||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Got it on sale during this black friday sale, got an additional 2tb SSD, paid 40$ at best buy to get it installed as well, was super excited to game on it. After letting windows do it's things, first issue that I came across was Wi-fi card, disconnects randomly when playing dota and on normal occasion (streaming, browsing), sometimes caps at 20 or 40 mbps when I have a 350 mbps internet plan, read about the Mediatek wifi card and went to best buy to ask them their suggestions on replacing it to an Intel AX210. Returned home the same day convincing myself, it's just an additional 20$ card and the laptop's great, installed horizon dawn and was playing it with an external monitor via USB C to get the dedicated GPU to work, got random fps drops and crashes, looked that online, followed some fixes like updating the in-game settings, windows graphic setting, checking the graphic drivers are updated but problems ensued. Next day, new set of issues started arising, screen flickers randomly, laptop goes to sleep when using it and won't turn on unless I restart it, again, looked up few reddit threads and asus forums to find my exact issue posted an year ago. After 2 days of coping, went to best buy, returned it, wanted to get the legion even though its a 300$ increase but best buy didn't have it, so opted in for a replacement coping second time's the charm, will receive the replacement at the end of the week, will update once I get it.

While it does not handle ray tracing well, it can easily handle Cyberpunk 2077 on Ultra at 62fps. Battery Life is excellent.

Black screen, does not react to anything, only turning off helps. Updated all drivers and BIOS yesterday, did not help. Today, it hung again and after a reboot, the second monitor via HDMI stopped being detected, turning it off / on helped. I thought that for such money it should work perfectly, but it's terrible!

The laptop freezing up while streaming video may possibly be an internet issue. Since poor and unstable internet connection will definitely cause system stability or performance issue, please check if the laptop has access to an established wireless router, it is getting an excellent signal and internet service is working properly. Also, keeping Windows updated will maintain optimum system stability and performance, please verify if Windows is up to date. Regarding the second monitor not being detected, please check if the video cable is securely connected and is working properly. Update the video driver if outdated. If these steps were already performed to no avail, please try to run a diagnostics or optimization test using the "My ASUS" utility software or application. Please DON’T buy this…. Returned my 2nd unit….

When installing games it downloads extremely fast and flawless, but when it comes to playing the games it crashes, lags out, stalls, drop max framerates and worst of all it runs very, very poor graphics. I have installed all my updates, i ended up having to call Asus to help troubleshoot it, but unfortunately no one knew what was wrong with it or why the performance was so bad, so they told me to update BIOS, which i did and that still didnt solve anything. I paid a lot of money for games on steam with my old PC and this PC cant run them without driver updates, when i try to install new drivers the whole system will run even slower, i tried installing drivers from ASUS website, thise updates did nothing but take up space, this laptop is complete garbage, Its always something with Asus. I’ve purchased 2 units each of them had the same issues. This computer looks really beefy and nice with the LED lights but do not let it fool you.

Must Avoid

Mine is 2.6 years old and having to do a complete reinstall. Finding drivers through their site is a nightmare even with the correct S/N number. Website product list does not match this product in any way.

Once my files get to heavy, it really slows down and the apps almost always crash or need to force quit. It also doesn't always wake up completely when I open it. If I physically close the laptop while it's still on, then open it later, sometimes I have to power it back up even though it isn't out of battery.

The multi-color light-up keyboard, though a vanity feature, is really nice to have. I find it soothing. The not-so-great. It's a decent enough computer, I suppose, but for the price, I would expect it to perform better than it does. The computer seems to have difficulty performing basic tasks such as, I don't know, using file explorer or the internet (having nothing to do with connection speed). It often freezes or takes abnormally long to perform the simplest of tasks. It struggles to open the native text editor. It's ridiculous, especially since I haven't had it that long. If I could return I would. But I can't, so I won't. Also - and this is my fault for not selecting something I prefer - I find the limited keyboard options/functions disappointing. I'm used to something better suited for writing. Perhaps I got a lemon or maybe there's something I'm missing, but all-in-all I'm not pleased with it.

Poor experience

The battery had no charge either, so I had to borrow one to even experience the product. But even then, the laptop could not be used with the charger for long since it consumed power faster than the charger could provide it. Throughout this week I have been directed from the website chat to phone call support to my local Best Buy where they were unable to help me find the laptop's charger nor check my warranty, which is unlucky because Asus support instructs to check with Best Buy about that. Overall, this open box laptop has been a poor product experience since it remains difficult to get the laptop powered up.

Almost Perfect.

The only thing is the base model wifi card in it. When you put the laptop to sleep and wake it up, you're greeted by no internet connection. Initially I kept restarting the computer to remdedy the problem, but found out I just need to: 1. Go to control panel 2. Go to network and Internet 3. Go to sharing Center 4. Click on change adapter settings. 5. Then disable and re-enable the wifi card. The only thing is, everytime the computer fell asleep for a long period, I would have to do this. The initial experience with me having to look up what was wrong is enough for me to recommend another model if you dont want to go through this.
