Laptop will be used for school which starts in a week. Good so far. Not used to Windows 8.

I bought this laptop mainly for school work and its working great. I have no problems with it and its running smooth and fast.

We are happy with our new asus computer. Hard working, lots of options, durable.

Windows 8 is awful. Has mind if it's own. The computer itself runs well, fast.

First time I am buying an Asus laptop, as I had a Dell, a Compaq, and a Lenovo. This was my second one, because the first one I purchased, had dead pixels, and the good people at Best Buy, replaced immediately. Thank you Geek Squad. I bought this because, except Bluetooth, it had everything else I wanted, including a DVD drive, which sometimes is not included in some, even, high priced laptops. It seems as they, DVD drives, may not come standard any longer. Show of hands for those who remember a standard diskette drive on home PC's. The second thing that made me buy it, was the high ratings, from other owners, over 100 reviews, which you don't see often. Firstly, this is an aesthetically pleasing laptop. It looks as if it's made from grey steel, and even though its not, I like it. It gives it a premium look and feel. It comes with your standard, 500GB hard drive, and 4GB's of memory, and that's plenty, for most of us, hell 99% of us. For those looking to send a spaceship to Mars, might want to get a little more memory. The rest of you stop whining, internet browsing, checking email, and writing the occasional word document, does not require much memory. As for you gamers, I say, buy a game console and stop complaining. No one cares. Also, get a life. What you will not find in most laptops at this price, is an Intel i5. But this one has it, and it's pretty fast. I like the way the keyboard keys are spaced out, and makes it easier to type, at least for me. I also love the mouse pad, I like the two finger scrolling, and I don't know if this an Asus thing, or if it's standard. This thing is also light to hold, feathery like. Okay, maybe not feathery like, but also not a brick. I think it's around 5 lbs, it's just feels that it weighs even less. There are only two USB ports, but seriously folks, who uses more than two at the same time. The screen is pretty standard, 1366x768, but look what you are paying for this thing. Don't forget most laptops have resolutions similar to this. i however like the screen plenty. Do I wish for better resolution? I do but I will survive. Battery life may not be great, but it will last for a few hours. HDMI output is standard. I also was a Windows 8 hater, I still am. I upgraded to 8.1, and I like it a lot better. All in all I love Asus, and I love this laptop. I think I made a great purchase for all that is included Why four stars you say? I am waiting for Asus to dazzle me with some other laptop in the near future. I mean they have some other ones that are very close to five stars, but they are also in a different price range. Buy it, you would thank me, but mostly Asus.

I like it but it's slow, it all of a sudden started running slow, but. It is a good gaming computer.

I bought my first Asus laptop 1 year ago. I had some worries over this brand because I really had never heard of it. I went to my Best Buy store 3 times, talked to the same sales associate before I finally said okay, and bought it. I'd never had a laptop before, so I wasn't sure what to expect. It's the best decision I've made in a long time. It's a great laptop. Works wonderfully. This brings me to my recent purchase of this 2nd laptop. I live with my parents and my mom's old desktop computer had been fixed after our house was struck by lightning. My mom's 77 and insisted it be fixed--despite the fact insurance would cover a new one. One year later the computer finally was giving her problems. She liked my laptop and wanted one for her own. I couldn't get the model I had so I waited until a newer version came out. It did, and I bought it. My mom is overjoyed. I've got to admit, we do not like Windows 8. It's okay, but not friendly. My Asus has Windows 7. I like it. There are some redeeming features of Windows 8--but not enough to make me update. Anyway, Asus makes a great low-cost laptop. We are both happy with our laptops.

We have several laptops in our home and did not want to buy a desktop. We did our research and friends recommended this laptop as a great value for what we were going to use it for. Great buy all around.

Bought this for my future brother-in-law. He uses it to play all his steam games, takes to class, and uses chat with it. Seems to be a good buy for him.

This laptop is great for the price. I got it for normal stuff by was surprised to find out it can handle video games as well. My wife plays sims four on high settings without a problem as well as my steam games. Great laptop

Asus has always been great quality and this lower end laptop is no exception. It is constructed sturdy and works well. Easy setup and configuration. I like the fact that I can expand memory and am planning to do so soon. Overall, for the price, this is a great laptop

I have 3 Asus laptops, they are all great, this particular one is the only one with touch screen. It has worked flawlessly since I've owned it, very fast and responsive. Great product

I bought this computer for home use: internet surfing and creating DVDs from home videos. The computer came with Windows 8.0 (which I knew). The first thing I did was do the updates, then upgraded to 8.1. (It did take about 1/2 day to do all the updates, then download 8.1, so allow yourself a lot of time). The computer has been excellent for the purposes intended and I am very happy with it.

I bought this computer for school and so far I'm happy with it. I like the processor speed for the price I paid. I liked that it also had for windows. My only complaint would be there is no keyboard light which can be annoying but overall it's a good computer.
