I don't think I was ready for the Action RPG changeover. That being said this game is unapologetically cozy and wholesome. No edginess, no goofy romance subplot. I genuinely want the best for Yumia and her friends. You just don't get that anymore in a JRPG. My only qualm is that it's probably a little TOO easy.

I loved the Atelier Ryza series and wanted to give this a try to see if this game carried the same weight. My answer was yes the combat was fluid, characters lovable, and story was very engaging! Pick this up.

Got it for my wife who has played lots of other games in the series. She's having a great time with it.

Imo its a great cozy jrpg. Gameplay is really good and story is highly serviceable. If you know the series you know what to expect with a (very) slightly darker tone to it. Highly recommend.

I am a huge fan of the Atelier series. I was worried that doing some things that were a little more “mainstream” would make it lose its feeling, but im happy to report its as good as ever. 100% recommend, if youre an Atelier vet, or someone looking for an open world rpg.

$70 for Action Combat,Day1 DLC, and No Fan Service

I play atelier for turn based combat, endearing characters, a light hearted story, crafting, and a bit of fan service. This game is none of that. -This is a $70 game with day 1 dlc and a season pass. I expect better for $70. This is some Ubisoft-style pricing. -I don't care for the action combat at all. I don't understand why long running JRPG series are suddenly switching to action combat. You're alienating your old fans by trying to attract new ones. -The alchemy feels dumbed down. -The only fan service you might get close to are the swimsuit outfits, which are nice, but that's only one set of outfits and it's DLC only (pre-Ryza era had tons of great fan service outfits). Really disappointing all around. Does not feel like an Atelier game.

Good game. Not really typical Atelier game but fun.
