    Yay Peace of Mind, Extended Returns. Boo AutoRenew

    Extended 60-day return period in case something goes wrong is my number one reason to get Total. Extra time to return is worth paying for, although I do wish the default return period was 30 days instead of 15. 15 days is not always enough to evaluate an expensive product that you might use daily for years. I have suscribed to Total before (and canceled after 11 months, before it renewed another year). Auto-renew only is scummy, but when I cancelled before, it wasn't a big hassle. They give you a pro-rated refund for the remaining portion of the year if you haven't used your benefits - I guess that's good, but it means you can't cancel earlier if you'd rather Total keep going to the end of your year but not renew. It's not worth it to me to renew for a second year - after the first year. If my device doesn't show signs of failure in the first year, I feel like it will last through the second year. If I bought $1000+ items from Best Buy every year, or if I bought multiple protected items at once, or if protection lasted longer than the first 2 years, I'd likely renew after the first year. I'm worried about the 1st year, 3rd year and 4th year more than the second. If you're shopping online, watch out for products not sold by Best Buy. I almost bought a larger SSD thinking it would be protected too, but it was sold by a third party so it didn't qualify. I decided to shop elsewhere for that. I've never had to use the damage protection, so I can't judge on that. I have used the extended return window. Best Buy is offering a promotion to get more reviews on this, so watch out for reviews where the person hasn't had Total for more than a couple days.

    I’ve been using Best Buy Totaltech™ Yearly Subscription and honestly, it’s become one of my favorite tech investments. From the moment I joined, I noticed the peace of mind it gives — especially with 24/7 Geek Squad® tech support for every device in my home, even the ones I didn’t buy at Best Buy. That level of access, day or night, has saved me time and frustration more than once.  One of my favorite perks is the extended product protection. With up to 24 months of coverage on most new purchases, I don’t have to stress about accidental damage or components failing right after the manufacturer warranty ends.  The free delivery and standard installation services have also made setting up big purchases like TVs and smart home gear way easier — no extra fees or hassles.     Joined for a Repair, Staying for the Benefits

    I signed up for the My Best Buy Total membership because my old Dell laptop suddenly started acting up, and I needed help fast. The Geek Squad team checked it out, explained what was going on, and recommended replacing a couple of parts. The repair is still in progress, but the whole process has been way smoother than I expected. What I really like about the membership is how much it covers without making things complicated. I didn’t have to guess what was included or worry about surprise costs. Every time I’ve checked in, the staff has been patient, clear, and genuinely helpful. It feels like they actually want to fix the problem instead of rushing me through it. Even though I originally joined just to get my laptop repaired, I’m realizing the membership is useful for pretty much all the tech in my home. The support, the discounts, and the peace of mind make it feel worth it. So far, it’s been a solid experience and I’m glad I signed up.

