You like JRPG’s, crafting world building, and more character development from the first game, this definitely pick it up.

This is my first Atelier. I didn't play the first one, so I had to watch a gameplay/walkthrough of it so that I understood the lore. I've had tons of fun fighting monsters, exploring, and doing alchemy. Based on this experience, I hope to play the other Atelier games!!

This game is a fun and whimsical Japanese RPG game with alchemy at its core. The battle are more action oriented, and concentrate on timed hits and using items you’ve made from your alchemy. The characters are great, and the story is pretty interesting although not quite epic. The characters are the driving force of the game, and they drive it plenty. The graphics are solid, and look great on the Switch. The music is orchestral and light, and there are great melodies— not much in the way of intense tracks. Overall, great game for anime jrpg fans, watch a video first if you’re not familiar with the genre.

I am enjoying Atelier Ryza 2 a lot more than the first game. The story will start out rather slow, but it will pick ups. Graphics- Overall they look pretty good. Some of the textures look fairly low-resolution, even in docked mode. Nothing too major. Exploration feels like it gives you much more freedom in Atelier Ryza 2. You can jump and fall off of ledges instead of dealing with invisible walls and even jump on ledgers. You can swim, you can climb walls of vines just so much options. It feels more free but it is not as open. The tree system is great. You can unlock some core recipes. It also lets you level up your gathering skills to get more materials, higher quality materials, and the ability to morph recipes. As you go on you will be able to use it for much more. In Atelier Ryza 2, combat feels much livelier and closer to real-time combat even though you still have to wait your turn. Im use to static enemies and taking turns. Takes some getting use to. Overall it improves on the first game

Yes, this game is HEAVILY anime influenced in it's dialogue and story. Yes, the main character's thighs are talked about a lot. But, don't pass on this game because of that. This is a fun RPG that has a really fun and flashy battle system. While the battle system alone is addicting enough to command a purchase, this game is part of the Atelier series of games, so it has a heavy focus on alchemy. And the alchemy in this game is extremely addicting. You collect material (from the environment and monster loot drops) that you use to create new items (medicine, alchemy ingredients, plant seeds, accessories, armor, new weapons, etc). The more you level up and progress, the better material and ingredients you can make, and the better items you can craft to equip to your character. The story is very charming and 'cozy'. It's almost like a comfort food. And the art style, though very anime, is vibrant and lively. One thing to point out: This game's voice overs are in Japanese and that's the only option. The captions and all the text in the game will be in English. Be aware if this bothers you.

This is my second Atelier game, and the first one was surprisingly fun. This game is more of the same so far. I would recommend if you were a fan of the first game, or if you are a die hard jrpg person. If you only play Final Fantasy then this may not speak to your interest. Also if you are a dubbed voices person, please be mindful that all of the voice options are Japanese though the text and menus are fully english.

Great sequel, I like how this entry improved on the first game and got straight to the point. Again I hate fan service in most games cause it isn't needed but it's a Japanese game, so it can't be helped. Ideally, this is an everyone game but keep it teens and up.

Atelier Ryza was my gateway game into the Koei Tecmo atelier JRPG series and I have been hooked ever since. Atelier Ryza 2 improves upon an already fun and beautiful first game. Easily one of the best series for the switch. Highly recommend!

Excellent game! It is English subtitles only though, just like the first game. But you get used to it. Definitely a game worth playing!

A great sequel to Atelier Ryza. Still with beautiful graphics and much bigger exploration. A must have game for the switch.

I have the first Ryza game so I had to buy its sequel. I really enjoy the collecting/gathering and crafting aspect of this game. You can really make anything with random ingredients. The characters are all great too. It helps if you played the first game as you will already be familiar with most of the characters. Also Klaudia is best girl.

I love playing the first game and when I heard they were porting the second game to the Nintendo switch I just had to buy a copy and I've didn't get to play to much yet because I work long hours but what I've played I'm definitely enjoying.

Honestly only purchased it because ive been wanting to play the first one and have had no luck being able to secure a copy. Figured I'd grab this now so I don't have that issue later.

The story is really good and the graphic for the most part looks great on the switch. The gameplay is easy to learn and the control is not difficult to use.

My copy of the game arrive on time and I'm having a blast so far. The game is an improvement from the previous entry with its beautiful graphics, qualitity of life additions.

The ryza series is a highly rated jrpg game. I managed to find 1&2 so I could play them both. Be prepared to spend a ton of time in this game.

Great Alchemy mixing items and lots of awesome fighting. This game is not what I expected and I'm sure you will have a fun time. Give it a try!

I love the atelier series, but the ryza games hold a special place in my heart. Big hub city, new mechanics like swimming, and challenging bosses.

Tried out the first game in the franchise and did not disappoint, this one is pretty great as well!
