when i got this monitor I was thrilled. I have never played a FPS game on anything but a console and tv with input lag. This awesome experience was cut short when I got a red dot stuck on the upper left corner. This happened just 2 days after the 14 day return/exchange period ended. It was tiny so i was reluctant to go through rma
but i just couldn't stand paying so much for anything less than a perfect process so i took a chance. They sent me a fed ex shipping label due to the stink i made about paying to ship it. I sent it off and hoped for the best.
It sent and came back to me in 4 days! I was very happy with that! I actually got my same exact unit back too! obviously not guaranteed but I got mine back. This excitement was also short lived when i realized that my power cable they returned to me was damaged. the bottom prong was bent all the way back in between the other to prongs. I called and was asked to send pictures so they "know what one to send me" which i knew was BS cause their first initial request was so they can see the damage but when i laid it out in common sense terms that why the heck else would i call you right after i receive it , then it turned into a pic of the cord so they send me the right one. Truth be told, it was just the ground prong so i just bent it back an BLAM I could not believe what i had in front of me! This thing is better than when i first got it! I dont know what they did but there is ZERO light bleed, ZERO dead/bright pixels and almost seems like the colors are more vibrant.
So I was gunna rate 4 stars but in the mail today i got a brand new charger for my monitor! So hey if you are patient and understanding of the fact that electronics have issues then i would def recommend ASUS for the pure fact that they actually take care of their customers in a prompt manner. The bent pin is not their fault. I know that happened in shipping so a well earned 5 stars for my product and ASUS in general!

Great monitor, especially for a TN panel

I used to have a PB278Q from asus, which was an IPS, to upgrade to the swift for the obvious benefits such as g-sync and 144hz and my largest concern was the fact that it is a TN panel. I can safely say though that this is probably the best TN panel I've ever seen. The color reproduction is solid and color shift is rarely noticeable if it all when sitting directly in front of the monitor.
Also, g-sync is well worth the money, would never play graphically intense games without it again.

10/10. The difference from a really bad 23 inch 60hz monitor and this 27 inch 1440p 144hz beauty is unbelievable. My aim is so much better and no matter how fast you are moving you can see enemies. I have my games set to run about 70-144 fps on a single gtx 780. With G-Sync it is so smooth with no tearing or lag at all. You can’t even feel huge frame drops. If you are on the fence just get it.

Great Screen

This is a monitor I would only recommend to someone who needs a lot of screen real estate and only wants 1 monitor (for 3d rendering or gaming). This is an awesome monitor for gaming, everything looks great on the monitor and I really like that I can have it in portrait or landscape with a quick move.
If you play games and have a higher end GPU (780ti SLI, 970 SLI, 980+) This monitor gives you an amazing picture, if you don't have a higher end set up, then this isn't the monitor for you.
Only has 1 input and it's a display port so you have to have a newer GPU to use it. This monitor is great with Flight Sims as well.

I tried a lot of different displays before using this monitor to game on, this one was the best! G-Sync makes my games smooth and I don't have any tearing like the tv I was using had!
My monitor is perfect it doesn't have any dead pixels or backlight problems.
This monitor is amazing!

Great monitor at a premium price. G-sync is great, ulmb is nice if you need it, and the clarity is excellent. However, this is my second ROG as my first one I bought else ware had a bad joystick and wasn't working properly. This one didn't come with any of the flaws as the previous one so I'm glad for that. I am docking a star due to quality control and extremely limited stock.
**GeForce Experience issue: Be aware that with the latest geforce experience software installed (2.1.3), and if you run a dual or triple monitor setup where the other monitor(s) run at 60Hz, then you will get very bad fps lag on the 60Hz monitor. Uninstalling geforce experience fixes this issue, and some have even downgraded to version 2.1.1 and the problem stops. The Nvidia forums have many posts about this issue and Nvidia is aware of it (hopefully). Not a problem with the monitor, just the geforce experience software.

NO WINDOWS 10 DRIVER; There is a Windows 10 driver for the newer PG279Q, but not the PG278Q. I don't suspect there will be.
Any refresh rate outside of 60hz will cause the monitor to shut off with "Out-of-Range" error. I'm running an ASUS Hero VIII Motherboard, with an ASUS Strix 980Ti.
Contacted ASUS support about it. They told me to update my video card drivers. #Supportfail. Drivers are all up to date; no Windows 10 driver for the Monitor. It is only recognized as "Generic PNP Monitor".
2 dead pixels on a $800 Monitor.
Do yourself a favor before buying this monitor - Google Asus Swift Out of Range.

I purchased the monitor after reviewing extensively on line. There were a mixture of glee and disappointment, not because the monitor was bad, but the quality control. So far I have had no issues with the monitor so I can't give it a lousy score at this time. Would I recommend this monitor. Yes, if you want fast 144hz, 1ms, with 8 bit color, this is the monitor.
