The better mousetrap

The Belkin Duratek Plus Lightning Cable is simply the better mousetrap in every respect. The cable that comes with your Apple products is good quality. But this thing is next level. In the past I have had multiple cables break at the joints. Mainly because my son will just grab the body of the cable and pull it out of the phone or iPad. When you do that, it causes stress on the cable at the connection where the plug meets the cable. In time it will break it at least stop working.
The joints on this cable have some flex to them. So my hope is the even when exposed to my teenager it will last over time at least a little bit longer than the standard cables.
Since I cannot change the habits of my son, this became a great option for me. First I liked the fact that it is longer. It’s about 6 feet long and more than enough for my nightstand where I charge it at night. Where as before I would plug in the phone and it would barely reach the table top.
I love the smooth nylon braiding around the cable. I feel it will really minimize the chance it the cable being damaged when exposed to sharp objects.
By far the best part is that it comes with a small leather snap that will allow you to coil the cable and the snap it closed so it maintains the coil. Great for storage and even better for the simple fact the cable will not get into knots.
All and all this is a great purchase and you will be happy with your choice. By far the best I have seen on the market so far. Educate yourself before you buy. Do you want the $5 cable you can get online that will break in a month? Or do you want own that will last longer and is simply better quality? That is your choice. This cable is the one I’d choose.

The cable is just fine, although a bit heavy for traveling...but in hindsight I should have looked for an even longer one....

My wife and I love this Belkin lightning cable. You can see and feel that this cable is much more sturdy and durable than the regular cable that comes with an Iphone or Ipad. We also enjoy the added length to the cable. The only complaint from my wife is the snap that the cable comes with, she wishes that it can be removed. Other than that minor complaint, we both highly recommend the Belkin lightning cable.

The Duratek cable is a very nice option for those who may go through inexpensive cables due to travel. The cable is wrapped in Nylon, and has a stiffness to it, the cable doesn't bend like the other OEM cables on the marker but this helps to prevent bends that could damage your cables.
I switched my official iPhone charger with this as I use it in the car during my commute and bring it in to the office if I need to charge or help anyone with their phone or iPad, oddly a lot of people don't keep a cable handy so it's nice to always have one handy.
Having the leather strap helps me keep the cable neatly together in my center console or within my laptop bag. I don't have to worry about the cable getting tangled with anything else I may happen to throw into the same pocket.
The Belkin Duratek Plus is a great alternative to the manufacturers cables, but with more resilient for those on the go, or maybe you just want your cable to be a bit longer and withstand rubbing up against the nightstand as you plug and unplug your phone on a daily basis. I would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a durable replacement to check this cable out!

Quality lightning to USB-A cable for Iphone/Ipad

I have learned from experience to not buy cheap cables for charging my iPhone or Ipad. Inevitably, the cheap ones never last. This white, four foot cable from Belkin appears to be well constructed and states on the packaging that it is 10X stronger, plus resistant in bend tests compared to standard cables. Belkin obviously believes in the quality of this cable since it includes a 5 year warranty which is quite impressive.
Some of the quality features include: resists breakage with laser-welded connectors, avoids electrical failure and breakage with reengineered strain relief and resists fraying with a tightly woven exterior of Aramid fibers. It has a leather strap for storage and cable management which is a rather unique material I've not seen on other cables.
I'd highly recommend this cable. It is similar in cost to Apple cables and I have tended to have very good luck with woven cables compared to the plastic coated cables that tend to break or pinch.

Durable Travel-Ready Lightning Cable

The Belkin Duratek Plus Lightning Cable is an excellent connection accessory for Apple devices. The texture of the shielding on the cable is crafted with high quality fiber material that not only feels durable, but is also flexible for routing the cord to the desired position. I expect to be able to use this cable for years to come. As an added bonus, the cable includes a leather strap with a button snap, making it easy to store in a book bag or traveling case while preserving the condition of the cable.
It works great for charging my devices and connecting them for data transfer or audio pass-through.
I recommend the Belkin Durateck Plus Lightning Cable.

I got the Belkin Duratek Plus to use in the rear seats of my van where the USB outlets are only on one side so the 6 foot length would work perfectly and I thought the design looked much more durable than other charging cables. I was right on both counts. The extra length allows people sitting on the side without an outlet to charge and still be able to use their device. It has withstood children's rough handling and gets walked on regularly. So far it is showing no signs of fatigue from use. The only complaint I have it that this cord is simply not very flexible. It has retained some of the curvature from the original packaging and seems really stiff. It's not a huge deal in my situation but others might to pay attention if using under different parameters. I suppose stiffness could be attributed to the durability, which is a trade-off I'm willing to make.

the iphone cable Apple should have made

As ubiquitous as Apple devices are, I'm sure everyone is painfully well aware of Apple's included extremely short, fragile, lightning cables. I'm OCD with everything, but still I find the cable fraying at the connecting point. The Belkin is amply long so I don't feel tethered to the corner of the room when charging my phone, and the braided material feels nice in the hand. The joint where the cable and the ends meet feel nice and beefy, so I expect this to be much more durable than the first party Apple cables.

