    Extra Security Is Always Good

PROS: - Easy to register your product key online - Installation is fast and simple - AVG is a trusted and reputable company CONS: - Not everyone really needs this or would want it ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Let me start by saying that I will always appreciate an extra layer of security, especially if it doesn't require you to jump through several hoops to do your normal daily tasks. The only time I really notice that the software is there is when: (1) I notice a very small delay (about a second) in pages loading and (2) if I visit a retail page there will be a banner in the top showing current coupons/offers. I don't think this is for everyone, especially if you're really good about your browsing habits, but it's nice for someone that isn't too "tech-savy". Would I recommend this product? If you want another layer of security, or want to buy it for a friend/relative that may be clicking links they shouldn't, then I would highly recommend it.

I have been lucky to not get any viruses, however, Anti virus software is similar to insurance, meaning you do not need it, until there an issue. By that time if you don't have it you're too late. With that being said, this software was easy to install and covers the bases for internet protection.

I like AVG products, I just reviewed the AVG Ultimate that the AVG Internet Security was part of that. Like any premium anti-virus suite, AVG Internet Security y covers against viruses, spyware, email protection, web protection and more. To be honest, most applications like this on the market at this level will do all that. Many are free so I am hard pressed to see the value. So with that in mind, I will be looking at the installation, interface and performance ( non- scientific) and overall impression. The installation – The initial installation was fast and the download did not take long. The program was downloaded via AVG website. You have to register with AVG to install. The registration was as simple as an email address and password. The interface – I am not thrilled with the way that AVG set up their dashboard. I did not find it very intuitive to access all the features and functions. At first , it tells you what you how you are protected . To view more you have to click on the cog next to scan, the menu, or my AVG drop down. It is not the end of the world, I just was not thrilled the way it was arranged. The performance – This program is fast. Every scan I did was finished in a short amount of time. It should be noted that I am using it on a very clean system but it still was very fast. During scans I noticed no performance lag in my system. Overall – I have mixed feelings on subscription based applications. It seems like you should pay once for something and be covered for a year. This holds true for the AVG Internet Security, if this product is meant for 3 systems for $20; does it make sense when there are free programs that do the same? I am not sure. The AVG Ultimate Security offers a better suite of options and unlimited device coverage. I would pass on the 3 system AVG Internet Security.

Installation is very quick and easy for AVG Internet Security. I have registered with my email and installed in 2 desktops and 1 laptop. There are lot of features embedded in this product to cover privacy, account information, settings and support. The interface is very user friendly and easy to navigate. It takes care of all software updates, scanning, firewall and privacy protection. Performance is great and PC startup is improved dramatically. It will Keep your essential and most popular software always up to date. It will protect personal photos and files from ransomware attacks. It will protect hackers from using your webcam to spy on you. The nice feature is that it isolates even the newest threats to analyze them in the cloud and push out cures to everyone It proactively stop malware with advanced, PC-based artificial intelligence and block unsafe links, downloads, and email attachments. It will encrypt and hide your most private photos and files to prevent family, friends, or thieves from seeing what's yours. It will provide security updates and new features are pushed to you automatically. It will block hackers from getting access into your PC and avoid fake websites and enable safer payments. I am impressed with all features of this product and recommend to anyone without any hesitation.

