Very disappointed with this product. It only lasted 4 months and the cord frayed. Would not recommend!

If you are looking for a portable and functional dock, I recommend getting this one. It however only works with laptops not desktops. I particularly like the USB-C and HDMI ports. The SD card slot and ethernet port is a plus. A lot of us use those USB for phone charging, this is an excellent addition to your mobile workstation!

A great option for USB-C systems

This is a great "hub". I have used it with Chromebooks, Macs, Samsung Phones, and PCs and it has performed flawlessly on all of them. The first thing that you notice is the very nice metal build, this thing feels like a quality device. The next item is the network connection, that is not very common on "hubs" so this is really more of a port replicator. The USB-C power pass thru is a nice touch, but that isn't supported on some devices. I have noticed that when you are using the HDMI for video, the power pass thru doesn't work. I have use this as a DEX hub for a Galaxy phone, needed ports for a newer Chromebook, and a go to for an ultraportable PC (and Mac). This is a great choice, my one issue is that the cable is too short. If it were 1 foot, this device would be perfect, but in most cases its just long enough to be in the way. I have used a USB-C extension with no issues on this device.

    A must Buy for MacBook

So, I just got a MacBook Air 2019 model. its the gold with 128 GB. Got it for work and play. As it has all of the ports you used to get on a laptop or a old MacBook Pro. This thing is a must. I ports I used all of the time are the USB A ports, and the SD card port. its a big plus that it features a HDMI port, so making it a mobile laptop media hub is a now a thing. so now you can use to when you go to hotels. Another plus is the ethernet port. So this helps keeps your new MacBook, helps you do work or anything you might be doing on your MacBook. Also its easy to use, just plug and play.

I take this USB C hub everywhere with me as it comes in handy. I was a little skeptical when I bought my new Mac, but this allows me to connect everything I need on a daily basis without having to buy all of my accessories all over again. The color also matches my space gray computer and it looks very sleek and elegant

Great USB hub for MacBook Pro

I purchased the Belkin 4-port USB Type-C Hub to replace a cheaper Satechi 2-port USB hub. The issue the caused the replacement (and one I hadn't known about prior) was that all USB hubs are not equal. Some USB-C hubs aren't capable of passing the full charging voltage from the power supply, so although the MBP was plugged in to the power supply thru the smaller hub, I was only getting about 4 hours of heavy use before the battery would be completely drained while plugged in. Also, the smaller hub was creating a temperature issue (heat) that would cause the MBP's fans to kick on at high speed, further complicating the power drain issue. Replacing the smaller hub with this Belkin has corrected both the power pass-thru issue, AND the temperature issue. The SD reader is also a huge benefit.

I bought a new 2-in-1 Dell XPS and of course it is really light, small, fast and cool, it doesn't have anything but two USB-C ports. Bought a fairly cheap hub to connect the wireless keyboard and mouse, ethernet, and an external monitor for the office and as soon as I pugged in the HDMI, it caused an error on the Dell. Checked with Dell and they looked through things and said it was probably the hub. Then decided to spend a bit more and got a Hyperdrive. It worked and it didn't. For some reason the Hyperdrive would not turn on all the time and it got really frustrating. After contacting Hyperdrive, they were really nice but ended up asking me to return the hub for a new one. Did that and when the new one showed up, same problem. Was so frustrated, just returned it and got the Belkin. Should have gone with Belkin from the start. No problems and everything works great!

The hub works great and is really compact. If I had to complain about one thing, it would be the cable part should be longer that way with an elevated Mac, the hub can set nicely on the ground. Otherwise, it works great.

I bought a cheap hub before, which was horrible, and needed a replacement. I've had good chargers from Belkin. This was a pretty pricey, but I had a coupon. I like that it only takes up one USB-C port. The old one took up two and I had to take off by laptop cover to use it. This one gets a bit hot, but I'm transferring huge video files, so that's unavoidable. But I like the different ports, especially the SD card reader, HDMI, and USB 3.0 ports. I'm hoping this one lasts really long because of the price. But it's been very reliable and sturdy so far.

