Good entry level phone - Samsung support nightmare

    - The good: I have bought several of these phones when on sale for kids in the family that happen to be tech savvy and do basic gaming on their phones, with 16gb of storage these phones are good, (most prepaid phones come with only 8gb which is never enough). Phone runs really good never seen them lag, good processor, just enough ram to multitask, nice screen and display, decent camera for kids, exactly what I expected from this brand in this price range, - The bad: One of the phones started to die a few weeks after purchase. really bad experience with samsung support team, they voided the warranty because they claimed miss use, and said the phone was beyond repair. being the tech savvy I am I didn't dispose it, turns out in reality the phone only needed a new battery, I replaced it and the phone is working as new, but WILL AVOID THIS BRAND IN THE FUTURE because of the bad support, (I contacted them several times and every time they were horrible and even after telling them I had fixed it they refused to take a second look at the phone and restore the warranty) ridiculous. - Over all I do recommend this phone because of the price, at this price I don't care if Samsung does not honor the warranty but won't be buying anything expensive from this brand anymore,

Had a phone used primarily for work shatter it's screen, the cost of repairing it made replacing it seem like a better idea so we started looking for a good cheap AT&T replacement and found this phone. Decided on this model because of the good reviews, but mostly because the amount of memory built in. I've had trouble with android phones updating then moving the apps from the external memory to internal, a big very problem when there is limited memory . This phone is easy to use, good clarity display, great sound quality when making a call and good reception. Battery holds it charge well. No complaints. Feel like we got a good deal on this phone. I think only people downgrading from a higher model Samsungs would be disappointed cause this phone does everything we need it to and then some.

High quality smart phone excellent for dumb phone user like me. 4G speed is fast for a phone. Have had this phone for a month now and keep finding more and more good features daily. Excellent video and sound quality for watching videos or listening to music. Samsung has a winner with this good mid range product. Have downloaded a fair amount of apps and still have space left. Runs the apps well haven't had any freeze ups. Camera takes decent pictures even when the photographer doesn't. My recommendation would be to buy this phone. The mid range price is well worth it.

I replaced a larger phone because it was too cumbersome. The Express Prime is much more convenient has 16 GB main memory and a good price. It is big enough for my old eyes. It is a prepay phone, but I put my AT&T SIM in and don't prepay.. I have a calendar app, a pedometer, a scientific calculator app a music app and a few others and they run just fine. I haven't noticed the phone to be slow to respond. I've had no reliability problems and if I shut my pedometer off after each walk, the battery has lasted 5 days. Have a silicon and plastic case since it is like handling a wet fish without it. I do notice that some of the set up selections I had on the larger phone which is a ZTE zmax2 android are not as flexible.

This was the phone I chose to give my 13 year old as her first phone. We have had the phone for 3 months now. It has been great so far. Pro's: Perfect Size / Great price / Nice speed / Lightweight Con's: Camera could be better I didn't buy it for the camera, but it is the only reason I didn't give the phone 5 stars. I think a good camera is standard these days. They could have included one. However, it wasn't the top feature I was looking for in this phone. I need a great phone for a reasonable price to see how responsible my daughter was going to be. If she lost it or was reckless with it, then it didn't cost me a month's rent as a result. We have been very happy with this peppy little phone.

Don't expect flagship-level performance and you'll be very happy with this phone. The screen is good resolution and the camera is adequate for taking photos in good lighting. Apps launch and run normally with no noticeable lag, and call quality was on par with more expensive models. Perfect for younger users or as a backup phone, or for older users who don't need the latest and greatest. Battery life is also good if not stellar, but the fact that the battery is removable compensates for this in my book. My only complaint is the flimsy plasticky feel of the phone itself, but I won't knock if for that as this is common with phones in this price range.

This a good basic phone for basic needs and some light mobile gaming. A few days after use I activated the QR scanner there were ads all over my home screen, so I had to reset to factory settings. Several days after that landscape mode disappeared and the phone can no longer lock in landcape mode. It only locks in portrate, but it's still able to auto rotate. Other than that I have no issues with the phone. Call quality is good enough, but if you are hard of hearing calls may seem a bit quiet even with the volume on max. 16gb is a nice amount of space for a basic phone. The picture quality is absolutely horrible unless in direct sunlight or if flash is on at night or in a dark room. The audio is pretty good with and without earbuds - very loud and clear. Battery life is great, but I can tell the older the phone gets, the faster the battery will drain. The USB port is very sturdy, not flimsy whatsoever. The touch response is pretty good and accurate, but I've experienced better. Also, the screen resolution is not the best, but it is completely acceptable. Overall it is a nice phone and it is well built, which is what I expect from Samsung. Despite the cons with the minor software issues, I do love my little basic phone. It works perfectly fine for my basic needs: calls, some mobile gaming, and streaming music and videos. This is a good deal and I don't think anyone in the market for it should pass this baby up.

The screen size is perfect and clarity is good with vibrant colors. The phone is fast and has plenty of memory. You can add up to a 128gb sd card. The phone was a little slow and froze once when my pics were saved on the phone but when I transfered them onto the sd card it runs flawlessly. The only thing it needs is an indicator light for calls and texts and it would be perfect.

