Have been using this for a little over a year and it's now broken. Worked ok for a while but app is finicky. Remote control works sometimes and doesn't at times. If you're away from your home wifi, you can't do anything. You have to connect to your home wifi to re-establish remote control. Don't bother with this.

This would be a 5 star solution if it worked reliably. But it does not. One of the two bulbs in the package comes on at random and blinks incessantly. I can turn it off and the "reboot" it - then it works briefly, only to come on and blink. This was a big waste and I would recommend you look into any other home automation solution than this one. I am sorry I bought it.

When it works, it seems good. But, it is such a pain in the neck to set up that every time I have had to get tech support on the phone.
We just changed our internet service and our wifi setup changed and once again, IT ISN'T WORKING.
I highly suggest shopping around for something that is more intuitive, plug-and-play. Plus, there are newer systems out now that have more capability to control additional household systems.
I am not a tech dolt, but this thing ticks me off.

I love the WeMo line of products from Belkin. This one is no exception. Easy to install (unscrew old light bulb, screw this light bulb) and connect to my wifi network. Everything worked as it should. Now I can simulate being at home even when I'm away.

Does not work well will Android out of the Box

I had high hopes for this product, but unfortunately, the unit does not work well with Android out of he box. You are required to change certain settings on your phone, and even when you do, the product still performs very poorly. I purchased the starter kit along with 9 additional bulbs which cost just under $300. Setting up the two bulbs that came with the starter kit wasn't too difficult. However, the product description says that you can connect up to 50 bulbs with one WeMo bridge unit, and I had a total of 11 bulbs. Getting the additional 9 bulbs to connect with the unit was hit or miss. When I finally did get some of the additional bulbs to connect (a total of 6 which included the 2 that came with the starter kit), I could never get the remaining 5 bulbs to connect. Additionally, the app for Android is beyond horrible. The few bulbs I did get to connect kept periodically disconnecting every few minutes. Please note that this was not due to my WiFi signal either. I have an excellent WiFi signal in my home. I have other much more complex devices connected to my WiFi with absolutely no problems, so I know the main cause of the connectivity issues is the poorly implemented Android App. Unfortunately, the App is what makes or breaks this product, and for me it definitely breaks it. I read various online reviews, and watched many YouTube videos on the product before purchasing it. The reviews on YouTube were all relatively good. However, the online reviews I read rated the product anywhere from a 1 to a 3, so I knew I was taking a chance on purchasing it. Unfortunately, it appears that I'm going to be one of the reviewers that gives this product a 1 rating, primarily due to the poorly implemented android App which is the only way to control the unit. Needless to say, I returned the unit along with the additional bulbs the very next day for a full refund.

ought this after reading reviews and seeing the product on sale. Was excited to get it installed but although it would connect to my network, it wouldn't recognize the bulbs. Spent 70 minutes in an online chat with tech support (wouldn't recommend that method to others). Tech sport told me to exchange the kit. I exchanged it the following day and try the set up again. Again it found the network but would only find one bulb. Followed the troubleshooting steps online and after well over an hour got both bulbs plus the additional one I purchased to show up on the app. Note I had to uninstall and reinstall the app multiple times....tried it with both android and iOS. Now installed and working but every time I launch the app inside my home, all three bulbs show up multiple times. Then it updates and shows the duplicates as offline. I have been just "hiding" those "spares" but it is extremely frustrating to have to go through this every single day. The dimming feature is awesome.
