had to return it because it would connect to my computer consistently. New one does so far. metal design seems like it would be a good idea to protect the HUB but I'm always scared I'm going to scratch it. in retrospect i probably would have just purchased a different brand but i got such a good deal on this one from a BLK friday deal....99.99 down to 49.99.
Side note: customer service for this product is sub par
Because you need other ports than USB-C on a Macbo

I love everything about my Macbook Pro than its assumption that we all love carrying 10 different dongles to get work done. So this one ticks off all the boxes - Gigabit Ethernet, a couple of USB-3 ports for thumb drives, and an HDMI port. It takes up little space in the bag and isn't heavy. This is one dongle that ticks all the boxes.

This allowed me to connect directly to my In-Laws network when I was working remotely. it filled the need for a remote hub with network and USB ports for my keyboard and mouse. I didn't end up connecting a monitor to it this time but it's good to know that could have and may in the future. It worked very well for me.

I use this for the gigabit and USB 3.0 ports. The hdmi port is limited to 30Hz at 4K, but that is due to the USB upstream connection and not really a limitation of this hub. The SD card reader works well. I do not charge through the dock, as it only passes 2/3 of the current needed to keep a MacBook Pro 16 charged under use.

This is exactly what I needed for connecting multiple USB devices to my 2017 MacBook Pro. A number of devices (webcam, headset) require power on the USB port, and the Apple USB-C to USB-A dongle wasn't providing it. This device allows me to plug them all into one place, along with power, HDMI, and GigE... then one single cable goes into the MBP.

With a recent upgrade to the Apple iPad Pro 12.9 as my primary device, I wanted an easy way to plug my iPad into my ethernet and attach additional accessories. This device is well constructed, and works perfectly! Still amazed by the capabilities of the iPad now. This device also works great with my 2019 16" MacBook Pro.

Got this one for my MacBook Pro. Given it's lack of other ports save USB-C, this is a must for all of us who still have USB type B devices, need an HDMI port, an extra USB-C port for power, and an ethernet port for hardwired connections. Portable and durable. Cannot ask for more.

Got this as a replacement for my Satechi Hub which had poor ethernet port (too loose and lost connection too often).
Ports work great. Internet speed comes in fast, SD Card reading is also fast.
HDMI works perfect for 1080p, though for 4k it is capped at 30fps.
Am just mindful of the cord as it doesn't seem as sturdy as I would want it.
