atom processors. The memory is modern, but this is single channel configuration. Only one DIMM is available and it is occupied by a 4GB module. If you want to upgrade, you must take it out and replace with a larger module. The HDD is Seagate brand, which is fine. However, Asus partitioned it roughly 40% for OS(C:\# and 60%#D:\# for you. I do not find that desirable. The usual bloatware is installed. You can take or leave most of it. The very first thing I did #and you should do) was uninstall MacAfee software. Its a big time resource hog that offers no better protection than the built-in free Microsoft solutions. The second thing I did was install Classic Shell Windows 7 style start menu to replace that awful Windows 10 version. Other than that, you should be good to go on basic software. The overall hardware and feel is a mixed bag. The laptop is actually thinner and lighter than I thought it would be. The materials are ok. Screen resolution is fine for a budget laptop. All the usually connectivity is there. However, note that there is no gigabit LAN. Also, the wireless is only N #I believe and not AC capable). There is a USB 3.0 port, which you can use with a multiplier if you need more. This brings me to the only real deal breaker some may experience. Celeron N3050's do not require active cooling thanks to low TDP of 6 watts or less. Also, neither does the low TDP Intel graphics. None needed for the motherboard. I cannot, for the life of me, understand why there is a cooling fan on this laptop. And, get this, it runs on high all the time no matter what. Terribly loud! If you plan to use this in a classroom setting, this will be the deal breaker. There is no way to shut if off or turn down the speed. My Asus G75 gaming laptop is considerably quieter with both fans running during the most intensive tasks I can throw at it. I would be embarrassed to use this in school setting, its so loud. Being that I plan to use it for security camera duty, its fine for me. Others will want to take this back to the store on this point alone. You have been warned. I would take 2 stars off for the fan, but the Black Friday price was pretty fantastic. Overall and within a reasonable expectation, this is a solid low-end laptop.

This computer does the basic stuff well. If you are looking for a laptop for internet surfing, word processing, and other basic office functions, this computer does a good job for the price. Before buying I read other reviews, and the biggest complaint I saw was that this computer is slow. While it will not break speed records, it is not a snail. I would recommend this computer if you are looking for a device for day-to-day basic tasks. If you are looking for a gaming device, you will be disappointed.

Just got yesterday, spent last night and today playing around on it. Price was great, and I am surprised of quality for that cheap. Its very lightweight but not in a cheap way, the hinge on the screen is tight, don't expect problems there. Graphics are very good, surfing, email, paid bills played some online games, all went very well. Just as others said, remove the Mcafee because it does slow things down and is not necessary. As soon as you delete from control panel, Windows Security pops up and asks to install. It runs smoother without. CD Rom works fine, I like the keyboard, keys are short like others have said but I can deal. Graphics are another surprise for price, colors are crisp. Doesn't feel clunky in your lap and almost no heat from the bottom to burn your legs. All in all a very good buy. If you are looking for something just to play around online, play some CDs, email, fb, etc.

Worse comp ever, everytime I used earbuds the sound would stop working! I had to have it tech support at least 10 times & also had to take it onto the store so that geeksquad could work on it, & they replaced the harddrive without saving my pics & music, so I lost it all. Finally, A customer service agent sent me a label to return the comp for a refund, & now it's been 2 months & still I haven't received my money. Smh!
