Customers regard Battleborn favorably, particularly praising its engaging gameplay, diverse characters, and generally positive price point. Many also enjoyed the game's action-packed nature and the inclusion of a single-player campaign. However, some players experienced issues with matchmaking times and the game's persistent requirement for an internet connection. Overall, the game's fun factor and unique features were highlighted as key strengths.

Great as a new approach fighter,HAVE TO BE PSPLUS

Nice artwork. Cool concept as this non traditional stylized fighter has you go 5 on 5 in very open layout battle realms.
Downside, YOU HAVE TO PLAY MULTIPLAYER, HAVE TO PLAY ONLINE, AND TO DO THAT HAVE TO BE A PSPLUS MEMBER.
Upside PS Plus I'd a fantastic deal, one whole YEAR is same price as the green and black console nut jobs charge for one MONTH. Plus the discounts you literally pay for itself with 1 single free full game download costing everyone else $20, and going month by month at $9.99 you can't actually lose money. Hop on over while here on bestbuy.com or in store and pick up a 1, 3, or 12 month membership card to accompany this $5.50 clearance game. This 3 stars, as just reviewing this game, $15 to play it for a month is MEH. But gamble on this title on sale now at BestBuy.com and you can come back and click HELPFUL on this review after a screening.

I'll begin this by stating the following:
Prior to Battleborn, I had, in my long gaming career, never bothered with a MOBA or similarly styled game.
Going in, wasn't sure what to expect: the game's reviews were good, but let's face it- MOBAs aren't known for the most accepting of communities.
So, why did I buy?
Because of two things:
1) the price had dropped considerably, thanks to it competing, (unfairly) with Overwatch, released almost on top of each other. Between the price drop, a sale price, my Gamers Club discount, and Reward Zone certificates, it came to a total of $7 for me that day. Not a huge loss if I discovered I disliked the MOBA genre.
2) Unlike Overwatch, and most MOBAs, Battleborn came with a single player campaign. Had the multiplayer been a bad experience, I'd hoped to get enough play out of the campaign to cover the cost.
I can say the following; Battleborn is a victim of the Overwatch juggernaut. While they're two completely different game styles, the bulk of the public sees them both as first person competitive shooters featuring over the top characters. It's a shame, too, as I hope Battleborn doesn't end up the way of Evolve, not because of lack of interest, but due to mediocre marketing, public misunderstanding, and, as a result, not enough players.
The fact is, at current sale prices, Battleborn is worth every penny, even if multiplayer is something you rarely indulge in. I hesitate to say to buy it only for single player, but even if you never played a single multiplayer match, if you have a "collector mindset," you probably would get your money's worth.
The campaign is actually very well done, long enough, and filled with the laugh out loud moments that Gearbox (Best identified by their Borderlands series of games,) is known for.
Beyond that, as mentioned, the game can really hook you with trying to unlock characters, costumes, gear, and more- and it's spaced out in a way that feeds you just enough to keep pushing forward.
Multiplayer can vary from full out competitive modes to private matches, and if the campaign isn't enough to keep you playing for unlocks, the multiplayer will.
This has been a great year for multiplayer-centric shooting styled games, but unfortunately, Battleborn, much like another on that list, Titanfall 2, is underplayed largely due to there only being so many hours in a day and people having to choose between it and a powerhouse with a larger player base. (In the case of Titanfall 2, it was released practically alongside Battlefield 1). In both these cases, Titanfall 2 and Battleborn were largely loved by critics, it just came down to logistics of the release timing. I'd urge anyone and everyone, regardless of whether they own Overwatch or Battlefield 1, to give both Battleborn and Titanfall 2 the opportunity they deserve and add them to your library, then add them to your weekly gaming rotation. Both are new properties to PlayStation, and both are labor of love new IPs that need to be kept so they don't end up as "good ideas that didn't stick".
Both of these games have come down in price at Best Buy, and both together can be had for the cost of one new game- and they'll quickly grab your attention.

A fun game that was overshadowed by Overwatch

It's a fun cross between Overwatch and Destiny. It just came out at a bad time (same time as Overwarch) and was over shadowed. The core game is solid, but could still use a little polish here and there on some missions, and the user interface. Love the humor and characters (from the creators of Borderlands).

I was really excited for this game but now that I have it there are some big flaws. First flaw is there isn't much of a story mode/missions. The second flaw is its gets really repetitive quickly. Now some positives, one would be the game play is really good even thought its a different art style its still beautifully made. Now the other positive for this game there are a lot of different character to choose from. Once you keep leveling your character up you even get more unlock-able abilities. The PVP part of the game is decent or i would say normal. It can be fun but its to bland. I would recommend the game because its something thats fun for awhile. Also its a good game to play if your waiting for another game to come out its passes the time along.

I bought this game for 4.99. Is it worth the price I paid? Absolutely! Its a pretty fun game that I can play with my 10 and 7 year old. Its just about the only shooter that doesn't have constant swearing. Lots of characters too that keeps it interesting.

Battleborn is a ton of fun to play! It has a great variety of characters and the campaign is super entertaining, even more fun when you play it co-op. I love that it has split screen co-op, not too many games doing that nowadays. The graphics while cartoony, are very appropriate for this title with it's humorous undertone. The multiplayer is also fantastic and will give you more then your moneys worth in replayability. I bought Battleborn with my Gamers Club unlocked so I got it for only $48 which is a steal for a new game! My son and I are loving it and I highly recommend it to anyone on the fence.

This game is great. I do loaded the pre-release beta and was constantly kicked off due to the server being overcrowded. So many people were trying to play at once! It's addictive and non-stop fun! The characters are so unique- I like how each one brings something different to battle. I can't wait to unlock them all.

This game is a lot of fun except for the matchmaking. Often times I find myself against teams who are full level and I have a bunch of noobs on my team. Also takes forever to get a match started. But the characters are fun and the game play is good!

Battleborn could be a great game depending on what you're looking for in it. There's the multiplayer RPG game part and a fun but limited single player there too. The characters are really really cool and very different from one another. Battleborn also has a unique look as well. Very Borderlands-ish art style. Just know that yes, these are the same folks that made Borderlands but don't expect it to be anything at all like it. There is some pretty good humor tho.
Bought this for crazy cheap and if you can do the same, I would recommend checking it out for yourself, ya might have fun with it.

It's a great game with a variety of different characters. If you don't like playing with other players, or if you don't have a PlayStation Plus account, you won't enjoy this game as much.
It gets repetitive after a while, but it's a great game to play in short bursts.

The content of Battleborn especially for the price it is nowadays is amazing. Each character has a personality and they don't feel like clones. Also with the possibility to play offline unlike some games is very nice for some people.

Good game play, cool graphics and Borderlands feel. I wanted to love this game and I think I would if it didn't feel like I'm streaming it. What I mean by this, is that it seems to take Internet connection to even play campaign mode. If you have bad internet/slow internet like I do this makes the campaign lag, and glitch out. Very frustrating to not even be able to play campaign mode.

Really enjoyed this games unique characters, each with their own development power choice trees that feel distinct, and love that it's not just another multi versus only setup that the story can be solo or coop. Unfortunately story is not that solid. If looking for a fun grind to unlock style reward system this fits the bill.

The animations and story missions are good. It's a fast paced game. I only had trouble with the last mission that doesn't reveal itself until you finish the others. My one complaint is that the game is just too short. I really like that it has a story mode. This game is best played with a friend or two.
