Customers regard the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4080 TUF Overclock as a high-performance graphics card with excellent cooling capabilities, resulting in quiet operation even under heavy load. Many appreciate its superior build quality and the impressive frame rates achieved in games, although some find the card's size and price to be drawbacks. A few users reported experiencing coil whine, a common issue in some graphics cards.

Ordered on Best Buy.com and was ready for store pickup in 20 min. Thanks Best Buy. I was worried about this card not fitting in my case, Corsair 4000D, but it fit. I did have to move my radiator from the front of my case to the top but after doing so I was able to fit this behemoth in. This is a large GPU. I have about an inch gap from the GPU to the backend of my fans mounted to the front of my case . This card replaced my 3080ti and I can honestly say there is a difference in performance. This card is staying cooler than my 3080ti. Tested COD:Modern Warfare at 4K resolution on ultra settings with ray tracing and DLSS cranked high on my 4K monitor…and wow. My FPS were always at or above 166 fps at 4K. I have no regrets buying this card and it was worth the money and patience. My current setup:
I9 12900 CPU
Asus Z690E motherboard
64 GB Corsair vengeance DDR5 memory
(2) Samsung 980 M.2 drives
Corsair 1000 watt fully modular power supply
Corsair 280mm AIO
Four 140mm Corsair ICUE RGB fans
*Make sure you have an ample PSU if upgrading. So far system is stable without issues.

Powerful card but...

Powerful card but it is more expensive then the other 4080's. Which is why i took off one star. The build quality is fantastic. And is overclock to get more performance then the orginally version.I have throw some of the most demanding games at ultra high with ray tracing and getting over 120 fps. Of course am playing at 1440p, manily because 4k is overrated. I have played games at 4k and 1440p but never could really tell the difference most of the time between the two. This card is one of the most powerful cards I every owned but the big drawback is it price. Was seeing on getting a 4090 but of course those suckers are never in stock and the 4080 is more available and a little bit cheaper then the 4090. When I got my 4080 it came with a free game at the time which is a plus. This card is very powerful I will not need to upgrade my gpu for many years to come on how powerful this GPU is. Also this gpu is very big and heavy so make sure you have a big enough pc case for this big boy. This card looks great in my build. Happy with the purchesed at the moment.

Save some cash, buy the 4080 over the 4090!

I purchased a 4080 instead of a 4090 for 3 reasons.
1. Stock was an issue. I wanted the TUF 4090.
2. I couldn't justify a 50% bump in price for 30% more performance.
3. I was about to buy a 1000W platinum power supply from that 50% bump in price and still came out cheaper than the 4090.
That being said, I do not regret the purchase. The card easily monsters through any 1440p gaming, hitting almost 250FPS in Dying Light 2 and 150FPS in Cyberpunk with ray-tracing on and Frame Generation on.
If you game at 1440p, it's pointless to get something as much as the 4090 because you'll just be driving more frames than the average monitor can refresh at unless you spend much more in a 240hz monitor.

It's a good, powerful card. But it costs a kidney (doesn't need to be yours but...) and is huge so you have to consider that.
Nvidia just needs to cut like $300 off the MRSP of these to make them perfect.

Its alright, the 4090 may be more expensive for just 30% more performance but honestly just go for 4080. It can handle whatever you throw at it.

The card looks and feels very premium (despite very minimal rgb). The two reasons I say skip this though is that the price bump (from already $1200) doesnt justify the 5 extra fps you'll probably not notice and two, the coil whine is atrocious for a $1400 card. Def taking this back and probably just getting the FE model.

Brand response from ASUS Answers

Dear Brandondwn,
Please allow us to apologize for the inconveneince you are experiencing with your Graphics Card. It's unfortunate that this model does not meet your expectations, this is absolutely not the experience we want you to have and that you have to return it. All the electronic with DC-DC power conversion, will have some sort of “coil whine”, difference being the frequency range it falls in, some coil whine might be audible and some might not be, as well as some people might be very sensitive to the noise and some might not be. As long as the product functions correctly and without fault, any amount of coil whine is deemed acceptable and normal. Just like the car engine makes sound when you press on the gas.
Here are few way users can reduce coil whine, user can give it a try!
1. Get a soundproof case 2. Limit the frame rate of your games 3. Lower the graphical quality of your games 4. Underclock your GPU
