Excellent PC
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Picked this up to replace my dying laptop. And so I could do some gaming on the PC. Overall, it's what I could have expected it to be. The i7 processer is probably a bit overkill for this computer, but I don't get any hangups or issues playing full screen games on High graphics. I strongly recommend buyers of this computer install the ASUS tools available for it (like GPUTweak and Boost Launcher) they make a noticeable difference in performance. BTW, this computer overclocks the CPU by default but GPUTweak will overclock the GPU up to 120% safely. Happy Gaming!

Excellent gaming pc
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This was the first gaming pc I have ever purchased. It looks great and I haven't had any issues with it for over a year. I am still quite new to pc gaming and lack experience in buying pc's. The Asus - ROG Desktop really was a good idea for me and I am not disapointed with my purchase.

Excellent machine
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. With a high end 4gb NVidia card this machine is awesome. very quiet, no overheating problems yet. (saw one review that said theres did) But I have good ventilation and don't play for more than say 5 hours at any given time. Windows 10 came preloaded which was great. Plays all the current games great, call of duty black ops 3, battlefront, and fallout 4. The lites on front are pretty cool too if you care about that. The only issue is (and not really a biggie) is that the plug is pretty large that is separate from the machine itself, but works out find for me. I did buy the geek squad protection plan, as with this unit if you tinker around on the inside yourself to upgrade or even to look at it, voids the asus warranty. they tell you this right up front. so I bought it "just in case". Great machine I would buy it if I were you!

Excellent Rig, keeps its cool under heavy loads
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. At first, I was not sure about this somewhat odd shaped CPU. When I first started my research, I wanted to replace my ASUS gaming laptop with an ASUS High performance gaming CPU. I initially selected a traditional style ASUS gaming CPU over this one but ended up with this model instead because Best Buy had a great monitor /CPU package deal. The Alien spaceship looking design of the unit is a little different but it has grown on me. If you are wondering, how they can make such a powerful unit in such a tight space it is because they have moved the dual power supply (one for the graphics card and one for the CPU) outside of the unit. You will need to consider this when setting up the unit. Essentially a laptop power cord setup in the size of a brick that will need to sit in close proximity to the CPU. I like the customization lighting on it and the keyboard does light up and is an adequate gaming keyboard, although, I swapped mine out for a more robust Corsair keyboard. The CPU fits in my desk cubby with plenty of surrounding room to spare and is small and narrow enough to get good airflow all around it. Contrary to some of the reports, I have read online my rig appears to run cool. I have run Fallout 4, World of Tanks, World of Warships, and Armored Warfare all on max settings. They look fantastic and run great. After about two hours of game time, the highest temperature I have seen with the onboard temp monitor (AEGIS) was 43-51 °C. The model I have comes with the NVIDIA GTX 970 4GB card. I typically play for about an hour or two with the longest stretch of four hours on Fallout 4. Overall, very pleased with this rig and ASUS products. Thanks

Excellent Overall Computer
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Excellent computer... Fast, quiet and compact tower that has the power to run data intensive spreadsheets as well as online games. Battery pack is a bit clunky, but definitely worth it to save on the size and the heat reduction of the tower itself. Definitely recommend for an everyday multi purpose machine.

System is fast and smooth
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I wasn't quite sure about going with Windows 10 for compatibilty reasons with some software but so far everything I have installed works great. Everything operates good together the graphics card (gtx970) is amazing I have been running all settings maxed out with no hiccups. I'm not impressed with the audio but then again it's going thru a creative labs audio system which is older so that may be the reason. Setup was too easy went off with out a hitch. No room for expansion as with a conventional tower but it is a space saver . Power supplies seem a little small , time will tell if they hold up. I would purchase this system again.

Best computer for me
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My wife got this for me for Christmas. When I got it out of the box, there was a cable that didn't have any documentation for it. At first the monitor didn't work but then after I called Asus and Geek Squad and they didn't know, it magically started working. I run FSX with some addons and it runs real smooth, like it was a brand new program. The only thing that concerns me is that I'm not sure that I can change out the graphics card in the future. But it is compact and looke real cool.

Everything you want...
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I needed a new PC and as I am an avid gamer decided to go with a "gaming" machine this time (more power, memory,e tc.) so I wouldn't have to keep upgrading as I have had to do in the past. Was on the fence about this but took the plunge as the reviews were all excellent. So glad I did. the machine runs like a dream...quiet, cool and attractive. Compact enough to sit on my desk so its not collecting dust on the floor. Also gets better circulation. I use two huge monitors and the video card handles them with complete ease. My games look stellar and with one game that has simpler graphics I can run it at ultra settings with no lag or issues. If your a serious gamer, this machine is a must. If however your just looking to do some regular tasks, the machine is definitely overkill, get one of the Asus's without all the bells and whistles.

||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I needed a secondary PC with good select parts that did not require me to build it myself. I was disappointed the bios and overclocking are limited, but, this PC runs very well, and is whisper quiet, with cool temps.

Overall great gaming PC
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've been wanting a gaming PC for a long time and this computer has been great so far. It has a small footprint, is quiet, and has great specs. The GTX 970 combined with Intel's newest Skylake Core i7 6700 and 16 gigs DDR4 ram are a terrific combination for (relative) high end 1080p gaming. Some minor shortcomings - A computer with specs like this should also come with a solid state drive standard (even if it's only a smaller 128 gig drive). It's unclear if this desktop, which looks as unfriendly to upgrade as a Playstation 4 can be upgraded by the user to include said SSD. In addition, it was very difficult to get Nvidia's Geforce Experience up and running on this particular machine. (It kept freezing) After some extensive research online, I ended up removing a few programs that ASUS preinstalled and got it working. There were some MAJOR compatibility issues there. Also, this particular computer appears to desperately want me to access my free ASUS cloud storage. It reminds me every day and it's quite annoying. Besides the cloud storage, the machine is mostly free of bloatware. Keyboard - It's nice that this rig comes with a keyboard and mouse but the keyboard is a little stiff. It's not the most comfortable to type on for extended periods of time. Mouse is okay. Finally, the machine comes with a gigantic external power brick that sits on the floor. That won't be for everybody. Otherwise, I really like my new purchase. Highly recommend. Supplemental musings - As per recent announcements, I'm curious to see how compatible this machine is with all the new VR gear coming out, including the Oculus Rift.

Good computer for someone not wanting to upgrade
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Everything is good with this computer except for the SLOW hard drive system. It was a !%!!%$#%$$#% to upgrade the SSD drive but ASUS could have designed it so that upgrading to an SSD drive is a breeze. Yes I upgraded to an 1 TB SSD drive. CONS: 1) mechanical hard drive 2) the computer case form factor. 3) McAfee Virus... YES VIRUS. I'd rather have a virus than have this piece of !$!$% software slow down the system.

It looks like something a Predator would use
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I had to upgrade my computers and went through a hellish journey before finding this computer. It was the only computer that even came close to my needs. It's small, which make it fit on my desk nicely. The computer is fast, and has yet to give me any issues. The light display, though unexpected, has become something quite enjoyable. Two things were concerning to me. First, there is no way to install a second drive into this computer. All additional drives must be external. Second the DVD drive is a laptop drive. It works just fine, but is vertical at the center of the computer, instead of the traditional horizontal tray. The video card is phenomenal. I've played Doom on the computer, a truly graphics heavy game, and it runs it seamlessly.
