This review is not about the storyline of Battlestar Galactica, but rather the limited edition box set and what is included. You get the exact same DVDs and cases as the regular edition, the box is a bit wider to accomodate (1) Colonial Dog Tags and (2) the 32 page full color booklet "By Your Command". This box set was on sale for $39.99 the first week of it's release. Kick yourself now. The booklet is similar to the one that came with the 4.0 limited box, except from a Cylon point-of-view. It features all the number models and 4 of the final five. The colonial dog tags are of Adama and are quite nice. I have opened them and they are heavy duty metal and include the chain. These tags sell from anywhere to $15-$25 apiece separately on ebay or collector sites, they are no longer available via retail. All in all, this is a nice set and a bargain for only $10 more than the normal box. I like DVDs that have booklets, and since those are hard to come by these days, the booklet is very nice indeed. The only asthetic problem with this set is if you don't have the 4.0 limited box, it looks a little off on your shelf next to the others. I found a 4.0 limited box on ebay for only $20.

I was a huge fan of BSG until a supremely disappointing last 20 minutes. I cannot understand how the writers were able to ruin it to such an extent. I am still finding it hard to wrap my mind around it. Not only does the ending not make sense from a standpoint of logic, it doesn't even fit the story. After battling for survival they decide to abandon all thier technology and live like cavemen? Seriously? On top of that the show moves to the future where the new civilization is on the verge of makeing the same mistake, but this happens 100,000 years later. How can it be possible even with their technology thrown away? Before this season I bought every single one the day it was released, but this one I still don't own and never will. A MAJOR DISAPPOINTMENT!!!!
