No scientific side by side analysis to provide comparison to other types, for ease of gifting I have baked in simple disposable tinfoil types of same share... but I can share this is pleasantly "heavy duty" as described and easily double in weight to any other pan of this size that I have ever owned. Unless abused, I cannot imagine how this would not provide a lifetime of use...I wish I had it 40 years ago when budget was tighter, as such it certainly would be a great splurge gift idea for someone equipping a new kitchen and just starting out on their own.
