Plays basically every game perfectly when it's not overheating which is the most of the time. Thermal paste and liquid metal don't help much at all. Enjoy 97c on the cpu. Amazing screen. Decent speakers. Good keyboard and build quality. Okay touch pad. Not great wifi connectivity. But is better then any other laptop at the price for gaming.

This laptop competes with the mid/high tier laptops and GPU s. It has fast Ryzen 9 Processor and a AMD RX6800m graphics card that falls between a NVIDIA RTX3070 and 3080 ti based on benchmark tests. Plays majority of AAA games on high settings and speakers sound pretty good. Does run warm when playing games with higher specs . Fan noise is bearable. Only issue I'm having at the moment is trying to figure out how to turn off the logo light on the lid of the laptop.

The ROG Strix 15 Advantage Edition laptop is designed for gamers and power users, featuring AMD's Ryzen processors and Radeon RX graphics. Here's a breakdown of its key aspects: **Performance:** With AMD's Ryzen processors and Radeon RX graphics, the ROG Strix 15 Advantage Edition offers strong performance for gaming, content creation, and multitasking. The combination of powerful components ensures smooth gameplay and responsiveness for demanding tasks. **Display:** The laptop typically features a high refresh rate display, often 144Hz or 240Hz, providing smooth gaming experiences with reduced motion blur. The display quality is generally good, offering vibrant colors and decent viewing angles. **Cooling:** ROG laptops are known for their efficient cooling systems. The Strix 15 Advantage Edition usually comes with multiple heat pipes and fans to keep temperatures in check during intense gaming sessions, reducing the risk of thermal throttling. **Build Quality:** ASUS ROG laptops are usually well-built, featuring sturdy construction and premium materials. The keyboard and trackpad are often comfortable to use, with customizable RGB lighting for a personalized touch. **Connectivity and Ports:** The ROG Strix 15 Advantage Edition typically comes with a range of ports, including USB Type-A, USB Type-C, HDMI, and audio jacks, offering flexibility for connecting peripherals and external displays. **Battery Life:** Like many gaming laptops, the battery life of the ROG Strix 15 Advantage Edition may not be its strong suit, especially under heavy usage scenarios. However, it should provide sufficient battery life for casual use and moderate gaming sessions. **Price:** The ROG Strix 15 Advantage Edition is positioned as a premium gaming laptop, and its price reflects that. While it offers excellent performance and features, it may be relatively more expensive compared to laptops with similar specifications from other brands. In summary, the ROG Strix 15 Advantage Edition is a powerful gaming laptop with strong performance, a high refresh rate display, efficient cooling, and a premium build quality. However, its relatively high price and potentially limited battery life may be considerations for some users. It's recommended for gamers and power users who prioritize performance and features.

Very capable gaming/productivity laptop for the price. Starfield is very playable at medium/high settings. VR capable if that's your thing. Ports are sensibly placed. Build quality is great, lid opens easily with one hand, the metal finish is an absolute fingerprint/grease magnet though, doesn't matter how clean you keep your hands. I run mine set to 'silent" mode and set so the battery won't charge past 60% since it's plugged in all the time. Also upgraded to 32GB faster RAM (KF432S20IBK2/32) and installed a second NVMe SSD (SP002TBP34A60M28) and very happy with the machine so far

I've been using the Asus ROG laptop for two years now, and it continues to impress me. This machine handles both my work and gaming needs seamlessly. Apart from upgrading the RAM, I haven't felt the need to make any other major changes. One thing to note is that the fans can get quite loud when running demanding games, but that's a small trade-off for the performance it delivers. The Type-C USB charging capability is a great feature, though it's worth mentioning that it didn't come with the necessary plug and cable. The standard 120V charger is larger than what I was used to with previous laptops, but it compensates by charging the battery quickly, often reaching a full charge in about an hour. Overall, the Asus ROG has been a reliable and powerful companion for both work and play, and I haven't been disappointed with my purchase.

I bought the FHD version more than a year ago, upgraded that one to 32gb dual rank ram, two 1tb Hynix P31 drives and Windows 10 Pro, the laptop works great with all my Steam library games and of course everything I do daily, it rips everything apart like a tank. Here I am again with my new QHD Strix AE in 2022, the main difference being of course the 1440p display with a slightly faster cpu and a tier+ 6800M graphics. Once the laptop arrived I decided to maxed out this one with 64gb dual rank ram, 1tb Samsung 970 pro main drive, 2tb Sandisk Extreme Pro drive and upgraded it to Windows 11 Pro, I also replaced the wifi card with Intel 6E AX210NGW (even though the Mediatek card worked without any issue). So far I've decided to use one laptop especially for gaming (FHD W10Pro) and the other one for productivity (QHD W11Pro) Thanks AMD, thanks Asus!

