Geek squad appointments, replacement of cheaper electronics (shokz headphones when they stopped working), repair of more expensive electronics (laptop), troubleshooting calls (smart washer/dryer connection to wifi), and so much more has made this so worth it over the past few years.

Windows 10 Data Transfer

I bought a new Windows 11 model and had Best Buy transfer the data from my old Windows 10 computer. The agent that assissted me was very professional, knowledgeable, and courteous. She promised it would be ready in 2 days, but it was actually ready in 1 day. The Geek that did the transfer got everything right and gave me an expert demonstration.

Best Buy total plus not only gives you discounts on certain items and member special only pricing but covers all your devices for up to 24 months. The only issue I’ve had is with TVs and manufacturer warranties that you have to go through if the product is within one year and fails. Those manufacturer warranties are not as good so caveat emptor on things like TVs displays and any Apple products that need to be serviced directly through Apple. Otherwise pretty much everything else if it breaks they’ll either replace it or give you a gift card with the price you paid for the item so still well worth it.

I have been able to use my membership to save big time money.
I ended up with some viruses which were really causing lots of issues. I tried to fix this on my own and really messed up my computer even more. I thought I had lost some valuable documents but Best Buy came to my rescue and restored my computer completely and it even worked faster than before.
**Lesson Learned--Don't waste all your time. Just let the experts do it!!

Have not had a membership for long. The Geek Squad has been very supportive. My recent purchase of a printer was placed to be picked up, Later told the item was out of stock. Had to change to shipping it home and waited for three days to receive it. will contact technical support for assistance.

Quality service. Bought the Total membership for discounted data transfer fee from old computers, set up, and tech support ... all of which came in handy. Would have rated 5 stars if it would have been easier to speak with someone in the store rather than being transferred to India every time I called in. Support was effective, but was a hassle to get assistance. ended up having to drive up to the store to speak with an associate.

I went to the store to look at laptop, computers and shelves and HP 17 inch but I wanted to think it over so I came back home and I’m looking on the website they had another 17 inch which was a little less so I called and talked to a Spencer, and he assures me that the lady that helped me at the store would get credit if they do that and the one I looked at first would be the best choice and I could order it over the phone. Go in when it came in and just go over to the geek squad and they would download my other one and I’ll be out of there well when I got to the store, they said oh you need an appointment with the geek squad and so now where I live in Hemet and I am traveling to Menifee. It was just go on home and will call you when it’s ready while I’m 85 years old and traveling back-and-forth is not some thing I wanted to do. that’s why I called him rather than making a second trip to the store. It seems he could’ve informed me that I needed to make an appointment before I came back over to pick it up so now I’ve made three trips to the store and cannot say it was one of my better experiences. I’m sure this will not be a winner, but it seems maybe you could all get together and let people. That they need to make an appointment before they get there so this doesn’t happen to someone else I’m sure this won’t get the best seller reward but maybe it will help other people don’t know what to do

Kobe helped me with my computer problem two times, the last time and this time. I made a review last time, but I am willing to write it again.
I am not familiar with computers at all, but he was very patient with me and led me in the correct direction. I appreciated his help each time.
It was a great decision for me to become a Best Buy total member.

Definitely worth the price. It pays for it self in the long run. So glad we have it. Has Definitely saved us with geek squad more than once. If your and avid gamer or just getting appliances add this because you never know what might happen. We have had ours for 3 years now and wish we got it a long time ago.

I made multiple calls to determine if my desktop could support Window 11. The technician was very patient and explained the specs and how many components would need to be replaced.
When I purchased a new computer, my files and contacts and apps and icons were transferred from the old computer without additional charges.

The BestBuy Geek Squad team at Vallejo was great. Addressed all the issues with 2 computers. The only reason this is not 5 stars is the phone service required to make appointments. Get rid of that "service". So frustrating that it makes me want to do business somewhere else.

I had a major problem with my computer (virus related). When I went to the Geek Squad, they advised me it could be fixed for about $200.00, and I approved the repair. But then, the technician advised me about your maintenance program that costs less INCLUDING the repair saving me over $50.00, and now I have sound mind that I have a maintenance program in place. Very pleased with service.

The only reason why I didn’t give a five star rating was that it was impossible to contact the geek squad through an AI telephone system that is obnoxious and actually insulting. There are many times when it’s necessary to not spend three hours trying to discuss something with the repairman. The Geek Squad deserves a five stars rating.

the membership with the geek squad plan was helpful. after we got it home ad ware popped up .not sure if it came from transfer from old system. geek squad cleaned it up. the price came down a bit and we got some refund.

The gentleman in the Brick store was very knowledgeable about the membership and what he was doing to repair my pc. He explained what he was doing and why he had to do it to get my problem solved. I highly recommend the membership to everyone. i have recommended the membership to a few friends and they all feel the same way I do.

Good Service/Bad Parts

My Dell laptop was taken in for servicing due to a bluescreen loop. It turns out the drive was known to have issues, and production stopped long ago (although there was never a recall or information provided to indicate it would fail sooner than later). Because of this, I was told none of my information could be retrieved or saved. Bummer. Overall, the techs were nice, communicative, and efficient, all things considered.
It saddens me to hear that you were not able to retrieve the data from you old device. However, we are happy yo hear that you had a positive experience with our team. We appreciate you for being a My Best Buy Total Member!
