Bought this DVD because of Rifftrax. One of the worst movies ever made, but with the Rifftrax going, it's great. Thus the reason for the overall rating of 4, but a one everywhere else. I don't think it's watchable any other way other than making fun of it the whole way through. And the gentlemen at Rifftrax do a fantastic job at it, or you can just watch it without the riff and be amazed at how HORRIBLE the movie is without somebody asking the following questions: Somebody actually made this movie? Was the cinematographer just a 7 year old kid with mom and dad's video camera for the day? Do they really expect you to believe that those are real birds? If a Raven crashes into a house, will it really blow up like it has 500 pounds of C4 strapped to it? How many times did they say "global warming"? Seriously? There is a sequel in the works? I recommend this movie only because of how funny the Rifftrax is, the fact that it is a cult classic and to show how NOT to make a movie.

There's not much to say about this movie that the title and cover of the box dont already say. It is in fact a horrible movie, complete with horrible special effects, dialogue, writing, transitions, audio, cinematography and editing. With this movie though, you have to go into it with an open mind and an open container. Trust me, have a few beers and kick back and you will definitely enjoy it a bit more. It's probably best if you go into it not knowing or seeing anything about it, that way when specific scenes pop up from the trailer, they will be a pleasant surprise and certainly get some laughs, that is if you're slightly inebriated. If you're looking for good film or good sci-fi, or even the chance to celebrate a low budget film that made it, avoid this one. If you're looking for a good "Bad" movie, this is definitely a winner. Well worth the $8 or so it's on sale for now, but don't go a penny over.

"Birdemic" is a cautionary tale about the hubris of modern society and our collective negative impact on the environment. I found these themes resonating in my mind for days after viewing this powerful, wrenching film. You can easily find traces of Fellini, Scorcese, and Coppola in Nguyen's direction. From his compelling set pieces, brilliant cinematography, and insightful script, this is the work of a true auteur. Not since "The Birds" have I seen such a riveting and truly scary scenes. Please do not pass up this notable entry in the modern horror genre.

This movie has HANDS DOWN the WORST acting and "visual effects" of any movie I have ever seen. Literally, the elevator scene in the original Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory is infinitely more realistic than anything in this movie (and you can nearly see the string holding it). I could give a toddler a computer with Windows '97 on it and he could do better visual effects in Paint. Don't even get me started on the video editing. They fill in this movie with scenes full of flat characters and meaningless dialogue which no one cares about at all, and has no merit. There is also no storyline. I would only recommend this as a comedy... You will laugh your butt off at how HORRID this movie is.
