If you are looking for a good little computer that can handle some light editing.
The touchscreen is responsive and well designed.
For the price it’s a computer you can rely on.

Overall great. Good price. Can be slow to start up. I use this for work and stream Skype plus my work software nearly 8 hours a day. It works well as long as I give it time to start up.

I bought this Laptop because the staff member recommended it, i usually buy cheaper Laptops because i go through them like water, the Laptop works well when it's fired up, but the time it takes this Asus to start is painful.
From the time i lift the lid to i'm able to actually work is from 8-15 minutes, just powering it on takes several minutes, other laptops i have it starts on it's own when you lift it, this one you have to hit the power button, not a problem but in order for you to get it to power on you need to hold the button 25-30 seconds, that doesn't seem reasonable.
Once you finally see the Asus Logo the pasinful wait begins, then after several minutes the login screen comes up, it's still freezing at this point and seems to be warming up, then i unlock it with my 4 digit code and the next wait starts.
After the system finally gets warmed up i attempt to open my browser (i use Chrome) it opens but you must wait yet another few minutes to stop the freezing, then i usually close the window via ctrl-alt-delete and open a fresh window instead of hitting "resume" or i'd wait another 3-5 minutes.
I bought this laptop as an open box to save some money, i'm sure that's why the person that bought it returned it, i've been using it a couple weeks now and still have these same issues.
I'm going to bring it back and see if there's something they can recommend i do to get it up faster, because once it's up it's ok, but life's too short to waste 15 minutes several times a day to start my Laptop.

Dear Skid,
I do understand your disappointment if you are experiencing slow system speed or performance with the laptop. In order to maintain optimum system stability and performance, cumulative WINDOWS Update needs to be installed periodically. If you are accessing web applications, please make sure the unit has access to an established router and internet service is working properly since this will definitely affect system speed and performance. Also, clearing internet cache or browsing history will improve system performance. To speed up the boot up time, you may need to disable services or processes, not being used, in the Startup menu. If you need further assistance, please email me at [email protected] and I would be happy to help.
Thank you for choosing an ASUS product.
Regards,
Rodel ASUS Customer Loyalty

This is a great computer for a typical college student. My only complaint is that it takes longer than my MacBook to startup but once windows is running it works fine.

Purchased this for my son for college-freshman year. So far he does not have any complaints and has been able to do every task on this little gem that has been needed.

I have had this laptop for 2.5 years now. Still running smooth. At the very beginning, I had used it here and there, as I just graduated college and the bulk of use on my old laptop was school work. I thought it was running slow, but I think it was just the wifi connection?
At the time, it seemed to be the best value for someone who didn't want to spend $1200 on a Mac. I was told by the Tech person in-store at best buy that this was comparable to the Lenovo Yoga and the only difference in price is because of Lenovo's name. This laptop also seemed to be the only "mid-price-range" type; you either spend $300 for a chromebook or $900+ for anything else.
I use the touch screen so often that when I use other computers, I try to use the touch screen. I am still happy with this purchase so let's hope this laptop lasts another 2.5+ years!

Good Value When on Sale

Found this on sale and open box so I was pleased with the value/performance ratio. Nice touch screen, good resolution and very bright.I really have only two issues.
A. Hard drive spins a long while after bootup. May be Win 10 trying to update after restart. (Oh, issue 1a, Windows 10 sucks!)
B. The power button is as inconsistent as United Airlines.
Sometime first push, sometimes the month of February. When unit goes to sleep, it's like a Rip Van Winkle sleep.
The i5 chip is fast enough, battery life is good, and it is very light weight.

I was really surprised to see just how many features were packed into this laptop! The screen is so vivid that I honestly don't even notice that it is just 13 inches. Perfect weight, fits nicely into my 3 ring binder. Super fast internet connectivity and the touch screen feature is awesome! I am super happy I went with Asus! Best Buy never disappoints!

GOOD BUT NOT GREAT

I have always used HP Laptops for my entire life. From when I first started school until I got my MBA. But now that I don't have the need for the daily use of a laptop, I opted to go with something a little cheaper. The specs are great, but I feel like it doesn't translate well into daily use. The laptop sometimes take a bit of time to boot and there is definitely a slowness to how quickly the apps open and close, especially if you are running multiples apps at the same time. Not bad by any means, but you get what you pay for.

I love my laptop, I really do. The processing speed is amazing, the 2 in 1 factor is convenient and helpful, and the
size is nice, not too big or too small. I did run into an issues shortly after I bought the laptop, where if I switched my laptop from laptop view, to tablet view (flipped the screen all the way), it would short out, and sometimes take a long while to start up again. I wound up with a manufacturing defect, and had to get a new one. I hear that this is common in 2 in 1's, but it is something to consider.

My girlfriend had been complaining for a while that she needed a new computer. It didn't help that I had just gotten a brand new one for work and of course she needed one too. She wanted a touchscreen and one that would convert into a tablet and this was the perfect one for that. It had everything she wanted, it has good performance, good battery life it was everything we could hope for in for a really good price. The only thing it didn't have that I would have liked is a CD drive. But you can't have everything

Runs slow for downloads, even laptop updates take long, like 2 - 3 hours. Sometimes screen doesn't turn on after closing screen and re-opening screen. Touch screen feature works great though. Two corners on my laptop were uneven, so it wobbles like 2milimeters when placed on flat surfaces. Thus, 3 stars from me.

I purchased this laptop as a Christmas gift to myself. It's got a beautiful touchscreen for the price point. The backlit keyboard is a very nice touch for those who are using it in less than bright light conditions. It's got good battery life and is the right size and weight that you can haul it around all day without feeling fatigued by it. As my "daily driver", it's been very dependable and does what I need it to do.

This is a very good laptop purchased at a reasonable price and I'm happy with my purchase. The core i5 processor is plenty fast for my use and the device is thin, fairly light, very good looking and has a really high quality screen. My only concern is that the battery life is short when running in unplugged mode. I have purchased an SSD drive to replace the 1 tb hard drive and expect that I will feel the benefits of even faster processing.

Very happy with this laptop. I have a 17" ASUS for work, needed a smaller laptop for work travel. Luckily I got this on sale before Christmas. Has everything you need: performance, size, touch screen, compact, good battery life. Satisfied customer!

I was traveling to the east coast and my computer died. Found a Best Buy and a very helpful sales associate at 7:00. He was able to help me find a computer that met my very specific needs. Computer was easy and fast to set up since I had to have all of my data transferred to the new computer by 6:00 am for my training. The touch screen that folds back and works as a tablet is a huge improvement. The keyboard has a nice touch and key spacing is good. I am still playing with my touch pad sensitivity but getting closer to what I prefer. It is a very nice small compact design for travel but does not feel small when you are using it. It does not have an either net port, which i assume it due to its thin profile. I would purchase this item again, even if i wasn't in a pinch while traveling. This computer and Dropbox saved me and the client had no idea that there was a issue the night before.