One of the Better Lightning Cables I Have Ever Had

Braided fabric covers this 6 foot lightning cable.
The reinforcements at each of the two cable ends is very beneficial in relieving cable stress and strain making this a very durable cord.
I have my iPhone in a thin Spigen case and the cord end fits very nicely through the case.
A handy little leather snap closure strap is included to keep the cord neat and tangle free when stowed away or in your pocket.
Other than the fact I wanted a black cord and was sent a white cord, it's just about perfect.

I received this product in return for my fair and unbiased opinion.
Belkin’s Duratek charge cables for iPhone fit a niche that some iPhone users have. They’re a strong cable that won’t easily fail from bending and flexing like many Lightning cables will. They support a full-speed 12 watt charge. The cloth overing over the cables definitely reinforces the strength of the wires. The connectors are some of the most solid on the market.
The only two weak spots I can point out are the snap scratches very easily amd the price is just a little high compared to other options on the market.
I can recommend this cable, but there are options that are just as good and not quite as expensive.

I specifically ordered this order because it is a braided charger and they are usually durable. Well I’ve only been able to use it three times because the USB port that goes plugged into the wall or a USB adaptor easily falls off and doesn’t allow the phone to charge. It sucks, don’t buy it.

It’s a lightening cable so you don’t expect anything exciting. But this one appears to be much better as far as not as likely to fall apart quickly like the oem ones seem to do. The extra length is also a plus. If you’re looking for something that seems durable with some length this is definitely worth looking into.

The only OEM replacement!

This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.
The Belkin 6' Black Duratek Plus Lightning Cable is the only go-to replacement for the OEM charging cables and the way the OEMs should be. This cable is, out of the box, far superior in every way to the OEM and most other aftermarket cables.
The rugged design is apparent the minute you pick it up. The braided/fiber cable screams "try and brake me!" The ends are reinforced by extended covers which help prevent pinching, bending, and breaking at the connectors like so often happens to the OEMs. The leather/button feature is an awesome touch as it helps keep your cord tidy and from flopping around. 6-foot is perfect length and the cable allows for high-speed charging!
PROS
- Belkin quality and features
- Strong, reinforced, rugged!
- Leather/button strap is perfect for this cable and not too bulky or obtrusive.
- Solid build ensures years of use without damage and worry-free usage.
- 6 foot is perfect for nearly any use, strap off the length you don't need if it is to long!
CONS
- NONE!

In spite of the title above, this is the white belkin 4 ft DuraTek Plus lighting to USB-A cable + strap made for the iPhone and iPad. It took my iPad Air 2 from 4% battery to 89% battery charge in 3 hours while it was not being used. The cord feels sturdy and although I did not try to be brutal with it, I did twist and turn and pull on it some to simulate some passage of time and at this early stage, it held up well and appeared to be sturdy right at the junction of the cord and the attachments, where I've typically seen fraying or breakdown with the standard models. Although I've had it for a short time, the five year warranty suggests that the company is pretty confident that it will last and from what I see and have experienced so far, I think that it will. The addition of the strap is a nice feature, as well.

The Belkin - DuraTek USB Type A-to-Lightning Cable is truly a great cable. From the moment I opened the box, it was clear that this is a high-quality durable cable that will likely last much longer than most other cables. The nylon weaving does a great job of protecting the interior of the cable while also allowing the cable to still be extremely flexible.
The included “strap and snap button” cannot be removed and only really comes in handy if you are planning on folding up the cable and taking it with you often. It is a bit of an eyesore if you are planning on leaving the cable in one place for charging but if that’s not a big deal to you, you really can’t go wrong with this cable. As a result, I highly recommend it!

Ya, we're just talking about a lightning cable, but dang, this thing is built well.
The braided cable is a bit thicker than most, but that lends to the durability. Quite flexible, does not get tangled and knotted like non-braided cables - just darn good.
Connections on each end are very solid as well and there is very little risk of damaging the connections due to bending.
Also comes with a very nice (maybe a little overkill) leather (maybe synthetic) cord wrap that is convenient with a little button closure.
If you're looking for the nicest lightning cable around, this very well could be it.

So, my husband always likes to keep plugged in at home so we put this on his iPhone 7 Plus to see how he liked it. The build quality of the cord is AWESOME , so is the length of the cord and the leather buckle is a nice addition.
The bad news is that this cord is not built around if you have a phone case. We had to push hard just to get the cord to fit in with the case. The plug needs to be smaller in profile to fit with cases.
Therefore we cannot suggest this due to the unfriendly nature of the plug profile if your case won't allow the plug.
