Overall I am very satisfied with this purchase the only reason I am not giving it 5 stars is because the battery is not detected in the laptop so I have to keep it plugged in if I want to use it. the performance of the laptop however, is phenomenal.

Bad news good news. Extremely pleased with the device, fastest thing since, well, fastest thing period. But keep having difficulty with the black screen of death. When going to news pages, I read a lot of them, the various ads playing automatically cause the screen to go black for a period. Multiple calls to ASUS which, while polite, seemed uninformed, in one case wanting me off the phone quickly to such a degree I had to tell him I needed him to stay on, and each instance I was told to try numerous things which made sense but didn't help. Finally I reached some one on the ASUS help desk who matter of factly told me it was a well known problem with Windows 10 and Intel. Well OK. He was great and I still struggle with it but my understanding is I basically have to wait for the two companies to work this out. All said customer service at Best Buy was very good.

I purchased this laptop because I wanted a lot of ram and speed. Not for gaming, however. This i7 processor is definitely fast and with the 16 gigs of ram I able to run Photoshop elements without any slowdown. Screen is good. I also installed a 250 gig SSD for the OS and it boots in less than 10 seconds! Much better than my 4 year old ASUS laptop that is now taking about 5-7 minutes! Only negatives thus far is terrible battery life of only about 2 hours or less. That's surfing internet and NOT gaming or Photoshop. Other thing is that it seems to run hot. Not sure if that is issue but it seems strange that it runs that way without putting any strain on it.

Everything you need for gamers and school work. The speed and graphics are a big step up from previous HP. Customer service was top notch. Thanks Best Buy!!

very good laptop for gaming, reasonable price. keyboard looks awesome

Laptop performance is immaculate! It comes with additional programs such as Gaming Rog (ability to modify core performance), opportunities to sign up for webstorage, Dropbox, and One Drive. It can run some of my most busiest games on Ultra graphics settings (ATS, FS 17, Skyrim: Special Edition, TS 2017). I'm beyond words by its performance thus far.

After a significant amount of research for buying a new computer for my wife and me, I settled on this computer, especially with the assistance of a Geek Squad team member. After ordering it online and having Geek Squad install a SSD, I had problems with the user account and keyboard back-lit display. Took it back to Geek Squad the next day after getting it back from the SSD being installed. Geek Squad made the repairs, and I picked it up a couple days later. Although the laptop booted up promptly when I tested it at Best Buy before I took it home, it failed to load past the welcome screen. Tried again two more times, then called up Geek Squad. They were also dumbfounded about the problem. Eventually had to return it, after going back and forth to Best Buy six times in two weeks. A profound disappointment, particularly because it had state-of-the-art specs, including 16 gigs of DDR4 RAM (the highest end consumer RAM available) and, an Intel i7 6700 quad-core cpu (the equivalent of an 8-core cpu). Although Lenovo is a great brand, this particular model was a lemon for me.

Bought this for my daughter cuz of her heavy gaming...Loves It,,,2 gig deidcated is great for the complex games...Highly recommend...

In my opinion, this is an awesome laptop but the battery life is a flaw

This is a very good computer with high quality. However same specs can be found in a much cheaper computer.

After owning a 17" HP Generic Laptop for several years (4+ years), I thought it was time for an upgrade. I purchased this laptop because I wanted a keyboard backlight, smaller screen and higher performance. This laptop has lived up to it's expectations and overall, am happy about switching to ASUS.

Great graphics, keyboard is very ergonomic, size is perfect. Does not overheat. Only complaint is super slow start up time
