Great Specs, Poor QC, Overpriced
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I really wanted to like this monitor; I'd just built a new PC; the red ring matched my fans / LEDs; the physical designed, angles, and aesthetics matched my case exactly; I finally had a machine that could put out 144 fps at 1440P, and I wanted to see what it could do (as opposed to a presentation bottlenecked by the cable or monitor to 60 fps); I really wanted to like it. I did my research. The monitor had quality control issues, including backlight bleed. It uses a TN panel, but I was repeatedly assured that it still delivered great color. I purchased and returned this monitor twice, and here's why: Pros: Construction Quality -- the stand and design are excellent, well built, high quality materials, premium feel. Ergonomic -- the stand is extremely adjustable, it is easy to adjust it, and it holds the position you leave it in. High Refresh Rate -- as advertised. Screen Size -- 27 inches is great. Resolution -- 1440P is pretty much the sweet spot... it's sharp and looks great, and you can still obtain very high framerates with a single card. Cons: Color -- it's a good TN, but the colors still don't pop, and the blacks aren't great. I was not impressed by them. Quality Control -- both the panels I received had backlight bleed, the first was severe, the second was tolerable. But, this was all around, not just one corner. Panel Issues -- this appears to be an issue with the panel; it's not a defect, and it's not limited to certain models; it's just the way the Swift is, and this is the "screen door effect." In short, the panel produces a screen door like pattern on bright colors in motion. Once you see it, you can't unsee it, and it destroys the user experience. It's also obvious. All in all, it's a good monitor, but it's not worth $799.00. I probably wouldn't spend more than $400.00 on it. The poor colors and quality control issues alone would make me wary, and the screen door effect just ruins the experience altogether, by distorting images. What's the point of a high refresh rate if the panel is going to butcher the image? While I was originally impressed by the resolution and size, I quickly found myself upset with the backlight bleed. Even after i swapped it out for a model with less evident bleed, I was still unsatisfied with it. This is definitely a product built on specs and not the user experience. It's too bad. It had great potential. I'll wait for the new Acer Predator, or buy a non-G Sync Samsung or LG with better color, resolution, and quality control... as well as a panel that doesn't destroy my gaming experience by leaving barred lines on bright, fast moving objects. If there was competition in the market when this was released from a resolution / refresh rate / adaptive sync stand point, this monitor would have been a bust.

Amazing if you win the panel lottery
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This monitor is by far the best I have ever used. The colors are excellent for a TN panel and the detail of 1440p is really a step up from 1080p. G-Sync is also really helpful for smoothing out frame rate fluctuation. The problem I have with this monitor is its quality control. I read reviews on multiple websites and all had reviews commenting on the poor quality control. The first monitor I received had a dead pixel. I exchanged it and now the second one I got has back light bleed on the bottom of the panel. I will be exchanging again and hopefully I get a good one the third time around. If you don't mind playing the panel lottery this really is a top of the line monitor when you get a flawless one.

G-sync is my new standard for gaming.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.1440p, 144hz refresh rate, G-sync technology equals all my games look stunning and tear free. I want to say my monitor is perfect which it almost is but I have one dead pixel in my top left corner. Its not a big deal while gaming so i'll live with it. For the price though I was expecting perfection but all the pros out weigh that one con. BB price matched and I received such a good deal I almost bought two.

Awesome
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is an outstanding monitor, the color is good for a TN panel and the refresh rate is awesome. G-Sync is a cool technology. The monitor being height and orientation adjustable is a great feature as well. Only works via Displayport but it does come with a cord which is a huge bonus. If you want the best picture with a 970, 980 or 980ti this is a solid contender. I'm extremely happy with mine.

Best gaming monitor on the market
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The ASUS PG278Q, otherwise known as the ROG Swift, is advertised as a high quality gaming monitor, and it really is just that. G-Sync works perfectly with my GTX 980, and the screen is surprisingly colorful for a TN display. The base is of a very high quality and the design and LED ring are a nice touch. My one complaint is the slight glare I get on the screen, likely due to its matte coating.

Could not wait any longer for the PG279Q (IPS)
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was waiting for the new IPS panel with G-Sync, but was always out of stock or back ordered. Even today, I still do not see any availability for the newer PG279Q. I was keeping an eye on the PG278Q as a backup and decided to pull the trigger when it went on sale with a great deal for $550. A lot of reviews mentioned dead pixel and back light bleed problems, but my unit did not have either of these issues. I was really interested in the IPS panel for its color reproduction and better viewing angles. I am very happy with this purchase and have been using the monitor on my custom built gaming rig for about a month. Since I sit directly in front of the monitor for gaming, the viewing angle color shift has not been a problem for me. I love the size and turbo on the fly feature of this monitor. My only issue (and it really is a minor nitpick) is the color ring on the base stays lit when the monitor is in standby mode when I turn off the PC.

Best Ever
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was waiting for something like this for a long time. if you have the GPU horsepower you need one now! no problems after 2-3 months. the viewing angles for a TN panel are great. 144 HZ is hard to beat and there is no lag whatsoever.

WOW!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Amazing monitor! I read lots of horrible reviews on this product. And was quite hesitant to pull the trigger on this one. No dead pixels, No color bleed, and lastly they added a windows 10 support. Screen is HUGE and beautiful crisp clean colors. 144hz and loving it! Never drops below 100fps. Most stuff is in 120+

Q: QuestionCan a single GTX 760(2gb) run two of these monitors while using Adobe Photoshop? My PC has an i5-4690, 16GB ram, x97 mobo, and 500 GB ssd. I only game on one monitor, but for productivity I use two(24",1920x1080). Will my GTX 760 be capable of driving these monitors? I will be learning and using Photoshop extensively in the fall.
Asked by Student.
- A:Answer This would greatly under power the monitor also being a TN screen and you doing artwork you may want to look into a really nice ISP 1080 monitor over this. It has like most TN screens, color issues and this ones issue is with greens. You would need to step up the video card to really make use of the full power of this display for gaming and if not really for gaming then it's the wrong type of monitor for photoshop work where color accuracy is a big deal.
