    Failure/Replacement Failure

Purchased the Belkin N300 ranger extender in Sept. 13, it failed in May 14. Belkin replace it in a timely manner, BUT unit could not be made to work. Spent 3 hours on the phone with Customer Service, finally advised to sent the replacement back and to try again. Free return shipping was the only good thing in the experience. No refund!!! If given a choice, I will choose a different manufacturer! dlsgumbo 67 y. o. male

Some people think that your base router is broken if you cant get signal at the other end of you home... That may be true, but if your base works, then simply add and extender.

    Drops Connection All The Time

I have a very weak signal in my bedroom so I bought a range extender. After figuring out that I have a 2.5Ghz instead of the default 5 I got it connected to my router (which took a little time). I was pretty happy once I got all of my devices connected to it. The next day I went to watch a movie from Amazon on my Bluray and there was no signal. I went in the bedroom and, sure enough, orange light on the extender. No big deal, I reset it. Later that night I go to bed and start to surf on my tablet and no signal. Got up and reset it. The next day I go to bed and orange light. Reset. In the morning, reset. In the afternoon, reset. 4th day and I reset it 3 times a day, so far. Going to return and get a better one.

Shouldn't Be A Gamble Buying New Products

What a disappointment. Trying to boost a signal to my detached garage, 16 feet from my Netgear WNDR3400 router which handles the house quite well. Current unboosted signal is weak and sporadic due to alum siding on house wall, garage is plywood/sheetrock (had foil insulation which was removed prior to hanging drywall). Picked up the first Extender a month ago, am happy with NetGear products but was intrigued by the MultiBeam stuff. After a rather easy though cumbersome (due to requiring a wired connection) setup, I put the Belkin unit in the garage and had GREAT connectivity in garage, yard, etc. This lasted 2 weeks then one day I see nothing but a blinking amber light. Reset the unit, nothing, even when 2 feet from the router. Back it goes.... Figured I'd try the NetGear Dual Band Extender, this one would not connect to the router beyond about 10 feet INSIDE the house. I should note that every other 2.4ghz item we have connects to the router anywhere in the house, so the router is not an issue. Sooo...back goes the NetGear Extender. On to the second Belkin unit. Got it home and yay it worked! For about a day and a half. Then quit. Same thing as before, would not connect even two feet from router. I should note here that in each case they DO connect fine with full bars and allow me to set up the extended networks, but when they restart the will not reconnect to them from then on. Sooooo....back it goes while I ponder other solutions. Was in BB last night and noticed the Belkin had a new revision number on the serial number sticker on the box. Could it be there was a bad batch in ver 1000 and ver 1003 would be stable? Given how nice they were when they worked....I just had to try. So, I get it home, and this..........................IS DEAD RIGHT OUT OF THE BOX!!!!! Same old issue, lets you set up the extensions then refuses to connect. On phone last night with Belkin for three hours, do this, do that, all with same result...NADA. So, in a few minutes from posting this review, this one is going back, for good. A BB employee made a comment that is food for thought. At no point during any return did anyone test the units....according to the employee this is probably because the product has a high rate of return so testing is a waste of time. BB if that's the case just pull the stuff off the shelves til the manufacturers fix them we are not guinea pigs!

I was very surprised at how easy this was to set up. I have large screen Samsung internet ready TV, Samsung Blueray with internet connection plus 2 other internet boxes that are wirelessly connected to Apple Airport Extreme router. Was using aa Apple Airport Express to connect everything. It would run a few days then loose connection. Since installing this Belkin Range Extender it has worked perfectly and runs very fast using 2 bands. Great piece of hardware.

When first installed, worked great, boosting the signal to the rear of my house. After three weeks, the indicator light went from blue (good signal received from main router) to orange (weak signal). Would not improve even when placed adjacent to main router.

This thing is really a peice of junk. It was super easy to confgiure. Most of the time it works, then the connection drops begin. I can still connect to the orginal network its extending w/o drops. It seems it might be rebooting it self.

Extends Network but Loses Connection A Lot

This product does extend the wifi in my home. When it is working, it works great but it loses connection a lot. At least once a day I have to go over and unplug the unit to reset it. I would not recommend this product.

I could not get wi-fi upstairs in my home. This fixed the problem and works great. I previously had a netgear extender that was nothing but trouble. This belkin is much better than the netgear.

Okay... if you're looking for 2 networks

Easy to set up, but once set up, the extender names itself a second wireless network. You have to manually go in and connect to it or be far enough from your original wireless router that your PC looses signal and drops the connection to look for another. This won't happen because the extender needs to be within the range of the primary wireless router. So you end up noticing a slow connection and low signal, going into your settings to drop the primary and connect to the secondary (extended network). Then when you get back in the portion of the house towards the main router, you have to reverse that process to connect back to the primary. There are better options out there to extend wireless. I just wish the box was clearer on this...

    Dropped signal

This product did extend my signal when it was working but it rarely worked. I wanted to see if it could extend my signal to the back of my yard which is about 180 feet from the router. I put the extender on my screened in porch which was one level down and 30 feet away from the router. When it was working I could get all the bars on my signal strength but it never lasted for longer then a couple of minutes. Returned it to Best Buy last week.