I purchase this device for my 10 year-old son, wheel of the expandable memory as well as the ease of use with the clean Samsung TouchWiz interface. The battery life is sufficient and my son makes it through the day with normal usage. I would recommend this phone for someone looking for a solid device at a budget price as long as you're not a power user and expecting this to perform like a $900 Galaxy S8 Plus.

I bought this phone for my daughter. What surprised me is that the operative system is more updated than the on the phone that I use. Although is a budget phone and it does not has some advanced features, it can stand easily by the side of more expensive phones. Connects greatly to the internet, is fast and runs the apps really smooth. Battery life is great. I highly recommend this phone to people that will like a good smartphone, but do not have the budget to afford an expensive one.

This phone has plenty of memory. It does not lock up. The camera quality is better than most others I have used. It does not accidentally call other people when in standby mode. I have dropped it a few times but nothing has broke. I also use a cheap phone cover and it works well. The apps are easy to install and most that I use are very helpful. Great phone.

I chose to purchase a GoPhone to avoid paying the outrageous cost of cellphones nowadays. When I purchased this phone I was hoping for performance somewhere close to my old Galaxy S4 I was replacing. I wasn't disappointed. This little GoPhone closely matched the performance of my S4 and its smaller frame size was a plus. The screen size was the same as my old phone as well. The drawbacks of course are things like screen resolution and camera megapixels that are not usually that great on more inexpensive phones. But honestly I wasn't expecting higher end features so these things pose no issue for me. My only disappointment would be in the operating system chosen for this phone. I'm not sure if it's directly related to the use of Android 6.0 but many features are limited that are essential (for me anyway) for everyday use. One feature missing for example is the ability to speak my text messages instead of typing them in. I had gotten quite used to using this feature which was not only easier but also safer in some instances. There are many key features of operating systems on more expensive phones that are missing from 6.0. If you have grown accustomed to using these features you will surely miss them here. It will be necessary to perform extra steps to accomplish the same functions, and as I mentioned earlier, some functions are not available at all. It's the only reason I gave this phone 4 stars instead of 5. But it is a GoPhone and that should be remembered. Regardless of this I would buy it again if I had too.

I recently sold my Note 4 to carry this smaller phone. It's not as awkward for my hands, but plenty big to read my email. I use an SD card in it, because of the 16GB capacity, but still haven't needed to use the SD card. Camera is good, build quality is good and I like everything about it. And it's Marshmallow!

I put my dinosaur-generation iPhone to rest because it was starting to have problems. Since I didn't want to offer up my first-born child as a down payment on a new iPhone, I decided to buy the $80 Samsung Galaxy Express Prime. I was ready to be thoroughly disappointed, but it actually is not bad. Because I have friends who have far greater technology skills than my paltry few, I discovered I can drag the letters to text, and I accidentally discovered I can still dictate a voice message and it will be created and sent by whomever does that in the Samsung world. (Apparently, there is only a nameless entity in the Go Phone that does the talking, as opposed to having some catchy identity like Siri or Alexa. And I don't believe mine makes small talk. That's okay, I still appreciate her.) The GPS works fine (a HUGE issue for me, given my navigational dyslexia---and I am not kidding, I have gotten turned around and had to ask for the location of the front door in the living room of a vacation rental), although I haven't figured out how to easily exit the app. (Although, to be fair, Siri would continue to walk me through directions from my pocket or purse long after I no longer needed her.) The phone is (thus far) pretty darn sturdy. I don't have a case for it yet, and It has fallen out of my pocket three times without incurring any damage, so far as I can tell. The volume of the device sounds (ring tones, etc.), as well as volumn of caller's voice is good, and I have fairly old ears. There are definitely some features lacking, such as a good camera (this one is adequate, but not much more than that). And I only do basic things that require internet access on the phone, such as finding the location of something, or checking when a business is closing---pretty minor stuff in today's world of connectivity---so there are probably other slick tricks I don't even know I'm missing out on. But I can buy a new one of these every year and still come out WAY ahead of the iPhone purchasing track. So, if you're looking for a basic phone with some of the bells and maybe a whistle or two, and you don't want to spend a lot of money, this phone is a good option.

Having been an owner of flagship devices for the last 8+ years, I made a bad choice getting a One M8 for Windows (not getting upgraded anymore). This was my "interim" purchase to get me through my contract so I can get another phone next year. I have to admit that I have been pleasantly surprised with the Galaxy Express Prime since I got it a few days ago. It's done everything I've asked of it with very little or no lag whatsoever. A rare thing for a sub $200 phone. A few of the highlights. The screen is beautiful. Clearly Samsung put the cost of this phone into the right places. RAM is adequate for normal to moderate users as I imagine that heavy users will feel the lower end specs at some point. 16GB of onboard storage is good as usually all you get is 8GB. I also put in my 128GB microSD with no issues and moved the apps I could to it. Freeing up built in space oddly improved the phone performance overall. Battery life with Android 6 (Marshmallow) is amazing. I got two full days of moderate weekend use on a brand new "non-conditioned" battery right out of the package. Overall I would say if you're looking to replace a high end broken phone or just want something without a contract that isn't a plastic piece of junk, this is a really good phone to look at. I moved my post-paid AT&T SIM into this and it just fired up with no setup required. I'm very happy with the purchase and have no doubt that I'll get more than my money's worth out of this phone.
