Was a pretty good DC animated movie. Probably even better than the live-action DC Suicide Squad.

This is a Suicide Squad animated movie. This movie is based on the Batman: Arkham video game series. In this particular packaging I only received the Bluray, NO dvd or UV Digital Copy, but I did get $8 towards B vs S movie. This Movie is PG-13 for a good reason some cursing, violence, and adult content...really not for kids at all. Batman is in the movie and shows up a little bit to move the story along but he's not the main focus in the film. Kevin Conroy voices Batman, his character action sequences are real good. Amanda Waller recruits villains for a Task Force X/Suicide Squad mission into Arkham. It's definitely worth checking out it's done well. The pacing of the story is good and doesn't drag at all. The original squad consists of Deadshot, Harley Quinn, King Shark, Killer Frost, Black Spider, & Captain Boomerang. There are 4 episodes from the DC Vault on this Bluray: Justice League: Task Force X, Young Justice: Infiltrator, Batman The Brave and The Bold: Emperor Joker, The Batman: Two of a Kind. All very good episodes, entertaining and enjoyable.

This movie follows the Suicide Squad. A group of criminals forced to do impossible missions for a secret goverment group. Their mission is to infiltrate Arkham Asylum. The characters are a lot of fun to watch, the jokes were funny, the animation is top notch, and the plot doesn't waste any time in getting started. However this movie isn't perfect. Batman really shouldn't have been in this movie. His presence causes the plot to become unfocused to the point that the Suicide Squad's mission kinda fizzles out with no real payoff. Also Batman does a couple of anti-batman things in the movie. There is also a small twist in the story that will do nothing but insult your intelligence. I know by the sounds of this you might think this review should be 2 or 3 stars, but I was genuinely entertained by this movie with its strong first and second act, it's the third act that really held this movie from greatness. One last thing, this movie is not at all for kids. The content of this movie is of R rating, but with deliberate camera angles that conveniently keeps you from seeing the blood and nudity they skated by with a pg-13.

This movie is terrific! In this animated work, the villains are the focus even more so than the Dark Knight. Nevertheless, I highly recommend it for people who are fans of the highly rated Batman: Arkham video game series and those who are Batman fans in general. Loyal fans will surely recognize certain characters, themes, and other plot elements featured in various DC projects. The voice actors performed their parts well, especially Kevin Conroy and Troy Baker. In short, this movie delivers intense action and an original plot. Unfortunately, the movie is not perfect. First, Batman could have used more screen time. On another point, the movie pushes its limits to where it almost warrants an R-rating. The violence was rather gruesome at times, the nudity was borderline graphic, and inappropriate language permeated several scenes. Although the movie has its weak points, it still testifies to the creativity of DC animation writers and to the precious time and effort they put in to making this project.

    The Suicide Squad Movie

The DC Animated direct-to-video Movies has brought us some of the best stories adapted from the DC Comic books and this one could quite possibly be the best. Unlike most of the other films this story is from and set in the Batman: Arkham video game universe. The movie is excellent but the title is some what misleading as in Batman is not the primary focus. The flick revolves around the villainous group known as The Suicide Squad and one of their missions. If you don't know anything about this faction then the film is a great introduction. It's not often that we get movies from the villains point of view so this is a real treat. Caution this is for the mature fan for the Violence and carnal characterization of Harley Quinn & Frost.

In this installment of DC's animated films, the focus falls onto the villains. We the viewers get to follow along the rag-tag group of villains as they attempt to break into Arkham Asylum in search of a flash drive containing secret information. While this film doesn't directly focus on Batman, they find a interesting, and surprisingly effective, way to include him in the overall story. As the main characters in this film are cold-hearted killers, one should expect a large amount of gratuitous violence and "suggested nudity" (although no actual body parts are shown). For the fans of the Batman Arkham games this should be a blast to watch because it takes place in that universe. All-and-all this is an enjoyable film that doesn't hold back. Cool action, great art, awesome voice acting, and appearances by some characters I was not expecting.

Best DC Animated Feature to Date!

Because it's not adapting any previously published material, and because its primary characters are bad guys, "Batman: Assault on Arkham" has an edgier feel to its plot and action, as well as its darker sense of humor -- it's easily the most fun DC Original Animated Feature to arrive in the series. Great voice work from Kevin Conroy, as always, but kudos to Neal Mcdonough (HBO's Band of Brothers, Captain America: The First Avenger) for turning fine work as Deadshot -- his would be a welcome voice to welcome back in future appearances of the character. As for the product, blu-ray looks and sounds awesome, as always, and it's worth it to get the Limited Edition version with the Harley Quinn figure, IF you can find it.

love this entry in the dc universe definitely worth the buy, if you like movies like lock stock and two smoking barrels, snatch, or rocka'n'rolla or any guy Ritchie film you will love this film it also takes a different approach two the charterers you love in the suicide squad. being a big batman and dc fan this movie one i will watch over and over. however i hate the fact that *Spoiler**SPOILER* Harley gets with dead shot not just because I'm a big joker/Harley fan but because it doesn't makes sense i know harley is certified bonkers and sexy as hell mmmmm but still deadshot really if you gonna cheat on joker at all at least get with one of the Gotham city sirens or Jason Todd. anyhoo i give this movie a 10/10

Batman: Assault on Arkham defies expectations by basing the story on the flawed but intriguing members of the Suicide Squad instead of Batman. Their fun interactions and clashing character dynamics keep the energy levels high so you won’t even notice that Batman’s appearances are being saved only for special occasions. The mature content is handled well, infusing the heist elements with real stakes. While Black Spider was underserved, Amanda Waller loses her spark, and Batman’s pupils are weird enough to haunt your dreams, this is still a refreshingly different kind of DC animated feature worth checking out.

    Introduction of New Animated Adventures

I really enjoyed the main premise of this animated adventure. The character development could have been better but I had to remind myself that this is a movie about assassins, murders and killers. There was a minimum level of loyalty between the featured characters and they were falling like flies. There will be future featured films with some of these characters. They seem to be interesting and complexed within their roles. This group should have had Deathstroke as their leader. He is by far my favorite character next to Batman. Well, I am hoping for greater things to arise from the DC Universe. Pursuing the villains as valid story features is the best way to go.