    Reputable name, quirky install

If you are shopping for "antivirus" (an all encompassing term these days to mean "keep me safe online") AVG is a reputable brand offering better benchmarks than some of the more popular names in anti-virus and web protection. However, I did find their install process a bit quirky. I was a new-to-AVG user (although I had used their product back in the 90s) and consequently had to sign up for an AVG account with my email as my username. Personally I am not a big fan of having to sign-up to download a product I have a license key for. Once I had my account established (and verified via the email message that landed in my PROMOTIONS tab rather than my INBOX) I found it frustrating that I had to sign-in to the installed app on my PC and my Android device to launch it. The actual install on my Windows 10 PC seemed to to take a bit longer than most apps, appearing to freeze at times but eventually completing. The install to my Android was a link via AVG to the Play app to a push install. Once installed on Android, you had to sign on to the app with your AVG account to activate the software. Once everything is installed and activated the product requires no interaction on your part unless there is a problem. I am VERY CAUTIOUS with my devices and truthfully would not normally buy an antivirus/web protection suite and instead rely on built-in antivirus/malware protection and run free tools as needed, however, I worry that my Android phone may expose me to more security threats than my PC simply because I interact with my phone differently. I picked the 3-device AVG license because I wanted Android protection first. I am using the other two license for the kids' laptop and an in-law. The web logon for AVG doesn't offer much other than links to download the product, order history, and renewal info. I had hoped that I would see my 3 devices on that page plus "status reporting." It would be helpful to know via an AVG portal if the kids' laptop was routinely blocking malware, for example. The app interface on the phone is very basic and, even with a paid version, appears to be suggesting other AVG products I should buy like AVG VPN and Alarm Clock Extreme which I find frustrating. The AVG dashboard on the PC is simple and makes you feel safe but at the same time, it doesn't give a ton of useful information without drilling into each tool. Antivirus and Internet Security software cannot keep you 100% safe because it cannot prevent you from clicking something you shouldn't, but AVG has a proven track record and the Internet Suite is worth the investment for 3 devices if you feel you need that always-checking security. Keep in mind that this is annual subscription software and a year later you will be faced with a decision regarding whether or not to renew.

This AVG Internet Security is very easy to set up and very easy to use as well. Once I got the product it was very easy to install on my computer and once installed it has been very user friendly. I have had it for over a week and I am able to easily ask it to scan my computer for viruses and give me updates on downloaded programs. I highly recommend this security software.

This isn't a bad product considering it's 2018 and hackers are completely out of control. There's enough here in to make me feel safe and using my devices I haven't bought any add-ons or premiums but they look pretty sharp too.

I got this after my Norton ran out for my Lenovo Yoga. Simple to install. Seems to be a reliable brand. It isnt anything special, just a run of the mill anti-virus. Realistically they all get the job done if its a paid program. But after using Norton for so long, I find this one is also very easy to navigate to clean up and protect your computer.

Not a whole lot to say here. This is a good, easy too install lightweight antivirus and internet security solution. It's rated well on the third party antivirus review sites and doesn't overload your system with settings or features no one wants or needs. Bottom line, if you're in the market for antivirus, you can't go wrong with AVG

Overall, Antivirus software in my opinion is hard to mess up. 1, does it catch viruses? 2, does it auto update? Those are seriously my only criteria as to if the product. The answer to both of these questions is Yes. Worth the buy, not a huge fan of the subscription model but overall gets the job done!

    Solid Protection / Poor Value

For an antivirus suite that has a free option, the selling points of this “internet Security” suite upgrade are iffy relative to the cost. The enhanced options include protections from ransomware, camera hacking, and copycat websites - and cover this protection for up to three PC’s - but the much better deal is to go all-out for the Ultimate edition that, for just a little more money, includes a suite of tune-up utilities, covers unlimited devices, and includes coverage and utilities for Mac and Android devices as well. Don’t get me wrong, the PC coverage for this suite is stellar - and would probably be a great option to give peace of mind to anyone who, through their intentional or unintentional browsing or email habits, might be more susceptible to online fraud or abuse. But from a cost/benefits point of view, the better deal from AVG is their “Ultimate” edition.

2 stars because the initial setup was neat and easy. I thought AVG was a good product and it may stop viruses however maintaining your peace of mind is more then promises. Had occasions where the software would not update and customer support was very un-helpful. Suggesting re-installation, further more they are full of unwanted solitications promoting other software they have.. Tech support wanted to use remote access. Doesn’t help much with protecting from malicious websites. Wouldn’t recommend this to anyone.

For a 1 year subscription it sure doesn’t do much. It’s basic protection but if you want any advanced features you have to pay and it’s not cheap. I’d expect a subscription to have all features for one up front price.

slows Windows 10 down to a crawl and eats up the system resources. Pushes CPU usage to 96 to 100 percent. Browser jumps from page to page and makes keyboard and touch screen action sluggish . Uninstalled and now works fine. They have issues with this software,
