After I updated my watch to 5.0.1 my watch stopped charging. My issues started from that point and I caution anyone before you purchase this. I first contacted Asus and they told me the watch is covered under warranty however the charging cradle is not which is ridiculous since the watch needs the charger to work. My next step in this fiasco was to contact Asus store and purchase the charger. However the charger is not sold separately at all by ebay, Craigslist, or worse Asus. The issue was resolved by Best Buy, however after first being told that the 2year Accident Warranty was a manufacturer warranty. (Which is incorrect). I was finally able to get a full refund. I would recommend this company to a friend but not this product.

I fell in love with this the moment I so it online. Moreover, in person. It is so stylish and looks like an expensive, sleek and fashionable time piece. A possible heirloom. UNFORTUNATELY, it is all looks and its functions is lackluster at best. You cannot rely on its heart rate reading, horrible relaxing measurement which I do not know what its basis is. Pedometer doesn't sync with the phone. Very hard to maneuver. If all you need is a stylish smartwatch, then this is the watch for you. I ended up exchanging it for another one hoping that it might be better in its functions and my unit was just defective. But, it was to no avail... Right now, I have Samsung Gear S that functions with my Note Edge perfectly, i.e. based on my needs. Note: the Samsung Gear S functions only with selected Samsung smartphones.

You can easily tell if android wear is useful as nearly all it does it google now. I do think google now is excellent and much better than siri but if you use your phone for many things (responding to email, checking reference sites, typing of any kind etc ) you will still be getting our your phone frequently. If you find your main interface with your smart phone is google now you will find android wear useful. I did not and returned. Other thoughts: Also unless you enjoy wearing a large watch all of these smart watches are quite large and can be annoying. Does not have wireless charging. Can change band with standard tool. Screen is nice quality and hand over dimming is nice.

For a first generation android watch, this is the best deal one can get. It does almost everything under the sun except for heart monitor track. If you plan to buy this watch to do that, DON'T DO IT!!! The heart rate monitor is super inaccurate, hard to use, and hard to get readings. You will have to place two fingers on the the side of the watch to get a reading, but it never read. Out of 10 attempts, you will get a reading for 2 of them. That's how hard it is to get a reading on heart rate. But this watch works on everything else (ie: text msg, email, phone calls, control music, etc etc). Only drawback is the batter last about 18 hours on light use, and 8 hours on heavy uses.

I returned this watch, as it just wasn't for me. I found it to be an attractive watch, more so than the current competitors. But, not enough function. It basically functioned as a watch for me and not great at that. Always having to wake it up. When you used voice commands, it activated the phone and if you are with the phone, I just would rather use it. There is no speaker, so the stand alone alarm is just vibration. Then the nightly charge. It is attractive and the screen was very nice and bright. Great that you can use standard bands and change the look. Will wait and see what else is around the corner. No.....It won't be an Apple watch.

Hi everyone... Just got my new Asus Zen watch this afternoon and it's working great... Except I can't seem to reply to text messages on it. I get a text alert and then touch the little card notification. Then I see the text. I swipe to the left and the CALL option shows up, then I swipe left one more time to get to the REPLY option. I touch it and it immediately shows a green check mark. It's not giving me any time to actually speak a response but just going straight to a green confirmation check, although no reply is being sent. Am I doing something wrong?

The watch function is great. The problem is that it doesn't seem to work with any of the apps that are on my phone (HTC ONE M8) for tracking my walks / bike rides etc. It actually interferes with the apps when I try to just launch them on the phone and makes them uselessly inaccurate. When I called ASUS to see if they were planning to integrate better with any of about a dozen apps that I use, they said they had no future plans to integrate with any of them. That makes it just a really nice watch with lots of options for the face, but not worth the money.

Looks good. battery last about 24 hours in full charge. it displays Google now cards. provides some convenience. it warns you if you are away from your phone. (you will not easily lose or forget to carry your phone.) the heart rate reading is incorrect for 90% of the times. my hear rate is around 60 /m, I tried more than 10 times, the reading high is 180/m low 55/m is the closest reading.

WAIT -Nice Watch but Android Wear needs to mature

Solid feeling watch.. It's boxy but sleek enough.. Not "thin" but thin enough.. I have nothing bad to say about the Asus Zenwatch itself besides the battery life but that's par for the course for smartwatches so I won't hold that against it. I'd give it an A+ for a 1st generation device.. I will end up returning the watch because I didn't feel I would ever get used to Andorid Wear and the dedication it will take to charging the thing every day will lead to non-use for me..

Like the watch, but not the lack of direction when purchased. We were told if we purchased the watch we could get help with set up at the desk in store. When we finalized the purchase and walked over to the desk we were told they only helped with one brand of watch, not the one we purchased. The whole reason I went to best buy was for the expert help.

I bought this because I was looking for a heart rate monitor and it offered a lot more functionality for not much more money. Unfortunately, the heart rate monitor app requires you to hold your fingers on the bezel for many seconds and gives you very unreliable measurements. Why would it not just read it from the wrist that it is attached to?!?

Even after all the updates out of the box, the watch has trouble connecting back to phone after switching on Android Wear App. Rebooting both devices as recommended the watch fails to find the phone and app. Forcing a factory reset on the watch to get it connected again. Total pain.

Glass is gorilla but can still scratch pretty easily. Step count not easy to get to. Sort of middle of the road on all features, but is the best wearable out there so far. Swapped out with fitbit surge.

I should have waited to buy the next generation. You cannot interact on the watch like I thought you could. I don't like the fact that you have to be within 50 feet of your phone. I want a watch I can do everything without the phone

Gadget is good, although I expected more. I had trouble using other android apps to change the watch face but facing issues. Moreover, documentation that came with this watch is very minimal.
