I bought this DVD of "Batman: The Killing Joke" having read the graphic novel many years ago. I was hoping against hope that it would be as affecting as the original story had been but- it was somehow toned down. Even though many of the scenes were taken directly from the book, it didn't live up to the scariness and intensity of the original. Look for the book at your local library and save your money.

The last half on this movie is straight off from the comic, while the other have is new material which sometimes it can work or not.

Classic story with the original animated batsman cast!!! The film was brilliantly done, including the batgirl back story. The batman-batgirl relationship was certainly questionable, but didn't take away from the film as a whole.

I thought it was going to be much more graphic, it was risqué!!! But overall it wasn't as good/great as the other DC animated movies

I enjoy all of the DC Comic animated movies that have come out and this is a good one to add to the collection. This is definitely geared toward more adult viewers, so be careful with the kids around with this one.

The movie gave an interesting back story about how batgirl became oracle. It was more graphic than I realized. But very enjoyable

The Joker is totally awesome in this movie. It shows his character well. I had bought this for my son and we watched it together

As a DComics/Marvel collector, The LAST TIME I was disappointed in a Super Hero movie adapted from the collected&Graphic Novel additions was "PLANET HULK!" As i said; 'It's Batman... My prejudiced favorite hero and villain. "AVERAGE" RATING is being kind. With the Visual animation techniques&storylines being penned today, there are not many movies that can blow a powerfully written comic, but here's1of them!

The movie has a dark side Batman that does a great job of character building in the limited time constraint of a short movie.

Not your every day Batman cartoon. There was a couple of scenes I didn't think suitable for my son but it was still entertaining.

I have followed the graphic novels and this is my favorite. Now that it was turned into a movie, even better! Won't disappoint.

If you grew up with these incredible voices on Batman TAS, then you'll love to see the grown up version of them in this movie.

First off, I will tell you that this is probably one of the weakest DC Comic animation adaptations ever made. This movie doesn't live up to the writing of the graphical novel and seriously lacked the storytelling of the graphical novel even on a movie scale level where they could've expanded more on certain details depicted in the movie...Worth a watch on NetFlix but, not a must own like Under the Red Hood...

If you like batman, you'll like this movie. Also, the digital copy is perfect since I don't need to have the disc to watch it!

The Killing Joke does an excellent job in tying the Joker/Red Hood story from decades earlier into modern times while paving the way to introduce Oracle to the DC Universe.

Read the comic now watch the movie and epic tale of the joker on the lose relive Barbers (batgirl) dark moments and the joke that actually made Batman laugh it is rated R just this time keep this Batman DVD away from kids

Great movie, loved the background information about the Joker. Great storyline, plenty of graphics, action and humor.

Enjoyed this version of the story. Stayed true to the source material. Great use of iconic imagery. Story did not feel rushed.

Although the animation was good and bought the story to life, there were some gaps that broke the continuity to the storyline.

A pretty good adaptation of the Killing Joke storyline. The animation captured the two tormented souls of the main characters.
