Great first Ebike for Commuters

From all the reviews I looked up, the consensus was that this was a great bike for the price. Although still expensive, this bike is was much cheaper than some of the other bikes I looked at (Mostly Trek). When the bike arrived, I was first impressed with the packaging of the bike. All pieces were packaged and protected very well. The bike comes mostly assembled, but there are a few pieces to hook up yourself, like the front wheel and fenders. I would recommend watching the Aventon How to video when assembling. It does come with its own tool set, but I used my own metric Allen wrenches, as they seemed to work better than what was supplied. Riding the bike feels great once you get used to it. As this was my first electric bike, it took a little bit to get a few for the jolt of the motor assist kicking in. It’s not a large jolt, but enough that you can definitely feel it. The best feature over some others is that this bike has both throttle and peddle assist. With the throttle, you can cruise at up to 20 mph without peddling and I found this to be pretty accurate. It’s also nice to be able to throttle from stop, so when you first get up to start going, you can hit the throttle and then peddle without having to exert much effort to get started going, which is great! My main reason for wanting an ebike was to get some assistance peddling up hills, and I can say that this bike definitely makes going up most hills a breeze! Overall, this is a great first ebike if you use it to commute to and from work, like I do. It can be used on trails and gravel, but I would recommend you look at Aventon’s Adventure models if that is what your main use would be. I would definitely recommend this bike and brand.

Assembly issues
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Had trouble with assembly for front wheel. The front brake caliper had closed and wouldn’t allow the wheel to engage. Had to take to a bike shop to repair.