My previous laptop with a 1660 ti was beginning to show its age, especially with the VRAM usage in more modern titles - and so I looked for an upgrade. Not only is this machine sporting a much, much better battery life, but it's also performing around a 4070 but with 50% more VRAM. If you don't care about RT - and you really shouldn't in a laptop - this is simply the best value gaming laptop you can find. Just maybe add a second SSD and swap out the RAM down the line.

I want to give this thing 5 stars so bad. Its packed with a Ryzen 9 and formiddable AMD RADEON 6800m. It holds up to 64Gb of ram. Its fast. Heres my issue, I can't tell if windows 10 or 11 is better on this thing. ASUS customer service is absolutely worthless. They keep trying to get me to send it in for repairs and charge me, and then while on the phone with support, I find the answer on Reddit. Reddit now has better customer support than ASUS. The armor crate it comes with is not necessary, and is just bloatware. It runs better with out it. The blue tooth randomly disappeared one day. No evidence of its existence. I did however reaolve it by downloaded an update and restarting (which asus failed to help me with. The SECOND display is my main display and after a couple days it randomly stops displaying and I have to reset it on the laptop. Games however look crisp. I played Anthem on full Ultra settings with minimal (almost neglible) hiccups, but I wouldn't suggest making a habit of it The fans are LOUD. Once this thing gets going, you know its there. I would not eecommend over clocking the processor despite its ability, it heats up quick and will shorten the life span. I have had to factory reset the laptop 5 times, and not sure if its due to user error or just poor compatibility with Windows. The screwn feels super flimsy so when ever I open and close it, I am very delicate with it. I prefer to keep it hooked to a second display and have the screen shut to avoid damaging it. They keyboard feels solid. Easy to type on and has plenty of functions. If you like RGB it has great settings for that and is beautiful. I however turned it off as its just one more thing for it to process. When it works, its quick and feels powerful. I doynt regret getting it. For the price I paid on black Friday I think its an excellent gaming laptop. I so badly want to rate this 5 stars. But I just can't tell if the quirks are my fault or not and the customer suppodt is not good at all....AT ALL.

I bought the Asus ROG Stix G15 Advantage on sale for $1099. I have been using this laptop for over a month now. I upgraded the ram to 32gb and added a second drive - 1tb m.2. It was very easy to upgrade just have to be careful with the rgb ribbon when taking the cover off the back. The QHD screen is gorgeous and a real treat to game on. I played Monster Hunter World, Ark Survival Evolved, Horizon Zero Dawn, Apex Legends, and some Dead Island - in 1440p and all look and handle amazing on this beautiful screen. The build quality feels solid and sturdy and the speakers are good. The RGB keyboard is customizable with the Armoury Crate software. There are 2 usb ports and a head phone jack on the side. In the back is a 3rd usb port along with a hdmi port, a type c port, and an ethernet port. The battery life feels decent and it charges fast. A few cons: it is a chunky boy with some weight to it, does not come with a web cam, the cpu often gets hot with temps well in to the 90s however this cpu is supposed to operate at higher temps well. This laptop is an amazing value for the price. I am very happy with my puchase and love gaming on this thing.

First things first. I am blown away by the performance of this laptop, it can handle the most demanding tasks like they're nothing. Absolutely destroyed the initial benchmark runs I did, getting terrifyingly close to the world record for this hardware with just stock settings. But... unless you set the fan to silent mode, you will probably give yourself a headache. This thing gets LOUD. That being said, the thermal solution in this laptop is so utterly bonkers, that even with the silent fan settings it does not get too hot. Build quality. Pretty solid feeling, for the most part. There is a little flex on the keyboard, which is not something I'd really want to see on a laptop of this price, and the screen feels concerningly thin, but the metal construction there is more than enough to prevent anything catastrophic. Materials. Everything is a fingerprint magnet, so be warned. Upgradability. Took me about 10 minutes to upgrade the ram and add in a second SSD. Should it have taken this long? No. The shape and design of the bottom of this chassis is without contest, the most frustrating to remove. This incudes ones that have had glued chassis bottoms. Why there isn't an easy access cover for the ram and SSDs which are RIGHT NEXT TO EACH OTHER is utterly beyond me. But, this isn't something you'd need to worry about more than once or twice in the lifetime of the device unless you're someone (me) who likes to do rigorous deep cleans every few months. All in all. This is a beast of a machine. If you want a laptop that can give you a near uncompromised desktop gaming experience, you've found it. This is it. If you just want to have something that can play games on max settings, no tinkering around. Get this laptop. Flaws aside, this is now my favorite gaming laptop I've ever owned, and during the hotter months of the year it will be used over my desktop simply because it is just that good.