    I really have to highlight a number of individuals who helped me during my purchase experience. I initially came in just to address a problem with a hard-drive at GeekSquad. But, due to the seriousness of issue, I had to visit a few different departments to get everything I would need. I want to first give a huge shoutout to Erika at the GeekSquad desk. She could not have been more lovely to deal with. I was facing some rather large expenses because my poor hard-drive had a critical malfunction and needed to be sent away. She took ample time explain the whole process and made sure I understood what my options would be. She was friendly, informative, and patient. With her help, I felt I was making the best decision to address my needs. Brian is the next gentleman who helped me. I needed an external hard drive to transfer data from my damaged drive. I later found out he came over from a different department just to help me because he saw I was alone. There were different models available but her really helped me zone in a great product for the best price. I never felt like he was trying to upsell me and I felt great about the product he picked out for me - it was exactly what I needed. Brian then pointed me to Cloudy to help me find a keyboard for a Samsung tablet. I was unfamiliar with these products since it was really for my dad. He really helped me find something that would hopefully suit my dad's preferences. He was clearly knowledgeable and reassured me that it was simple enough to buy products, try them out, and if they don't quite fit your needs, the return policy was generous enough to give me opportunities to find something else. Next was Jey in the laptops section. I was facing the prospect of having to retire my 15yr old monster Alienware because it cooked 2 hard-drives. I hadn't purchased a computer in so long, I wasn't quite sure where to begin. I explained my situation and what kind of workload I typically do. Jey pointed me to 2 laptops he was confident would meet my needs and was within my budget. I was so thrilled by each computer and the price-points, I actually wound up purchasing both. Jey was spot on - they are exactly what I wanted. Andrew was the closer for my experience. He handled my purchases for the day. This is where everything really came together. He offered some great advice as far as additional options for products. He showed me the current generation of Alienware laptops and I was suddenly on the edge of making a completely different purchase but he assured me there was no pressure. He told me the laptops I was buying were more than enough to handle my work and their formfactor was a bit more comfortable. He then explained BestBuy's My Total Membership and how I might benefit considering my situation. After considering everything I had gone through; the repairs for my hard-drive, the money I might save on the backend, and the product protection for everything was buying, this was a really smart idea. My Total has saved me money and given me peace of mind. And one day, I will return to buy another Alienware. Honorable mention to Liam. Although he didn't directly help me, I saw him deal with an unruly customer. Liam maintained composure and handled the situation with grace and professionalism. Lastly, as I was leaving, I happened to meet Travis - the store manager. He was all smiles and offered a genuine sense that he cared about my experience at the store. I can't emphasize enough how much I enjoyed my experience at this location and with these people. I was facing some serious trouble and big expenses. But I got the most value for my money and the service felt sincerely personal. I'm a customer for life.

    I’ve owned an HP laptop that had to be replaced twice over the span of two years, and I want to be clear — this review isn’t really about the computer itself. It’s about Best Buy’s membership and Geek Squad service, which have been absolutely outstanding. Both times my laptop was heavily damaged.I brought it in expecting a long, stressful process. Instead, the Geek Squad team was professional, patient, knowledgeable, and incredibly kind. They took the time to evaluate the issue, explained everything clearly, and when the laptop couldn’t be fixed, they replaced it without any hassle or unnecessary questions. The membership coverage is worth every penny. Knowing that my device was protected gave me complete peace of mind, and Best Buy truly stood behind what their plan promises. The entire process was smooth, respectful, and stress-free both times. There is honestly no downside to the membership in my experience. It has been one of the best decisions I’ve made, and it saved me from having to replace an expensive computer on my own — twice. I highly recommend Best Buy’s membership and Geek Squad services to anyone who wants reliable protection and excellent customer care.

    A Membership Where the Member Comes out Ahead!

    I have to be honest -- this membership had to have been developed with me in mind! I am not one who does many intricate activities on my computer. Sometimes when I am on my computer, I will click on an area to find out what it does or just try to set up a new (to me) "arrangement" to try out on my computer. That is, usually, when I find that I shouldn't have done that because something on the computer stops functioning or I can't access certain areas of my technology. Having faith in myself as being able to "figure things out" or search and find a site on the computer that will guide me to getting out of my predicament, I proceed. Then, a snowball effect takes place and I can no longer access or change anything on the computer and it just doesn't work. This is where my membership in the Best Buy Total Membership is the greatest. I go in to consult an agent who can deal with any issue I may have created and fix it! If I just went in or made an appointment to get help, it would be something that would take more than the allotted twenty minutes to take care of or I need to be taught how to do some things which are not covered by a short or one time visit. If I did just sign up to have a random lesson, I would have to pay for that referral - which may turn out to be a cost more than my one year membership. Therefore, I am ahead, have competence in the help and/or teaching done, have confidence that I will leave really knowing what to do (or not do), and with a fixed computer if such is needed. And, my membership covers everything! This is one place worth it to have a membership!

