Battlefield series gets afresh start

Battlefield Hardline is a fresh urban approach to the already critically acclaimed series. You basically play a cop, with all its drama, to bring in the criminals dead or alive. You are rewarded points for keeping perps on their feet, instead of in a body bag. Lots of varied missions, and the Multiplayer is wild and fun. Don't miss this exciting chapter in the Battlefield series!

battlefield hardline still feels like Battlefield. But the new story line with the cops and criminals really makes you feel like you have a new game. the use of real-life actors also makes it feel like a show it makes for a real solid storyline. the new game modes in multiplayer keep it fresh without taking away from the classic battle field experience we know and love.

This game's multiplayer is really fun. There are new modes never before seen in any Battlefield game like Heist, Blood Money, and Hotwire, and they are all fun to play. Although there are only a few weapons and maps, it does not seem to be a detriment to the game and only makes it more realistic. If you have friends to play with in this game, it becomes that much more great due to certain game modes having you make important choices to win the game. The campaign of the game is lackluster but that is to be expected of the Battlefield games. You do not play Battlefield games for the story but for the multiplayer and the multiplayer gives you a great experience.

This iteration of the Battlefield series shrinks the scale of the game quite a bit. The maps are mostly more compact , but still very large. Graphics have had a big jump up, the game is so pretty. Gameplay hasn't changed much, but spawn points are atrocious in this game. The system for acquiring weapons has changed and they're affiliation and class specific. This is mostly and improvement but at times is annoying. The story is like being in a good/cheesy cop show, which I thought was great. Good game.

Battlefield Hardline has an amazing single player experience. There are a ton of fresh ideas that I have not seen in a game of this type. Technically there are still some issues as there are with any Battlefield game. The multiplayer is chaotic and fun. The campaign is the star however and for me that's a good thing.

Hours of fun

I have to admit, not a huge improvement over BF4. In some cases it was a step back as the mechanics and gameplay are not as smooth as the previous versions of Battlefield. Occasionally in the first few months I would have trouble joining, or staying in a match. That seems to have virtually gone away. This is another fun episode in the Battlefield series and has already provided hours of fun. I'm about halfway finished with campaign and play online mostly.

I enjoy this game. I enjoy it more when I play it with friends. In order to do well you need to communicate and work together in capturing objectives. Its rarely dominated by one or two people like other FPS games out there.
With that in mind, you may find that you can struggle when trying to tackle a well grouped team of opponents. You will have no one to spawn on, no one to help in capturing an objective, and/or find that your team is for the most part: useless. Just being blunt...
Nonetheless, this game has some cool points to it. It's simple in its own regards yet gunfights can get pretty intense. Sure some will bash the game, as people always do, nevertheless, I still find it entertaining.
As of this date, it still has some polishing that needs to be done via updates, which is unfortunate, but it is still a good FPS game. There are plenty of game modes, plenty of things to do, and it breaks away from the vehicular abundance that plagued BF4 in my opinion. Firefights all day, instead of trying to hide from a heli, warthog, tank, gunners, etc. etc. If you like the mechanics of BF3 or BF4 then I say its worth a shot.

What can I say? It's another battlefield game. I know b it's made by a different developer but this is still battlefield through and through. One thing I do like better is the campaign. It's not a generic campaign like the last 2. Those weren't bad but this one has more to it. The multiplayer is fun as always but there aren't enough weapons. Each side, the cops and robbers, each has their own weapons. Some might be the same on both sides, I can't remember, but for the most part they are different. This means that even though there is 7 or 8 weapons per category, only 3 or 4 will be for the robbers and 3 or 4 for the cops. Me personally, I want more than 3 choices. It's a minor complaint and I know they'll add more in dlc but it is aggravating.

Fun twist on Battlefield

This is a fun twist on the original Battlefield series. There are some certain things that you will miss if you are a Battlefield follower. If you really enjoy vehicle combat you will definitely not find as much of that here. The maps have a decent content and the game modes will keep it moving. The weapons are not your typical Battlefield style. I don't like how you cant have heavy machine guns unless you find them on the map. Also if somebody does have a chopper you cant just load a launcher and take it out. You have to find one in game. All in all I would still recommend this game, just keep in mind that its not your typical Battlefield military style game.

I've played the COD and Battlefield series for years and over the last 18 months or so I've spent more time playing multiplayer in Battlefield than COD because of the maps (in a whole other class above COD and they're not just static buildings and backgrounds. Everything can sustain damage.), vehicles (tanks, choppers, planes, motorcycles, etc.), and the weapon selection and classes are done much better.
I've been waiting to try this game since it was first announced last year. The single player campaign was done really really well. Incentivizing you for playing along with the cop theme. The multiplayer is great so far. Heist mode is like capture the flag and Hotwire is essentially conquest where the objectives are always moving and you're rewarded for keeping them moving. I played a lot of Conquest (large conquest is one of my favorites). In conquest, I feel like the matches end too soon but the new maps are awesome. All in all I'm really impressed with this game.

