I don't remember where I purchased this one from, but it's definitely a great deal and the price is right! Yes it is a newer revision with a different chipset being using. Yes it does work very well in Linux, I have personally got it to have full signal and throughput in Ubuntu and Mint. Others say that it can also be done in Fedora as well. It is NOT a problem with the actual device, it's a problem with lack of support for the chipset due to the manufacture doesn't fully support open source. Quick easy fix to get it going: http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=2205444&p=12967859#post12967859 Hope this is a help!

I absolutely love ASUS products, so had high hopes for this, but it doesn't deliver. I ended up using an old adapter instead, since this one has minimal range and does not seem to maintain a signal consistently, dropping it regularly.

    Great Network Adapter

Purchased this adapter to hook up my 6 year old HP desktop to my wireless network. Ran the disk plugged it in and it works great. Only wish I had ordered two at the sale price but will probably get another you just dont know when you might need to add to your network. Will also set it up to work in our Airstream to use when we go camping. Most campgrounds now offer WiFi .

    Fast and Easy

Took me about 1 min to get this hooked up and running on my windows 7. It very simple to use (put in the disc and follow the directions). Now my web pages and sites load extremely fast... while telling you how fast and what speed thing are moving. Also, when you begin setup, it has a nice window that automatically opens up with a clear and easy to understand menu that allows you to find everything you need in an instance. You really can't bet the prices and the quality of the item.