Heats up a lot, usb ports are too tight, it seems like its build backwards. you have to face the logo down in order to put in the cables the "up way". Very expensive. Cable is too short and it will probably fail pretty soon, quite heavy. Good stuff is that it works properly without problems so far

    Solid USB-C Adapter

The good stuff... + Solid and durable build quality + USB 3.0 High performance + Charging pass-thru + Ethernet lights The quality solid build is noticeably right away. I do not see anywhere stating what the outer casing is made of, but they have me fooled if it isn’t aluminum especially since it has a bit of weight to it. The black sides are hard plastic and the cable is a thick and seems durable. The space gray coloring is almost spot on. I only notice a slight shade difference because I am evaluating it closely for this review. The USB 3.0 speeds impressed me, especially compared to a similar off-brand USB-C adapter that I had available for comparison. Speeds will vary based on the drive, but my 128GB Corsair GTX USB drive 131MB/s write and 418MB/s read (see notes below for qualifier). The same drive in the off-brand adapter performed at 50MB/s write and 420MB/s read. The charging pass-thru in the USB-C port is a nice feature. My MacBook Pro is a little sparse on ports with a whopping 4. Honestly, I doubt I’ll fill them, but it is nice to know that I can charge my Mac using the adapter. It’s also a requirement if you exceed 1.8 amps on the USB 3.o ports. More on that below. The Ethernet lights were a nice surprise. I didn’t realize those were there until I plugged the cable in. It did help in diagnosing a bad port on my switch too. Issues during my experience... - SD card performance could be better My SD card performance test on the Belkin didn’t fare so well compared to the off-brand adaptor. Using a MicroSD 64GB U1-10 in an adapter, the Belkin performed at 15MB/s write and 21MB/s read which is within specifications of the SD, but the off-brand performed noticeably better at 26MB/s write and 91MB/s read. I’m not overly concerned about the difference in performance in an SD. Other thoughts: I am happy with my purchase and I would recommend this product. They have an important note in the instructions that states the combined output of the two USB ports cannot exceed 1.8 amps; however, if you connect a USB-C power supply (60W max) to directly to the adapter, you can have a combined maximum of 3.0 amps. I tested drive performance using Blackmagic Disk Read Test and my personal random marker of “ProRes 422 HQ at 1080” seemed like an appropriate speed for consistent measurement. This product works very well. I mainly needed it for the Ethernet connection. So many tablets and 2 in 1 laptops are not being configured with hardwired Ethernet ports. Very compact design. When I picked it up at the Best Buy store, I thought they gave me the wrong thing, the box was so small. I can carry it around in my pants pocket when I'm configuring and updating the portable devices on our business network

It’s good enough for what I need. I use it infrequently, and sometimes setting it up to project to another monitor is more of a pain than it is worth. I thought I would need it for an external keyboard and mouse, but I’ve grown to really like the MacBook Pro (2019) keyboard when I initially thought I would not. And I picked up a Magic Mouse which is Bluetooth, so the port issue quickly became moot for me. One nice thing about the bell in unit is that it adds network LAN port, and an HDMI. Those two plug adapters alone nearly cost what this belkin did, so it became a no brained. No driver changes were needed to make the network connection work, unlike some of the other port hubs that I had looked at were being reviewed as needing. Very small, easy to drop in my bag, although I rarely take it with me anywhere.

I've loved several Belkin products in the past and this one hasn't let me down either! I had another USB-C hub of the "I found it cheap on Amazon" variety before this and there were persistent connectivity issues, as well as things just deciding that they weren't plugged in anymore - and seeing as the Macbook I bought last year was the first computer I've ever owned without all its own ports, I chalked some of that up to probably being an inevitability of having a middleman, so to speak, in the USB connections. This little guy proved me wrong - everything connects right away and stays connected, and I'm especially impressed with the transfer speed from my flash drive and SD cards. My only complaint - and I'll be the first to admit that this is petty - is that since it's packaged with its cord bending in one direction, it was difficult to get it to lay flat on the side of my laptop where I like to plug it in so it reaches my monitor cable. This eventually solved itself as the cable got used to its new... preferred bendy spot? (Is there a technical term for this? Help???) but was a bit of a pain for awhile.

Good for portability, bad for long term use. Purchased this to enhance WFH set up on a MacBook Pro to accommodate VPN multitasking. It works as advertised but there are few things that made me return it. First, I used the HDMI, two USB ports (wireless mouse and keyboard) simultaneously and it heats up quickly and also heated my MacBook. Second, is the design flaw. As a compact dongle you’d expect it to be durable, but even as new it doesn’t sit well in the USB-C port of the MacBook. I can see this loosening up long term and I already noticed the sensitivity when you move it—even as a new product. Third, is the price. For the same price you can get a more durable hub or save your money for a better docking station or superior hub. I returned and got a better hub online.