When I heard about this game at least year's E3, I thought it was gonna be essentially a mod of BF4 with a Payday 2 type theme, which I didn't think bode well for a franchise known for expansive maps and 64 man vehicular combat. Turns out Visceral and EA kinda knew what they were doing with this. Story seems kinda cheesy at first, but a few unexpected turns (along with some very expected ones) made for an interesting (but rather short) single player campaign. The highlight of the campaign however, is the ability to arrest any and everyone who is a 'bad guy,' along with getting bonus points to arrest folks who have arrest warrants out for them. There is a ranking system somewhat similar to the online portion of the game that rewards discretion and non lethal force. The unlock system doesn't make much sense in single player though, however I was able to get to expert level 15 (max rank) 60% of the way through the game, so it's not a huge deal. Those wanting a real challenge will play the game on "Hardline" difficulty (akin to Legendary on Halo) and not fire a single shot, aside from scripted shootouts.
The multiplayer is very Battlefield like, in its own unique way. You have the usual suspects of Conquest and Team Deathmatch, but the additions of Hotwire, Heists (think Capture the Flag) and Rescue, and you have some modes you didn't think would work, but in fact are a lot of fun. The progression system in Hardline is somewhat similar to games of BF past, but you're awarded cash in lieu of XP, so you can buy things such as attachments for weapons, camos, etc. Of course you'll need to complete the prerequisites for those things (kills with x weapon, rank, etc) but you can unlock things based off your playstyle rather than waiting til you get to a certain level or time played.
I would recommend this game to anyone who is a fan of the BF series, Payday, or even Call of Duty. It is still a Battlefield game, but does draw elements from those two games, and really does well, in spite of what many, including myself, thought it would be.

i have played every battlefield and while i do enjoy the war shooter that has become the battlefield franchise it is nice to see it spun in a different direction. it is not for everyone but the single player game gives you the option to play like any battlefield game , guns a blazing, or more stealthy , sneaking up on the enemy and arresting them. the multiplayer is not much different that previous titles in the series but it has a few twist like new game modes and few new gadgets. hopefully in the coming months with the release of dlc it will only improve the online game play.

I have only played the single player. In all honesty wanted to see if an fps focused on its story or not and I have to say they did a good job. The ending was a little iffy but overall pretty good. Felt like i was playing a tv show. But as for gameplay it seems to not have strayed that far from previous games. Collectibles were easy to find. The difficulty of the game was pretty easy. I did enjoy that they added weapon customization in the single player. Combat felt fine. Will most likely do a review of multiplayer once I put some hours into it.

I am a long time fan of the BF series and like many people, I was concerned about the intial decision to move the battlefield and plays cops vs. robbers. After playing the demo, I felt better and after playing the game, let me tell you- the realism, fast paced nature, vehicles, and environments make this one of the best games yet. Maps are so much more rich and detailed and the game modes, although takes on common themes, are pretty fun and engaging. Put down that cartoon-ish other shooter and enjoy the frenetic pace of Hardline!

I so far like the Campaign a lot for this game. That's what's great about Battlefield games. The Campaign is epic and the multiplayer is addicting. So you get maximum replay value from these games!
The gameplay online is by far way better then most of the Battlefields i've been playing recently. 3 and 4 were kind of eh....
It's hard to compare to what I'm used to playing Bad Company 2 which by far had one of the greatest online gameplay ever from the Battlefield series.
Though I highly recommend this game and have already seen it on sale twice. I picked it up VERY cheap the first month it was out. I can't believe the promotion they did for that! Got the game for around 50% off which made the value the best!
Highly recommended if you like a epic quality shooter.

Overall this is a good game, but it is not Battlefield! The campaign is good and the multiplayer actually works, but to the hardcore battlefield enthusiasts this game will probably not suffice. I guess I have an idea in my head of what Battlefield games are and this one is not it. Some cool game modes and again the single player is good but there is nothing great about this game.

If you're looking for fresh take on the battlefield series, this is your game. Not so much a "war based" shooter but more of a modern day cops vs. robbers shootout. Episodes single player are very fun. Multiplayer has many new modes that keep you intrigued and coming back for more. A must own for shooter/battlefield fans. It only gets a 4 out of 5 due to the wait times for the episodes. You cannot skip the story to jump right in which is a small price to pay.

This is a pretty good game as the previous battlefield titles were and the strong point of this game is the multiplayer. The campaign is fairly interesting too as instead of killing all enemies you can choose to arrest them as this is a cops vs robbers game. Very new and cool from the previous battlefields and I would definitely recommend this to friends. It is hard in the beginning to be good but put in hours like any other game than you will do good.