I travelled all summer from Oregon to Minnesota and every state in between, 3 months, and then back to oregon. This laptop is my main device and it does everything so well. I love it and it made me love laptops again. It handles every game so well and the battery life is excellent for browsing the web and hanging around in a coffee shop all day with wifi.. The ONLY thing I dont like is the screen is so fragile. I never damaged any screen I ever owned, but this screen seems to get damaged so easily. I have 2 little chip in the screen that reflect white in your eyes and I really have no clue how they got there. But the screen is otherwise awesome. It looks so good with modern games, the colors are crisp and the blacks are dark. I cant wait for another black friday deal so I can buy the latest and greatest all AMD laptop again. It doesnt need to be upgraded but I love it so I cant wait to upgrade it. If that makes sense. lol.....

    The Best Deal for $1099.99

This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

Pros: Price ($1099.99 at the time of purchase) 5980HX (top of AMD's mobile CPU for 5000 series) Performs similar to 3070Ti - 3080 mobile GPU (when the ram is upgraded) 1440p 165Hz 350 nit max brightness Under 5.5lbs Upgradable ram, storage, and wifi. 10+ Hour video playback 50% in 30 min fast charging Liquid metal on cpu/gpu, so you know you're getting the best cooling possible with no need to upgrade. Cons: Ships with memory that holds the PC back nearly 20% in some workloads (easy to open and change the memory) No mux switch (basically the dedicated GPU HAS to run through the integrated graphics which hinders performance slightly BUT you can use an external display and it bypasses it when you need every ounce of performance) Chasis has plastic BUT the keyboard surface feels really solid and the lid is metal. Supposedly people have said the wifi card isn't great but my experience has been pretty solid with the one shipped from it. Summary: Check out Jarrod'sTech youtube video on this laptop, it seriously has the performance to compete with laptops 2x as expensive and the battery life to outrun most of them as well. Get this thing as cheap as you can, while $1600 isn't a bad price for it, the $1099.99 price is a steal!

It has everything that you would expect from a laptop designed for gaming. A decent screen with a great response time, along with 16 gigs of ram and 512 gigs of storage. The laptop allows you to expand your ram and storage to align with your personal needs. It also works surprisingly well with monitors though you might need to configure some of the HDR options depending on what brand you go with. Not much to say, it's a nice starter gaming laptop.

All the newest tech has a law of diminishing return as far as value to have the latest and greatest. This is a year old laptop with a great value and it works excellent. Has dual channel RAM but I easily upgraded it to faster and bigger. The M.2 is horrible though, no system should be sold with 512GB. Both easy fixes so if you pick this up under $1200 it’s a great deal. I game on it and it works well. Battery life is shorter so needs to be plugged in for any length of gaming. The RX 6800M is powerful. Screen is ultra clear.

This PC is awesome, it runs my AAA games smoothly on Ultra Settings 1440p. I play MW2 on 1440p Ultra Settings and get 120 FPS on average but it’s only when I have it plugged on turbo. I love FPS shooters and TPP Shooters like Resident Evil 4 remake and village. I play on Ultra settings and it runs above 100 FPS, I have my games on Ultra settings on all my AAA titles and I’m very satisfied with the performance of this laptop. However the fans do get noisy but it doesn’t bother me, in my opinion that’s a small issue and overall you can’t beat the price for this laptop. It is definitely worth buying and it’s a steal considering how low the price is.

    Amazing Price-to-Performance, Lackluster Software

This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

I bought this laptop open-box for around $1200 and it is a steal at that price! The Ryzen 9 processor is blazing fast and the 6800M graphics card preforms somewhere around a 3080 mobile. The included RAM is acceptable for what it is, but I would highly recommend upgrading it to get significantly better performance. The 512GB SSD performs well, but the total amount of storage is lackluster for todays large games. Luckily, adding another NVME drive is fairly straight forward. The chassis is very well built with stellar a keyboard and lots of RGB lights. The screen is a perfect resolution for gaming and features a high refresh rate and good response time. Now here's the caveat to this review: the software out of the box is borderline terrible. I consider myself fairly tech-savy and even I spent a good amount of time downloading/fixing drivers and software. Much of the blame is on AMD rather than ASUS. If you buy this machine, ignore the official ASUS graphics and download the AMD Software: Adrenaline Edition. Once the software is updated and in working order, the computer is a great experience! Overall, this computer is amazing for the price, but it requires a fair amount of work to get in proper order.
