I'm generally a fan of the Asus router lineup. I love the simple setup...especially the ability to run the router as an "access point only", which is mostly what I do with these units. I give it 4 stars instead of 5 only because the firmware update process seems to be a little quirky if you run it from the gui. The last two units I have purchased have done the same thing. A screen pops up saying the upgrade should take 3 minutes, but it instead takes at least 30 minutes. If you walk away from it for long enough the process eventually completes, but I don't like the misleading message. Other than that, though, these devices work well.

Asus routers have been rock solid for me, no reboots and no glitches. This one is no different, with an easy setup wizard that had me connected in minutes. The range for this router is excellent, on both 2.4 and 5 Ghz bands. Speed is awesome, especially for my wireless-N capable devices.

This first thing you need to know that this is the second one of these I have purchased. I installed this one in my brother and sister in-laws house. They had a terrible DSL combo modem and router. It was just terrible. I installed a new modem and this router in about an hour. The install for this router goes quick. I did have some issues using the set up disc. I put the address in the browser and was able to log in and set it up without the disc. My in-laws are blow away with how nice this is. They have about a 1500 square foot two story with basement. They get a solid signal everywhere in the house. They made the comment that everything is substantially faster. That’s because I got most of the cell phones set up on the 5 GHz band. I will say that this router is bit overkill for a home setting. But, I wanted to future proof them. They didn’t want to have to keep buying a new one every few years. Love this! Pay a little extra and move on with your life.

So I ended up selling off a Netgear R7000 for some flaky behavior. Some of it might of been the ISP. Bought this a while later, changed ISPs and it has been rock solid since getting it. The R7000 had a bit better range, not vastly different, when I locate it centrally, still covers the 2800 sq ft house. Has Dual WAN capability with failover. The firmware has a few features that it lacks, but RMerlin makes custom firmware to fill in the holes.

Easy to set up. Fast and can better handle the 10 devices we have in the house than our old Netgear.

I'm very happy with this router. It has great range and is outperforming the Cisco router I replaced.

This unit set up easily and properly. Since then it has been a non-issue; i forget about it altogether. Best-Buy matched Amazon's price without a quibble. I did make a call to their customer service people about something I was doing wrong. Tthey were very helpful and got me past my stupidity in no time. I would buy another if I needeit.

Bought this as a replacement and a friend recommended this one. I have to say set up was super easy on my mac and connects quickly and easily to all the family's devices. Which is 3 gaming systems, 4 phones, 3 tablets, 3 smart tvs and 3 laptops and 2 macs. Not all running at the same time but with a family of four either online gaming or streaming movies at night, no problems, no lag. I was hoping for a little more range but really can't complain and plenty of reach for a 2200q foot house.

Of the routers I have owned, this is by far the best one. I have not dropped 1 time with this product. The speed boost over previous routes with multiple devices is Awesome. I run a speed test over wireless while other people are running games, Netflix, etc and it Max's out at the Cable modem top end of 60Mps. Older a/b/g would get 3-10 at most. The only thing I wish was a little stronger is the signal strength. It is a little better than the standard, but thought it would be even better.

Wifi signal is strong and internet speeds are great. This thing does what it's supposed to do.
