I just purchased this laptop & I love it. Speed is there & build quality is great. Screen is better in real life scenarios too, it did look dim and not as vivid as the other laptops on display in store. I wouldn't consider a "budget" laptop either, it just happens to have an amazing price for what you get. I love it, I am also a former dedicated MAC user too so. Enjoy & happy creating, you deserve this laptop.

I love this laptop so far. It hasn't had a ton of use yet but the amount of custom settings is so good plus easy access buttons for changing things like fan speed and such. It hasn't had any problem with any game I've thrown at it so far and runs smooth like butter. People say the fans are noisy but I don't think they are that bad even at full speed. Great for entry or even intermediate PC gamers.

I love this laptop. I just took it on a trip a couple weeks ago and the battery life blew my mind. With the right settings I was able to watch 3 movies no problem, I was impressed. I also love how the myasus app gives me the ability to limit charging for when my laptop is plugged in at home. The only cons I would give it is the coil whine when the keyboard lights are off, its very bizarre. I didn't notice it at first because of the fact you can't really hear it when the keyboard lights are on. I would have given it 5 stars if it wasn't for that. Also, the keyboard is very very thin chiclet style, I am getting used to it but it may not be for everyone.

I bought this on sale for $300 off and consider that a great value. I would not recommend buying it at full price. My only complaints after a few weeks of use -- I don't like that there isn't an easily-accessible control for the keyboard backlight, and the fans do run pretty loud when on performance or turbo mode. Otherwise, I am very satisfied with the value and performance of this laptop.

I got this on sale for $949.99, and for that price, it's excellent! Fast gaming laptop with a very long battery life! If browsing the internet unplugged, the battery lasts about 7 hours.
Games run smoothly, and it also has an extra SSD slot for more storage if you need it!

This laptop is a decent entry to mid-level gaming machine. The AMD Ryzen 7-3750H processor coupled with the nVidia GTX 1660Ti with Max-Q graphics card provided enough horsepower to play most games at high level graphics and still get decent frame rates.
I played my current fav game, The Division 2, at high level graphics and got between 50 to 90FPS. It would choke down to 50 with fog or rain and lots of background but played at a respectable 90FPS when in close quarters. All in all it is a solid performer and
I do have an ongoing issue running the game though. Easy Anti-Cheat does not liking ASUS LightService. I have to go into task manager and kill the RGB sync software anytime I want to play a game with Easy Anti-Cheat including FarCry5 and Assassin’s Creed Origins.
ASUS Armoury Crate is a slick graphical user interface to adjust the laptops performance settings however I’m perplexed on why Aura sync is included when the keyboard back-lighting is only white. Unnecessary in my humble opinion as they trimmed a few features from this laptop but left a few of the controlling apps installed.
Cinebench is a performance I got a 1738 Cinebench score in Turbo mode. My previous ASUS ROG GU501GM laptop has an i7-8750H with a GTX-1060 with 16GB of memory and scores a Cinebench of 2177. The i7-8750H has a 2.2Ghz base with 4.10Ghz turbo speed and the Ryzen 7-3750H has a base speed of 2.3Ghz with a turbo of 4.0Ghz so the scores should be much closer but still respectably close.
What I like:
• Thin form factor
• Lightweight
• Great display 1920 x 1080 with fast refresh @ 120Hz
• 16GB memory
• 512GB SSD
• Dedicated keys for ASUS Armoury Crate, up and down volume and mic mute
What I don’t like:
• Awkward placement of Home, Page Up, Page Down, End and FN keys
• Loud fan during game play but if you are wearing headset it’s not an issue. This is a common issue with these thin profile gaming laptops.
• No camera… optional external webcam offered
• Not needed bloatware… No RGB but software included to sync RGB (which conflicts with the Easy Anti-Cheat that some games run)
• Only 512GB SSD. Needs to be 1TB at least or needs a 1TB HDD for games. I’ve only installed 6 games and I’m almost out of hard drive space.

