I have been a big fan of the Atelier series for about five years now. While I don’t always like the changes to the crafting system, the characters and stories go a long way towards my enjoyment of each game.
Every few installments in the series has a town rebuilding base story to it. In this game, you’re not only restoring your hometown but exploring the mystery of what happened twelve years prior that caused the devastation.
Overall a great game and very enjoyable. Several characters from previous Atelier games make an appearance in this one with three of them as playable characters. As far as I can tell this only has a loose connection to the mobile game Atelier Resleriana.
This is a great stand alone game.

So far game is a traditional atelier game, rough around the edges as usual, but I like it better than Yumia by miles. One thing is that there's a TON of cut scenes, some one after the other, gets tiring. Alchemy is back and though I prefer Ryza's alchemy system, I'm just happy to synthesize again, no auto synthesizing with mass useless ingredients here.

I'm glad the turn based combat is back, but they couldn't help themselves and had to censor character outfits. The lackluster swimsuit dlc also makes it clear that they want nothing to do with fan service. I miss the days of turn based combat, solid crafting, a slice of life story, and a bit of fan service. You're lucky to get 1 of the 4 now with the Atelier games.

I love the atelier series. I highly recommend this one if you have played some of the others.
