This laptop was a Christmas gift for my mom. She desperately needed an upgrade from her 2004 laptop. She only uses it to check websites, shop, and email. She has minor health issues so getting something that was light was important. She also loves the green color I got her. Even though she doesn’t work on it I added Office for her. The boot up speed is great, and after setting up her VPN, and anti-virus I am 100% confident that she can shop and check sites safely. The initial setup process is very intuitive, and I’m sure my mother could’ve done the setup without me. The only reason I didn’t give it 5 stars is because she’s only had it since Christmas. That being said this is a great laptop for email, and internet. I’m sure it’s capable of a lot more.

Out of the box and plugged in stalls and stutters. Wanting to run Chrome one has to go to Microsoft store and get out of S mode. Minor pain. Took a day trying to adjust hardware and updates to run somewhere near smoothly. Battery life biggest disappointment. From 100% to dead, 1 hour 35 minutes! Basically surfing no major workload! WiFi adapter speed unremarkable compared to other devices in this house. Will run smoothly then stutter stall. AVOID!

First one if the two had keys that were unresponsive. Bb did not have a replacement so had to order different color online. Solid i5; fast boot, responsive ui, feels solid and looks great. Backlit keyboard, webcam, and mic are a must, so nice to have those. Caveat:. Wifi antenna is unstable. But, my hr WiFi is unstable at times. So not sure which is more culprit. I do know resetting wifi on laptop sometimes fixes intermittent issues.

Pros: It's very sleek and lightweight. I also like having a color that's not black or space gray. My previous laptop was a MacBook Pro and I could not justify buying a new one when I could get a good Windows machine for less. It's easy to set up, too. Cons: Bloatware. Lots of it. I don't need Xbox Console Companion, Xbox Game Bar, Mixed Reality Portal, McAfee, etc. The power cord is long but I still need a power strip to reach an outlet. I tried looking for a longer adapter but ASUS doesn't sell them for the VivoBook. All in all, a good choice if you're looking for a new laptop.

Very nice laptop. The lighted keys are nice on the keyboard since i can't see keys without light. Screen size is nice. Computer sync nice with my Samsung note 20. I don't like that when you choose laptop internet gets out and has to reconnect.

I've only had this laptop for a couple of weeks and the biggest disappointment is the battery. Fully charged, it's supposed to last for 8 hours. I have yet to experience that, even from when I first charged it right out of the box. And tonight I got on a web meeting for 1 hour and 45 minutes. At the start of the meeting, battery had about 6 hours left on it. After the meeting, the battery was down to around 3 hours! ASUS needs to make MAJOR improvements to battery life. So far, this is my only complaint about the laptop. I will probably return it.

Initially, the computer charged to 100%. It soon needed to be recharged but it would only charge to 59%. No matter how long I left it plugged in, 59% was as far as it would go. It even lost power if I used it while it was plugged in. Then it started disconnecting itself from the internet about every 15 minutes. Another computer was on at the same time and it never disconnected, so it was the Asus, not the modem. I took it to Geek Squad and they couldn't find anything wrong with it. I brought it home, turned it on, and the battery was at 59%. I returned it after owning it for about two and a half weeks. One other thing that was annoying: the keyboard was silver and backlit with a white light. The light blended into the silver keys and I couldn't see the letters/numbers. A black keyboard would have made more sense.

This is a real fast and great laptop to purchase. I am really enjoying this laptop. The color of the laptop is beautiful.

Great laptop for our needs. I am a pretty loyal Asus customer. No complaints about this laptop, however, in full disclosure it is not our main laptop so we have not used it as much. What I really like about Asus is their dedication to customer service. They are among the few manufacturers who seem to watch & respond to reviews of their product on Best Buy's website. Asus listens to their customers and when possible, tries to make it right when there is a complaint. Kudo Asus!

I recently purchased the ASUS VivoBook S15, and my experience has been nothing short of a nightmare. I regret to say that this review will only receive a single star, as I am utterly dissatisfied with the performance and the customer support provided by ASUS. Within less than two years of ownership, my laptop has been plagued with persistent and unexplained shutdowns. This issue not only disrupts my workflow but also raises concerns about the overall reliability of ASUS products. I purchased this laptop in January 2021, expecting a quality computing experience, but the reality has been far from satisfactory. To exacerbate matters, the ASUS customer support has been woefully inadequate. Despite numerous attempts to seek assistance, the representatives seemed uninformed and unhelpful. It's worth noting that when I attempted to write a formal complaint to ASUS's customer support, I discovered that they don't have a department that handles these types of issues. This lack of a dedicated channel for serious concerns reflects a disregard for customer satisfaction. I even reached out to the Geek Squad at Best Buy, who suggested that the problem may require a new motherboard. For a laptop that was just over two years old, such a diagnosis is both unacceptable and deeply disappointing. This is my third ASUS computer, and the other two are still functioning without any issues. The fact that my latest purchase has encountered such severe problems is not only frustrating but also undermines my confidence in ASUS as a reliable brand. I was genuinely considering purchasing another ASUS laptop, but given the lack of resolution and the persistent issues, I am now actively exploring alternatives from different brands. It is disheartening to witness a once-loyal customer like myself driven away by subpar products and support. In conclusion, I would caution potential buyers to thoroughly reconsider their decision before investing in an ASUS product. My experience has been a costly mistake, and I hope this review serves as a warning to others who value reliability and customer support in their computing devices.

Good basic laptop. Performs well. Camera is only fair for anything but bright light. Keyboard can be very difficult to read even when lighted. Seems like that’s something that they should have caught and corrected when designing the product.

Runs much faster than expected, great screen, perfect for work from home and streaming TV.

Wonderful laptop for remote learning . Fast speed and great speakers . Very sharp screen. Love backlight keyboard.

My computer is very good utility. It is very essential for my online classes

Easy to use. Wish there was a user manual to refer to as lot of features have to be figured out through usage.

No complaints, would like the backlight on the keyboard to be brighter, but aside from that it's perfect for streaming and schoolwork.

Bought this for my 13 year old. This has been perfect for him for school!

I really like this laptop. I will say as keyboards go I have used computers where the keyboard feels more solid. Is that isn't a concern it is a great laptop.

The device broke down after less than a year and a half of use. Motherboard issue

I absolutely love this computer. The color is super gorgeous, and my phone connects to my computer so I can still answer texts and other messages without needing my phone to do so.
