Not a 64bit OS and no support on this model from A
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It seems to function alright for its size, but there are a few things that are irritating me. First off, Best Buys website states that it has a 64bit operating system, but it comes with the 32bit installed. Also, the model number T100TAC1RDS does not come up on ASUS’s site. There is no T100TAC model listed, so you can’t find any online documentation, or download drivers or updates from ASUS directly. Other than that, it seems to work fine. Not a fan of windows 8.1, but I have window 10 reserved so time will tell if that brings any improvements.

Good, but flimsy
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a pretty good replacement for the netbooks of old. Load times are speedy due to the onboard SSD, and the screen, while nothing fantastic, is much, much better than what you would see on a Chromebook of an equivalent size. The docking hinge for the tablet half works reasonably well (Asus has a lot of experience with this via its Android Transformer line). The major drawback here is the build quality. The chicklet keys on the keyboard dock are a little flimsy (and small), and the body of both the tablet and dock have a terrifyingly fragile feel to them. I don't imagine this would survive a moderate drop on to a solid surface, so make sure you handle with care. You do, however, get access to full Windows with this device (NOT the now-defunct Windows RT), so you can run the full suite of Office apps and use this gadget for some real work. You're limited to 2 GB RAM, however, so you shouldn't look to this device if you want professional photo or video editing. All in all, a pretty solid product for a good price. I didn't have any issues with a malfunctioning device, unlike the previous reviewer. Most Asus stuff is pretty solid, and I didn't find this device to be any exception.