    I’ve had the Best Buy yearly membership for a full year now, and honestly it’s been one of the most convenient and worthwhile tech investments I’ve made. From the moment I signed up, the perks made shopping and protecting my devices so much easier. First of all having free shipping with no minimum purchase on everything I order from Best Buy is such a timesaver like it’s accessories, gadgets, or larger tech items, I never worry about extra shipping fees ( Which is good considering larger items). The 24/7 Geek Squad tech support has been a lifesaver. I’ve gotten expert help on device setup and troubleshooting literally anytime I needed it, without having to dig around for answers or pay extra. One of the biggest selling point for me was the up to two years of product protection that included extended coverage on devices like my computer which costed a pretty penny, which gave me real peace of mind knowing I’m covered if something accidental happens.

    I’ve had Best Buy Total Tech for a while now, and for me it’s been worth it. The biggest win is the peace of mind — knowing my electronics are protected without having to buy separate warranties every time. That alone saves money if you buy higher-end stuff. Geek Squad support is solid. Being able to walk in or call and get help without worrying about extra charges is huge, especially when something acts up or needs setup. It saves time and frustration. The extended return window is another underrated perk. You actually get time to test products instead of feeling rushed. That said, this membership only makes sense if you actually use it. If you rarely shop at Best Buy or don’t buy expensive electronics, it’s probably not worth the annual fee.     New to program.. Bought a PC with good help from sales. Advice for support taken. Just getting to know service dept. Interesting that app does NOT allow for messaging or changing appts. Front desk clerk very rigid but tech people kind. We drove 2 hrs to drop off computer and do 5 min of paperwork. We were sent away and had to make a new appt the next day. Our street was closed for a fire and we were late .. like 20 min. We were told the work was possibly more than a day when we set up the appt. When we finally got our hands on the five Min of paperwork required... ( after 2 hrs of driving to Bangor)... they said it will be a week before we get to this... all calls go to call center with all foreign speakers not familar with geography... ie why don't you find another Store ( we live in northern maine).... probably our last purchase since no one answers phones, no one is presence to problem solve at customer service and any attempt with online is antiquated

It saves me a significant amount of money on warranties by automatically applying a two-year protection plan to most purchases, which removes the need to make individual decisions at checkout.     Computer Repairs Went Very Well

    I suffered two computer failures in less than two months, and I needed to get these high-end systems back online. The Geek squad people found the problems with both systems, and were able to fix the problems quickly. My computers are back home and working properly. One of the computers required RAM replacement, and the best price I could find for the needed parts was at Best Buy. So, I was able to purchase the new RAM online on the Best Buy web site with the in-store pick up option, so the Geek squad people were able to perform the needed installation quickly. I appreciate the service I received as well as the relatively low price for the hardware I needed to purchase :) . Also, signing up for an annual membership saved me money on the system repairs, and I now have options for other savings throughout most of this year :) .

    I was on the fence about the annual fee, but if you are buying a big-ticket item like a gaming laptop, the math actually works out. The main reason I got it was for the included protection plans (Best Buy Protection). It gives me peace of mind knowing my expensive tech is covered for accidents without having to buy separate warranties for everything. The 60-day return window is also a nice bonus, as it gave me plenty of time to really test out my new gear to make sure it was right for me. It’s expensive if you don't shop here often, but for a major purchase year, it pays for itself.

    Just the 2 years of free apple care, makes up for the price of the membership by itself.... If you buy ONE apple product a year, it makes you whole. "Membership just for the right to shop" sounds weird at first, but the member only deals are pretty good when they are on products you need, but if you are thinking about this membership and DON'T buy at least one major purchase (phone, computer, TV, Appliances, etc) a year, then it won't add up to be worth it, the major appliances and expensive tech is where the savings really add up. Protection plans on everything (including apple care) by default is amazing piece of mind, needed to use it twice last year, but keep in mind it's only included while the subscription is active, so no "get it for this purchase then cancel it" workarounds.
