Ended up returning it, because it would not sleep when I closed the lid, so the battery would be dead each morning; plus, it would spontaneously log itself off while I was working on it. The specs were what I was looking for, so I'm unsure what to purchase next.

Ive had this laptop for a couple of weeks now and it can handle any game on the highest graphics that I wish to play. It doesn't overheat and the fans are almost silent. Ive sat down and gamed on this laptop for hours and it was ready for more. If I was to need another laptop in the future I am gonna go with Asus because I looked at laptops with the same specs as this one and they were all $1500 and up. And stay away from alienware for one its a dell and two a worker at bestbuy told me that alienware overprices their products way too much.

Had nothing but problems with this laptop. Camera, speaker, and hard drive all failed in less than 8 months.

This laptop is wonderful. Its really light for a gaming laptop especially. It runs really effeciently and has a pretty decent clarity. The only cons I have are it comes with a lot of predownloaded software thats incredibly unnecessary. However thats not a huge deal because its easily removable.

I desperately wanted a decent gaming laptop. Found this thing online. I bought it and it arrived at the store far ahead of the scheduled time which I was EXTREMELY happy about. As soon as it was ready for pickup I rushed to the store to pick it up. When I opened up the box I was not disappointed. This laptop is beautiful. The build quality is quite excellent and the metal brushed finish behind the screen looks and feels really nice. The ROG symbol on the back lights up which looks really neat. It came with minimal bloatware too which is a plus. The McAfee will mess with things though so it's best to uninstall it and let Windows Defender do its job. However, as I was aware when I bought it, this thing is a fingerprint magnet. Make sure your hands are clean and do not eat while using this laptop. I did get a complementary wipe to help keep it clean which was nice. Basically ASUS' way of saying, we know this thing gets dirty. Here's a free wipe though :) You obviously want to know how this thing handles games though. And I can tell you that it handles games quite well for what it is. Don't expect to run many games on ultra at 60fps though. The main weakness is probably the GTX 960m, which is still leagues better than the integrated graphics on my old laptop. This laptop is fast and can handle a lot of things happening at once. However it does NOT come with an SSD out of the box. With an SSD, I'm sure the experience would be even better. One thing to note is that this laptop oddly has the power button at the top right with the keyboard. Which may bother some people slightly as you could accidently hit the power button as you are typing. But I've never had a problem with it. This laptop is one heck of a powerhouse, but it's not the best gaming machine ever. This laptop is excellent for the price, I knew generally what to expect and I was not disappointed one bit. This laptop exceeded my expectations. Would highly recommend as an entry level gaming laptop.

I got this laptop for couple days now. Play hard core games on it, and have the laptop maximize all the latest games I had. The laptop gets hot so easily, and fan is very loud when i play games like Fall Out 4, Game of Thrones,. Assassin's Creed Syndicate , Black Op III etc. Meaning I just use it for hardcore gaming. The 2 GB video card doesn't help much. The laptop is big is heavy. I would spend extra couple hundreds to get a Alienware. Asus makes very poor gaming laptop, I had a Asus Zenbook UX350, totally works fine for office works and business trips. But for gaming laptop, I think I will stay with Alienware. I wish the graphic card is 4GB dedicated, with only 2GB.. it can't run the latest games in smoothly. I end up returned the laptop and ordered an Alienware 13.

I would give it 5 stars for the speed, but like some of the other reviewers mentioned, the mousepad is hard to get used to and has a weird gap when you click on it.

Worst piece of __ I have ever owned. I returned the first one, thought it was defective. Nope, 2nd one was the same. screen goes black and freezes on the first day. it freezes. really? when screen goes black, only thing that you can see is the app store. exit the app store and it's black again. trash. a thousand dollars.. really?