I've been in the market for a new laptop for a while and I was pleasantly satisfied with this one. It's been a month since I received it and it runs so much smoother than my old Asus. I can play a couple MMORPGs that I've been meaning to get back to. As a digital artist as well, I'm happy with how well it can handle art programs.
If there was anything I didn't need, it was Cortana, which comes prepackaged with Windows 10, but you can mute it and forget that exists.
I can't speak for it as a more gaming intensive laptop, but I spent the extra on a gaming laptop for smoother performance and that's what I got.

Great value for gaming laptop that is thin and relatively light. Screen looks great. I like the keyboard with out the 10 key. Has a lan port. I wish it had Display port out for g-sync. However it is louder than any other laptop I have had. It has some settings to balance this for non-gaming environments, it works too. I don’t notice it getting too hot even after hours of gameplay, no heat issues so far, so the fans work. I do keep it on a riser an inch or so with an external fan blowing across the bottom, just as a precaution.

This gaming laptop is awesome for beginner players or just for modern laptop in general. The only two thing that I would say is to be aware the battery because it does overheat quickly and when that happen, the fan noise gets louder but many of friends say that are known to overheat at certain point of time. Never the less, this gaming laptop is really good especially for it price and performance.

Screen is fantastic, ASUS dahsboard is very customizable and easy to change fan/cpu settings. Didn't run too hot but I may consider getting some external fans if I'm playing for a long time. Speakers are only so-so. Fan is about as loud as a kitchen fan or very low setting on a hair drier at 100%. Sturdy, compact, and way more lightweight than I thought.

Bought it for my kid as a gaming laptop, however, it's not being used as such. My kid is going to college this year so I was looking for unit that would last for a long time. This unit is beautiful, kinda edgy looking. It's fast and powerful. Love the keyboard. Important to know, since it's a gaming laptop, it doesn't have a built in camera which is fine for us.

I haven’t had this laptop very long, but it hasn’t disappointed me at all. It runs every game I play with ease, and most of the time with graphics set higher than usual. My only complaint is that the fan can get pretty loud, but I also expected that since I haven’t had a problem with it overheating at all.

This laptops performance itself was not bad, but noticeable backlight bleed from the monitor was very apparent in nearly all corners. It would also get pretty hot to the point you definitely could not keep it in your lap and sounds like a jet plane with the fans kicking on.
In my opinion the cons outweighed the positives, but if you can get it for a cheap price the performance is still pretty good.

I've been using this laptop for over a month and it's amazing. I'm not a gamer, but I do a bit of 3D engineering and product development. The price quality of this laptop is amazing, I don't think there is a better deal out there.
The keyboard works great, it has nice travel and the size and feeling of the keys is excellent. I can't say much about the trackpad other then it does what it should do, 95% of the time I use a mouse with the laptop so I haven't really tested it yet.
The screen is bright, the refresh rates make it very fluent and easy on the eyes and there is minimal glare.
For me this is the perfect all around performer, more then good enough for the tasks I do on it.
Battery life is reasonable, I get 4 hours on average in normal non stop usage.
I would recommend this laptop to all professionals that are looking for great performance and don't care about ultra-book thinness and styling. Don't get me wrong, it isn't a big heavy laptop in any way and it will easily out perform most if not all ultra-books. But it will be less portable and slick, so your decision should be based on your laptop usage. But you do get a lot more connections and bang for your buck with this ROG!

This laptop has enough performance for most mid-tier games. The keyboard under the right hand will get pretty warm but it has not crashed yet. It is nice that it has another slot for another m.2 drive even though it will only have the number of lanes/thruput as the main drive.

Battery life is disappointing. I was expecting hours of usage without having to recharge. The 8 hours of life is on standby. Depending on which performance settings you leave it on. Anywhere between 2-3 hours. I managed to kill my battery within the first hour and half. Obviously don't charge it while using it. Poor thing will kill itself. Far as I can tell the performance is good. Can run games like fallout 76. A miracle if you ask me. Good amount of games available on steam the laptop is capable of running.
