In my opinion, Assault on Arkham is the best Batman animated movie released. This movie had almost everything that any true Batman fan would want to see in any Batman movie, real and/or animated. There was lots of action, graphic violence, humor/comedy, very partial nudity, great story, and a lot of villains. Speaking of villians, there were a few nice cameos of Batman's more well-known villians, but the movie was more about the lesser-known DCU villians. Assault on Arkham would probably not have been as good of a feature film if it were not for the villians. I believe this movie could have been a stand alone DCU animated movie. This movie really didn't need to be apart of the plethora of Batman animated movies. I understand that attaching Batman's name to this movie will entice the casual Batman fan and parents of children, who's children love Batman, to buy this movie. I get it, great marketing strategy. I personally believe DC should take a chance at making a few Suicide Squad/Task Force X feature length animated movies. There are alot of unknown DCU villians, with very interesting personalities, that can be used in these movies. After all, they are expendable, according to Amanda Waller. Anyway, I'm going to have to wrap this up, I didn't want my first review, ever, to be an essay. My apologies to all who have read thus far. Btw, the only problem that I had with the movie was the "timing" of Harley Quinn's jokes/punch lines. A lot of her comedic moments lost humor because the delivery of her lines were a second or two...off. It's like, if she would have said "that" quicker, it would have been funnier. I know, I know...I'm nit-picking. I hope my review was informative for all.

First of all, this is a Suicide Squad movie more so than just a Batman film. Don't expect a ton of Batman or Bruce Wayne with his dark brooding and internal monologues. So know that going into it. With that said, the Suicide Squad is hot right now thanks to their blockbuster film and I feel this animated flick does them justice. In fact, I really enjoyed this movie. It encapsulates a single adventure where the gang is rounded up by Amanda Waller and sent to infiltrate Arkham Asylum with the Riddler being the ultimate mark. Twists and turns abound and there's a ton of suspense around just about every corner. Harley Quinn and Deadshot are heavily featured, so if you're a fan of them, you'll certainly be pleased. There's a simultaneous story taking place between Batman and the Joker which plays a big role in the eventuality of the film. The parts are well acted and the animation is really good too. I purchased this and the Killing Joke animated film at the same time and I have to say I really enjoyed Assault on Arkham the most out of the two. Probably because this film presented a brand new story and I enjoy the kinds of movies like this one that chronicle a one day adventure. Suicide Squad, Harley, Deadshot, Joker, Batman, or even a Killer Frost fan? You'll love this film. KGBeast fan? Well, maybe not. But get it anyway and have an hour-and-a-half of Suicide Squad style fun.

Out of all of the Batman cartoons that I have seen this one wasn't all of that exciting but it wasn't terrible either! If you are a big fan of the game Arkham Asylum then you will like this movie but me personally I expected more from this movie!

Although this direct-to-video movie was designed to take place in the "Batman: Arkham" game franchise, the story can also double as a standalone video for those not familiar with the game. The twist on this video is that Batman is not the central character here... the villains are. The bad guys, an eclectic collection of supervillains, are recruited by the notorious government mastermind Amanda Waller as part of a super-secret "Suicide Squad" for a special mission... to break into the infamous Arkham Asylum and retrieve an item Waller deemed important. But as with all government "black ops" missions, there are always plans within plans. And what happens when "you know who" finds out what's going on? And I don't mean Batman! The story is good and the animation quality is equally good. The only problem I had was with the music volume. In some instances, the music volume was so loud that it overwhelmed the dialogue. At times I wanted to turn on the closed captioning just so I could see what was being said over the techno beat. If you're a Batman fanatic, you're going to get disappointed by this video because your number one hero is not the center of this story. Also, some of the content is clearly designed more for the adult fan than for the kids, so parents should be cautious about getting this. Still, this is certainly a video I'd recommend to people who like good DC animation movies.

DC animated movies almost never fail to please me and Batman: Assault on Arkham, directed by Jay Oliva and Ethan Spaulding, portrays criminals with a vicious and sexy attitude. With almost all the same voice actors from the Batman Arkham series including Kevin Conroy, Oliva and Spaulding take the Batman animated movies into Arkham Asylum just as portrayed in the Arkham video games series. In my opinion, it's about time Warner Brothers created a Batman animated movie based on the atmosphere of the Arkham games as it is so popular with the fans. Interestingly enough, this movie focuses more on a criminal special task force created by Amanda Waller, who also created the Suicide Squad, rather than Batman; however, there was still enough of Batman to satisfy our Dark Knight needs especially when the voice is Kevin Conroy. What surprised me the most was Troy Baker as the voice of the Joker. Though he has been the voice of Joker before, I almost thought it was Mark Hamill until I looked up the cast. With that in mind, Baker's acting inspires me with high hopes for the Jokers future. Overall, this Batman animated movie had a sexy, trilling, attitude which was packed full of lethal action that would please any Batman fan. A perfect 10!
