NEVER BUY ANY ASUS PRODUCT EVER!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Warning: If you buy any ASUS product, in my case a higher end laptop, and it breaks (manufactures warranty or not) THEIR CUSTOMER SUPPORT IS COMPLETELY USELESS. Had repeated and various problems and sent back laptop (4) times, all refurbished and non-functional. After the fourth time, I was promised a new model, still in the litigation process, been a month now and they are trying to send me another refurbished same model. I work as a supervisor in State Government and will do everything in my limited power to use a different company for Government business. Best Buy was excellent, and fully understand that models break down, but was severely disappointed in the customer service from ASUS. Buyer be extremely cautious. I just lost 1200$ to ASUS and have nothing to show for it. I was always told how great of a company ASUS was and how great their components are but that is NO LONGER TRUE! They have not won any significant awards since 2013 (you can look that up) and are no longer this great company. I bought the computer 11 months ago and have not had the computer in my possession for 4 of those 11 months. Here is my story, if you want the details of what I went through: I bought an ASUS notebook (Republic of Gamers) in 12/2015.....it failed in April 2015 for a failed component in my charger, it fried my daughter board, sent into their repair center....3 weeks later got the same model back and fixed...it failed AGAIN in July 2015 with a failed Intel Graphics card.... sent back to repair center....ANOTHER 3 weeks later got the same computer back fixed......failed AGAIN in Aug. 2015, failed NVIDA graphics card....sent in to repair...3 weeks later got a refurbished same model replacement.....had that for 3 weeks then failed AGAIN when a component failed in my screen....sent back in to repair center...3 weeks later got MY 2ND REFURBISHED same model and it came BROKEN!! It didn’t even work when I got it. I sent that model in the repair center, got there 11/4, they mixed up my RMA number so I did not match my serial number, took a week to figure that you, I was promised by their top supervisors that with this many failed model I would be eligible for a new, upgraded different model replacement. Couldn’t get ahold of the supervisor I have been talking to, she was avoiding my phone calls. I got an email from the support center that they are offering me AGAIN, THE SAME MODEL REFURBISHED replacement for the 3rd time. If I was to reject this offer, and they choose not to offer me anything else, they said they are going to SEND BACK MY BROKEN COMPUTER and that would be it! The customer support said they actually have nothing to do with what replacement you would get. It’s all up to the repair center, and you cannot speak to the repair center, because, “it is not in their job description to talk to the public.” All this has happened while in the manufactures warranty. I bought the computer 11 months ago and have not had the computer in my possession for 4 of those 11 months. Once again, beware, if you decide to go with ASUS because you are risking hundreds or thousands of dollars (in my case).

Lack of quality control ( July, 2016 )
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought a Asus GL552VWDH71 in early Feb. Returned it when I determined that the Intel Widi ( wireless direct ) did not work. Received replacement. Everything worked for a while. I noticed that the Geforce Experience wasn't working just like in the first one. After awhile, I went to the Nvidia web site and d/l'd the latest driver for my gpu. After many attempts to installed the driver, I finally called Asus support. Told them the problem, they had me do a "reset" ( reload os from disk partition ). You can't argue w/ these tech support ppl cuz they only know the "script" in the book in front of them. So I did it, it takes a while, and to no avail. Same problem, can't install the d/l'd driver. Called back next day, diff. person. Even tho I had just done it, they wanted me to do it again LOL. I think there was a slight twist but I can't remember. Again after hours of "reset", the next day I noticed in Device Manager that Win 10 OS had disabled the Nvidia gpu because it "reported errors" or something like that. Called Asus with this news, said to take it to Best Buy, they are supported repair center. Best Buy had it at repair center from July 2 to the 12. Repair log, online, said on the 12 sending it to vendor for addition repair. According to tracking, Asus received it on the 15 of July, On phone w/ Asus support, he said they have avg 3 business day turn around. I'm writing this on the evening of July 29, 2016. My figuring puts it at 10 business days and it still sits at repair center. Geek Squad at local store has been supportive but they can't do much because Asus center has it. Take this for what it's worth. Maybe I was just unlucky and got two bad one in a row.

HARD TO NAVIGATE
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I honestly hate this laptop. First of all the keys are red, I cant see them! The glow of the red is so hard to see. Then the volume wont work and its difficulty to see why. Seems to always want us to plug in headphones and then unplug them and the Walla, the sound comes back. Then there is Window 10 - OMG that's a whole other crazy mess. And favorites, ugh cant find how to save them.
